think it could be nifty, and I like the overgrown Colt Woodsman form factor, but even on the long end the Kimball pistols had extremely short barrels for .30 Carbine, the Ruger Blackhawk and AMT Automag III were better suited by giving you a lot of length as to actually provide some worthwhile velocity, and not TOO much blast.
I feel though that there isn't all that much of a point in the cartridge for pistols beyond the novelty (like really short AR pistols), particularly when there's no cheap surplus ammo anymore. With the previously mentioned pistols, the Blackhawk can be had in regular old .357 Magnum (and bigger ones), and the Automag III could be had in 9mm Winchester Magnum, cartridges which would just be a lot more appealing. To me, anyway.
It leaves me wanting for a .30 Carbine wildcat which is just a slightly cut down case and loaded with a suitable pistol powder, as to create a double-stackable .30 caliber Magnum cartridge.
