I actually like AK style sights more than peep sights, but my eyes are fucked up more than mosts. It could be you are using your non-dom eye. If you want a nice prism for the money without any mag i'd suggest the Primary Arms 1x models. They have really good eye relief, which for an AK where the optic isn't a close to your eye is a big plus.I'll go ahead and ask this question here. Got a zpapm70 this year. It's my first real rifle in my first gun year. Even though people complain about yugo compatability, this fucker is solid. My problem is maintaining a clear sight picture. Is it normal to have such a hard time aiming an ak? I've recently nail polished the post to be white, but I'm kinda cheesed off how difficult it is to aim than all my other guns. I'm taking better shots at 25 yards with a heritage rough rider. Should I replace the front post with a "high viz" option or is it perfectly acceptable to just get a prism and a mount and call it a day? I'm not averse to practice but 7.62x39mm ain't cheap and I can't buy bulk online cuz I live in a crime ridden shithole where it will be stolen and then they'll know what I have in the house.
Also, suggest just making sure the front sight is uh, intact. I had a factory install AK Sight break one of its legs that is part of how it screws down in and it was wobbly and I didn't notice for a bit because I wasn't messing with it. If the sights don't work for your eyes, get an optic. I don't subscribe to the whole "IRONS FIRST REE" shit I see online. Everyones eyesight is different. I personally cannot use red dots. Even with vision correction. It's prism or irons for me. That said, red dots have shown to make people learning to shoot learn faster. It's far more obvious with a red dot when you are doing things wrong/differently.
This ad gave me gay vibes. I think the horse cum salesmen Gaston may be approaching even more cringe territory than selling horse cum
