.350 Legend is definitely the new hotness, so long .224 Valkyrie, .300 HAM'R, and whatever else wonder tonic snakeoil .25 Freedom Fart cartridges came before. Does anyone here have any experience with it yet?
I also want to bitch that modern S&W revolvers have terrible aesthetics. The molded rubber grips look like squished playdough and the full underlug is gay with a long barrel.
I’ve got an AR upper for it that I use at my ranch rifle. In my area it’s cheaper and more plentiful the .300 BLK and will do a number on everything from coyote to hog. According to my finely tuned recoil measurement apparatus, AKA my shoulder, it’s got slightly more felt recoil then 5.56 62gr. Plus it has more muzzle energy then .300*.

*According to claims made by Winchester. Actual results may vary.

Does anyone on the farms have experience with shipping their P320 off for RDS milling?

I’ve decided upon the Aimpoint ACRO P2 and am completely unimpressed with the mounting options Sig offers from the factory. I especially resent that their optic ready models require you to detail strip the slide to access the plate.
Are there any slide upgrades you can purchase for the P320 instead? That may be cheaper and let you have more options. For my Glock I have a Unity Tactical that lets me easily swamp out a rmr for a delta point pro. I’m not too familiar with the P320 as a whole I just have a M17 for fun.

After many hours, a lot of sandpaper, and my grandfather's old hammer, I finally got the handguard to fit. Looks good and fits tight(even with uneven sanding on some corners). I understand why some people finish the wood after fitting it, tried to be careful but I nicked the finish a few times. Not a big deal its an AK, not a showpiece.

Which furniture set did you use? I recently swapped back on a honey-colored Polish laminate LHG in place of the steel AMD-65 piece that I was using - I keep swapping them (and the pistol grips) back and forth every few months or so just because I like fucking.around with it.

MICH/ACH run honestly somewhere between 200-500 from what I've seen. Depending on if the person selling it knows what they have and what it could be worth. Certainly not the most common ones to find in second hand stores or for sale.
If you want to get into the helmet game with a reputable helm that offers ballistic protection and modern features get a DH-132B. Can get them for $200-300 off Ebay.

There are certainly better helmets than it but youre gonna be paying 3-4x as much.

Gonna repeat this again: unless you're taking shrapnel you do not need a ballistic helmet, it is a giant waste of money to look like a cool guy. Even if you do get hit in the head and survive, you're going to be eating out of a tube for the rest of your life.

Bumps are way cheaper and will do what you spergs want just as well; mount NODs.

Speaking of helmets. May be somewhat off-topic, but does anyone know of any DOT-certified open face helmets that can mount NODs? Something civilian-looking, don't need too much attention.

Anything you can drill a mount to can mount NODs. I will say drilling into the shell of a DOT one will probably technically render it out of compliance. That being said anything you can stick the mount on should be fine. I use a ProTech skateboard helmet.

there are none that i'm aware of. military will use normal helmets with added mount (and they don't care about DOT compliance), LE has no use for night vision on a DOT helmet at all. the old school way was to use a bucket helmet, balaclava or gaiter with PVS-7 on a head strap kit.

Ninox Genesis was a modified Masei 311 motorcycle helmet that offered integrated night vision of some kind, but never hit the market - too niche, too expensive.

Thanks, I think I'll start by attaching a mount to an old DOT helmet and see how it looks. Mostly need it to appear compliant from a distance, don't think anyone will be looking at it too up close.

The idea is that I can drive around town in my off-road vehicle with the helmet, then hit the trail, turn off headlights, attach NODs, and run some trails in the dark. Whole setup is not very street legal but as long as I have a helmet, local LEOs don't care much.

You would have to be next level bored ( or small town, so still bored ) to pull someone over just to check the cert on their helmet. That's some Maryland or Virginia level of boredom.

Most modern helmets can reliably stop pistol rounds and even certain rifle rounds.

A bump helmet means your ass is DEAD.

I'd say spend the cash for an actual helmet, else use a bicycle helmet.

Ballistic helmets are great if you're prone with your face in the dirt, and shit is coming down on top of you. Otherwise it doesn't cover much, look how much of the head is exposed when standing upright.

If you’re down to spend the money for NODS you might as well spend the few hundred more for a ballistic rated helmet.

Lucky bastard - I gave up on trying to purchase an Atom slide because they’re perpetually out of stock.

I’ve yet to see anything comparable to the Atom Slide for any other platform.

Why? You'd be just as served setting that way more than a few hundred dollars on fire. I'm almost positive that the people who think they need a ballistic helmet have never worn one, and don't know what they're for. They see them in videos and shit and think that it looks cool but it's such an honest to god waste of money if you don't actually need it.

Because when you’re willing to drop 4K or more on quality nods the 3-500 different is negligible. You’re already investing in IR designators and other shit.

Wearing 1.5-1.7kg plus the weight of NODs on your head is not the most convenient thing to do long term. It's a literal pain in the neck.
