.45-70 with the right load and the right bullet can take any game on planet earth. if you ever intend on reloading i'd go .45-70 it has 151 years worth of aftermarket support.
From the specs I've seen of its energy and videos of 45-70 firing, that is a under statement. Personally want one of those new marlin lever actions if I get a 45-70, they look great.
Some jurisdictions restrict cartridge length, and I recall at some point in time that it was falsely considered necked due to the crimp and slight taper of the brass.
That is stupid lol.
Either way, if he's going with an AR-15 he could always get a .450 Bushmaster upper for cheaper than another gun.
Always heard good things for .450 bushmaster.

I would have bought a gen 1 with the irons but i won't buy that gen two AR wannabe.
With how every AK on the market, aside from Yugos because they're actually okay, is shipped with canted irons I think it's a valid exemption when people are just going to slap an optic on it anyway. I think I would go full retard and put a carry handle/A2 post on the rail just for kicks, if I bothered getting one.
They feel smooth as hell but you may as well not buy an AK at that point since the crudeness is the whole appeal of the platform.

.360 Buckhammer was Remington’s answer to .350 legend. Slightly heavier bullet weights but rimmed cartridge limits use to lever guns
Personally I just like we have a new rimmed round. It's exciting if nothing else. Specs aren't bad too:

Energy wise, it'll knock down a deer just fine. You just have to like lever actions which I think most people do.

I looked up that Blackhawk flattop because I don't know much about Ruger's revolver models. Not cheap but don't let that stop you. Which one are you going to go for?
The stainless .357/9mm convertible. Rarer than hens teeth or unicorn tears.

I CANNOT find one in the USA and neither can my FFL.

One went up for sale on arfcon last month and was sold in less than 3 hours. Ugh.

That's been happening in the US as well. I was initially strongly opposed to the idea, but as it turns out, lead shot building up in wetlands does actually have an effect on lead levels after all. Slowly, but looking at places where people have been shooting ducks a lot for a century it's apparently pretty noticeable, and it keeps building over time.

Since I'm not Chinese, I welcome reducing lead levels in waters and wild stock. Not to say that there can't be ulterior motives with the way it's implemented in places, mind.
Bismuth/steel and similar bird shot work fine

Lead is a pretty nasty thing to have in watery areas on abundance.
Try not to powerlevel, but we live outside a major city (we're in the top ten most dangerous cities in America) about 40 mins away in the country. Our jurisdiction is technically presided over by the mayor of that city. That mayor, though our state is one of the hardest line pro-2A "our cops will not comply with federal gun laws" states, is a turbo cuck "they were just protestors" "no one needs a gun for any reason" hardline bluetard. He has been increasingly getting involved in self-defense and gun related crimes (no, not those ones, silly. The ones that involve legal gun owners.) and pressuring for harsher sentences for self-defense. they mostly go nowhere, since if it makes it to state court, it gets shut down pretty handily.
But the increased pressure to get legal guns off the street mixed with not so on the level police, has led to a heavy glut this year of people not getting their guns back post-SD situation, or if they end up spending the money to legally compel them, getting them back borderline destroyed and parted out.
Mrs. Balls is partial to hers, emotionally attached since it was the first gun that was ever hers, so we're replacing with something similar, but cheap enough that if a cop decides to keep it, we're not financially or sentimentally impacted all to heavy.
Ouch. I'd suggest another Cheetah. Maybe a used one off GB or similar or a newer one.

Not cheap at all but the exact same manual of arms and the sentimental one gets to stay safe at home.
How are the Palmetto AK’s? I’ve sparingly used AK’s ever and their pricing isn’t outrageous.

Other thah that. What’s a good revolver to get? One of my sisters wants to try to get a guns and wants me to take her shooting. Taurus seems to dominate the stores near me and I’m tempted to look on Gunbroker because of how shit they look.
Good to go from Gen 3 onwards. I have a PSAK-103 and it's great. FN barrel and all that.

You WILL have the possibility of getting an absolute lemon but PSA has an excellent warranty.

