An Individual who i believe to be a Montagnard (Referred to a "Yards" by SOG personnel, they were great fighters but prone to primitive antics such as eating anything that moved, shaking down their American teammates for money, food, watches and anything else they could get out of them and spray painting dogs various colors) attached to MACV-SOG during the Vietnam war. His XM177E2 is equipped with a White Phosphorous Rifle Grenade, Nick Brokhausen notes in his book, We Few, that Yards were not issued WP grenades because they lacked the strength to throw the 27oz grenades a safe distance. This is the only photo I personally have seen of an XM177E2 with an equipped rifle grenade, despite one of the changes from the E1 to the E2 being the addition of a grenade ring.
