If you're desperate for a LRBHO but don't want to give up that delicious roller-delayed blowback, you could drop a Lingle Industries or A3 Tactical Scorpion magazine lower onto a Stribog SP9A3 for cheaper magazines, no recoil, actual integrated picatinny rails, a reachable safety and probably still be well under the price of an actual HK even with all the bells and whistles to go with it.
I recall hearing some not so nice things about the Stribog, anyone here have any experience with one?
Also I'd want something very close to the MP5 (or G3/CETME) aesthetic.
Well, there was that one guy who recreated one, it's a 4 gauge I think but still, pretty good analogue of it.
Oh right, that's the one GarandThumb showed I think. Looks the part, and it's a cool as hell gun which I'd love to have myself, but you're still gonna have to look at low sales numbers, akin to how most people have no use for a Barrett, so most people who buy them do so because they think it's cool and they can afford to spend on a luxury like that.
It wouldn't be as expensive as those custom Lugers, but you're gonna be way north of $1000 at the least, and handloading is the only option. Speaking of which, those shells look stupidly thickwalled, I can't imagine they obturate very nicely, if I was gonna put down all the money and effort on a monster shotgun like that (and lord knows I'd want to), I'd want a better solution for shells.
If it was gonna be made in the US though, you might as well start an all new design and make it a giant 4-Gauge lever-action shotgun, to make it more American.
An individual of a particular demographic catches some spicy spackle.
Christ. If he'd have stood just a tiny bit more to the right he'd been fucking trepanated. People don't really think about how these things are bombs, and how they're creating shrapnel for them.
1968 S&W-Mercox dart/needlegun; fires .22 blanks, and intended to even use explosive darts. Only 25 made

Makes me think of the OSS "Bigot," which was a bizarre contraption for converting a 1911A1 into a dart gun.