Revolvers... Ohh so many choices. S&W K frames are awesome, an L frame might be a bit much for Lady and her lady hands. Great warranty if the QC slips up.

Ruger makes some excellent Revolvers as well but their bigger ones (GP-100) are BIG. the SP series is the "midsize" offering. Taurus can be good or utter SHIT, just like modern Charter arms.

Kimber makes a damn good revolver but you're gonna pay and allegedly they can have some god awful QC issues.
That used to be the case with getting a WASR or other import AKs. Mags would wobble, sights canted, etc.
Yep, my WASR-10 has slightly canted sights and the mag it came with is wobble city. Bulgarian and S. Korean steel mags and Magpul AK mags fit nice though.

What 30+ round mags?
You don't have any 30+ round mags.
and even if i did, i they all got loss in a boating accident/were stolen

Is under 50 cents a pop for 45 acp a good deal? My shop has 1k 45acp for $429. Also my shop has a reblued and refurbed m1 carbine for 599
DCA buy ammo with stocks, bonds, precious metals, and crypto

K Frames are fun, nice full sized wheel guns. Personally want a model 10, the ultimate 38 special revolver, and been going since 1899.

As for Ruger, I do want a Blackhawk in 30 Carbine, because that would be fun as fuck. That and one of their .22 wranglers, because it'd be a cool peashooter.

Depends on the brand, entirely. If it's "remanufactured" I'd recommend against it because that's usually terrible and inconsistent no matter who pushes it. Winchester is also not so good.

Also my shop has a reblued and refurbed m1 carbine for 599
If it's old and original and not Auto Ordnance/Kahr, Universal, or other post-war production that's a very nice price no matter what. Even so, spare parts and new manufactured springs can get it running like a champ.

Runner-up is .44 Magnum. Out of a rifle, .44 Magnum will fuck anything up just about as badly as .45-70. It might actually have slightly more aftermarket support due to popularity.

Get a pre-model 10. Cheaper usually, and way worth the cooler points. Especially if it's a 5 screw, because you can attach a Wondersight. I can even DM you the guy I got mine from, they're modern repros. Being able to adjust height and windage on these old guns to shoot POA without having to learn it's quirks is a godsend.
Also, I can send you parts if you want to build your own. No cost but shipping.

Thanks everyone for the recs on the 380 situation. Site is being faggy, so I can't quote. But you all have helped immensely. going to go look at a few this weekend.
Also, Palmetto has ammo deals like crazy. Was able to get 100 rounds each for my 38spl, 380, 300blk, 9mm, and like 1000 spare rounds for my .22 for like, $160. Almost all Federal, I really like Federal. May be my favorite ammo brand, have never once had a bad federal round.

Developing story right now allegedly regarding the sale of the Hoffman Tactical Super Safeties by TwinBrosLLC. They are currently being visited and or raided by the ATF.
ATF is gay. Buying not a machine gun instead of just printing one--if you want to live the land of technicalities--is playing a very risky game with little upside. There is apparently even delays in shipping, or a backorder, for these Super Safeties. They also advertise on Xitter their giveaway and sale of these devices. Hope Hoffman, Twin Bros, and customers stay safe.
I'm retarded and phone posting so no archive, apologies.

It blows my mind people were buying essentially a machine gun and thinking they were in the clear. If you didn't expect the ATF to go after this, you may need your noggin a joggin.

If you bought one and sent it to your house. You are retarded and should promptly hide it/destroy it along with any non registered NFA items. At the very least you should have been using a visa/mastercard gift card, bought with cash, and sent to an abandoned house. Assume the ATF has any info you ever gave to TwinBrosLLC.

While I'm all for recreational nukes and stuff, yeah if you don't see the honey pots, you're doing a disservice to the gun community getting caught for this shit.

For all I know some of y'all have giggles you don't talk about because you're not fucking retarded enough to think "hey I go by poo poo pee pee online the ATF won't find me posting my wish dot com airsoft switch"

Yeah no they want to stomp your balls and shoot your dog so they have a reason to exist and take guns from the rest of us.
