If you got one when they were still 80-120 don’t feel too bad.

Just went to check the gunjoker prices, some boomers niggas are on crack.

.357Mag, .41Mag, .44Mag and .45 colt +P are all what 10mm wishes it could be. They all achieve velocities 200FPS higher (or more) than 10mm with comparable weight or heavier weight bullets with ease. The .41 magnum which is so often called the equal to the 10mm absolutely smokes the 10mm.

Jeff cooper's original concept for the 10mm is what .40 S&W became - a middle velocity medium bore pistol cartridge that approached the terminal ballistic effects of .45 ACP with capacity and trajectory similar to 9x19. when Norma took on production for the 10mm they vastly increased the power of the cartridge making it into what we know today, I think to its detriment (and the FBI's agreement). this increased power necessarily increased pressures leading to the famous "snappy" quality of the 10mm. Automatics are generally lighter than revolvers of the same size. the average shooter just can't shoot a 10mm very well, especially with the light weight polymer guns like the Glock, M&P etc whereas they can be taught to shoot a service sized (4-5in) .357Mag.

in other news, I re-stocked my EDC today:

The smaller grips do not hinder my shooting ability at all, or seem to increase felt recoil (at least to my observations). I fired just a few cylinders of .357Mag though so my impressions my change with time but I'm liking it so far. Seem to feel better in the hand when firing one-handed but I'm sure with some grip practice that can be rectified. I most often shoot pistols one-handed anyway so no big loss to me either way. The smaller grips should conceal better when I carry concealed, but I still mostly open carry w/ a El Paso Sadderly thumb-break duty holster.

Whats wrong with those?
I looked into them as a sort of "why not" purchase, the single shot is apparently OK(if not heavy as hell) but I've heard of imprecision and sticky bolt problems with the mag-fed rifle. Few people bother shooting them often though so it's hard to get information as it is.

I've had similar results with the 6" Anaconda, but I would still want one of those T-grips or equivalent. Shame the only ones you can find and are being produced are primarily S&W and the Colt ones up for auction are the crappy black plastic ones that look like they've been gnawed on.

I'd be inclined to buy a set to try if there wasn't a 6 week lead time for Tylers. its ridiculous.

Alright, question of the day....I need to replace a scope a gunsmith fucked up by tightening the rings too tight, it's borked. It was a ~1970 Leopold 3-9x40. Recommendations for current scopes for a 7mm Remington Mag? Usually shoot 150-200 yards, but looking to expand to 400-500 or so.

10mm is not a meme cartridge at all. You get a powerful cartridge in an autoloader without the huge capacity penalty that .45ACP inflicts. Too expensive? It would be cheaper if it were more popular. Too uncomfortable to shoot? Just use a .40 or a 9mm. It's honestly a shame 10mm didn't do to .45ACP what 5.56 did to .30 carbine. If someone wizard poofed every .45 I have to 10mm I wouldn't be mad, especially since I'd have a 10mm Mark 23 and long slide 1911. The only reason I would want to keep a .45 around would be as a silencer host with its subsonic and heavy bullet. My EDC is still a 9mm though.

And don't @ me .45ACP fans, I probably have more .45s than you do.

I'm not mad at the 10mm fandom. I don't have one, but I do appreciate the firepower they bring. I mostly carry a .357 Sig as a daily, just because I have the old Glock 33 pocket rocket. I had to buy a .40 barrel for that one just because .357 sig is expensive as fuck and hard to find. .45ACP is awesome, and an old Colt 1911 is still my favorite just for fit, but damn those bitches are heavy loaded, and I'm guessing a 10MM is too.

Get a Glock 20. I would suggest the 29 but they're unobtanium, and the 40 is a longslide.

That JAKL looks sick.
Now I have this weird quest to get the 29 to go with my 33. I'm used to the pocket rockets, even if I have to put the mag extenders on them so I don't have to leave my pinky hanging off like a rather distinguished Englishmen of culture. LOL

Ah, I kind of want their pistol cause it does look "fun". I decided against the AR50 when I was in the market because of sticky bolt issues, that happening on a mag fed one would piss me off to no end.

Handloaded 100k PSI 5.56 that starts to kill barrels in less than 5k rounds of slowfire
Is this some meta level troll to push gun control? Guy is working really hard to make the round sound super duper other worldly when it gets 3500fps out of an 18 barrel. Not much faster than fucking m193 out of a similar length barrel.

Because anyone who knows anything about barrel length, niche loads isnt creaming their pants over this.

I don't think anyone has said it's a meme, its a fine cartridge for "social work" as col. Cooper would say, it's just not on the same level as the magnum revolver cartridges despite so many people wanting it to be.

10mm 1911's can have issues too. The cartridge is a hair shorter than .45 ACP or Super .38 which can cause issues with feeding (same problem w/ 9mm 1911s). The high pressures of 10mm over stresses the frame rails and can lead to cracks, and if there is any defect in the barrel link and link lug on the barrel it will crack and fail. Guns built around the cartridge are the way to go (or semi custom/custom 1911s). USP conversions are good too but have problems with ejection sometimes. some enterprising individuals also converted Beretta 96s from .40 to 10 but i don't know how well that went.
