I do agree about a probably specialized role, the stated Purpose of the FN Evolys is to provide as much firepower as possible while still handling like a standard rifle for use in urban areas and not as a "Real" machinegun. Still though, the thought of a KAC LAMG modified to work with such a system would be absolutely beautiful visually.

Sorry, to be more specific I mean I am looking to get a Taurus pt92 or a used pt99 for the nicer rear sight. It isn't for concealment or anything it is just a bedside or couchside pistol or something to shoot plates with at the range. I do really like the way the chromed steel ones look but was wondering if there was any major reason get a regular 92fs instead?
No. They won’t sell it if it’s unsafe. It could be anything from not shooting an accurate enough group to having too many function issues at extreme temperature testing.

the mg3 is just a mg42 in 7.62. Conversion parts are available to covert from 8mm to 7.62.

From my understanding the receiver and barrel are from PTR while the rest is parts kit junk from Century, Like I said I probably won't shoot it much and in my eyes its worth $650.

Fit and finish (and a modest degree of accuracy in my anecdotal sample of one of each) is nicer on the Beretta, but the PT92 is "fine". It'll go bang every time you want it to and won't when you don't.
and if you get a AR10 you should be able to get an 8.6 blackout upper if you want to do with 300BBC stuff.
That is the headspace. Check the gap between the bolthead and bolt carrier with feeler guages. Should be roughly .020"-.010" give or take. Bigger gap means tigher headspace. Mine came in at around .017
PTR assembled with a PTR receiver. The kits aren't junk per sey, but they are surplus, and century is selling them without any refinishing. That is to say, they are built off of surplus portugese manufactured G3s, so they're going to run fine generally, but they won't be pretty. The only real issue I've heard is some roller dent problems, and that can be fairly easily fixed with larger rollers and/or a new recoil spring.
I can sadly also confirm this to be the case. I wish I had done a little bit of research before my first few firearms purchases. Nope, my dumbass monkey brain just went "holy shit, is that a G3?! I'll take it!"
I got lucky that when I bought mine, PTR had great quality control. I've heard though that as the surplus parts are running dry, the quality control has dipped. If you're just using it on the range and not for hunting, it should be fine. Just stick to 7.62 nato or lighter .308 rounds and you should be fine.
