As a Hakim owner it might not be any worse to shoot as it already is.

I can assure you it is much, much worse. It's one of the RTI imports. Showed up with a bent barrel, so I hacked it, pinned and welded the muzzle device so it's 16in, then made this.... the gas system is still all kinds of fucked though.

Esoteric and aesthetic, but wholly obsolete with new bullets and knowledge.
Velocity isn’t obsolete, especially when most people are still running M193 anyway.

I don’t know of any of the modern rounds that would lose effectiveness out of a 20”. I’m running a 1/8 twist barrel, so it will stabilize all the modern ammo.

Null should also be prepared for trannies in vests attacking him when he's out getting his hollandaise-soaked pizza, so he should EDC something like this (not my picture):

It isn't that they lose effectiveness, it is that the velocity threshhold for reliable expansion keeps getting lower and lower. Which means that ye old M193 and M855 which give less reliable terminal ballistics through fragmentation are relegated to training ammo. You should stock pile some antipersonel ammo, and burn through the widely available M193(or M193 copies) for training.

The pleasant shooting aspects of 20", like soft recoil impulse and quick follow up shots are very nice, but you can train to the same effect with an SBR; which will be vastly superior in presentation time and working around barricades or from a vehicle.

I have SBRs and better ammo than 193. A 14.5” with a can is like the same size as a 20” without a can. I don’t prefer the shorter guns anymore.

It finally happened to me, instead of reading about some insane deal I got the insane deal.

Picked up a g22C from my usual place for $200 bucks, there were two refreshed, police trade in g22's right next to it for $400. I asked the guy who put it out why it's so cheap compared to those two and he just kept saying it's a .40 and ported. Now, forgive me, but a factory comped glock, even if it's a .40, is going to be more lucrative than just a regular glock. So I went through it, found it in perfect working order (albeit far too lubed for a glock, the thing was practically swimming in lube) and had to pick it up. The guy (who I'm quite acquainted with) kept belly aching about how he just wanted it gone and how ported pistols stink to shoot. A few days later I'm in looking for new sights for it (picked up a set of trijicon HDs as you can see) and his cohorts at the shop were expressing their own bewilderment as to why he put it out for so cheap. Obviously it was ordained by God that I get a good deal.

Ported guns DO suck. Learn proper pistol marksmanship, don't rely on accessories and gimmicks.

Two different local FFLs have told me there is a municipal order that whenever three or more pistols are purchased in one month by an individual, they must notify the local police.

But no one told me what happens when I purchase two pistols through each of them within 30 days.

Fuck you poor fag try mag dumping a 10mm and breaking your wrist. I daily carry a ported gun and it makes a huge help with uncle basso's hot 10mms, also it's god awful in low light. But sometimes niggers legit just die of fear from the dragon fart that comes from it

Searing your corneas at a night shoot builds character

"If they occur at the same time or within five consecutive business days of each other" Form 3310.4 has to be filled out by them which is required by the ATF. I'm not certain on state laws but I think there are a few that have their own reporting process

A rifle length gas system is nicer and softer to shoot than a carbine length. No doubt your prefernce is genuine.

But I can't take anyone seriously if they are suggesting an unsuppressed 20" AR has greater utility than an 11.5" SBR with a can.

I don’t raid trap houses or operate in confined vehicles, so a shorty doesn’t make sense for my use case. I’ve had uppers in every length from 10.5 up, but again I just don’t have the need. 5.56 cans also cause a bunch of mirage very quickly which is super annoying.

What gun do you use for self defense then?

Right on. A 20" or 18" makes for a great ranch rifle. Especially because you don't want to be putting $1 bullets into yotes or critters.

For gun (pistol) recommendations not that bad ones have been suggested just I find going to the range and either renting or letting them know you’re interested in buying the combo one close to me will just charge ammo for each gun instead of rental price. It made me fall in love with the sig p365 as a compact or sub compact depending on which variant you get gun. I don’t dislike glocks they just don’t have the grip I like, but great thing about glocks is how much after market accessories exist. Tons of options to change it however you want and obviously not all, but the 3D printing community obviously loves glocks,

Range time and if offered classes are great for pretty much any level of shooter (at minimum practice). Also, even if you do live in a constitutional carry state as long as you plan on traveling I’d still get a carry permit. Now, it is also worth checking how many states actually honor your states https://www.usacarry.com/concealed-carry-permit-reciprocity-maps/ - great resource for that. Obviousl the might as well not even be America states don’t honor any states permits, but worth it if you need to travel.
