Yeah, they're looking at completely deregulating them rather than banning them. I'm shocked, it's the first time our gun laws have moved in the right direction in a very long time.
Supressor laws are dumb af. They just make the gun non-deafening. Not silent. I blame Hollywood. If silencers were unrestricted in America I would have one for every gun.

I hope you get more guns for your enrichment problem tho. :feels:

I appreciate what that round did as a precursor to some of the LR rounds we have now. Also, because I'm such a faggot for .375 H&H, how could I not have some love for it too? If you want it as a big game cartridge, I think it can take everything in North America. If you want it as a LR round, it can do well enough but there are much better .30 options available now
Thing is there may be better, but can I find them reliabily? I can find 300 Winchester Magnum at every Walmart in my area. And the thing is it's still plenty accurate and powerful. It's still a 1400 yard round, when the best range wise from the people I know around me are 308 or 30-06, so topping off at 1000 if they push it.

And yes, it CAN take any game in North America. I actually took that into account when I bought it, for a possible Alaska hunt. That and we have Elk in Utah, as well as the elusive Moose and Bison. Not to mention it's versatile in its loadings. I can get 150 grain deer rounds for it, just as I can get 200 grain bear rounds. I have both. Personally a fan of 180, the recoil isn't as hard as 200, and less snappy than 150.

And from a astheitic perspective... it's just pretty. That .375 H&H heritage just makes it sexy. Not to mention smooth to extract. I also just like the look of the belt. Screams tough.
Seeing this kind of shit at a Cabela's makes me hate the place even more; it's like "I know what I got" and "fuck you pay me" as a franchise.

But if only I had $3k(+) to burn, and stuff like the Laugo Alien didn't exist....
:stress:
You've only managed to remind me I got a Christmas gift card with them. Sigh man.

Yeah don't see that being worth three grand unless it came with the presentation case, extra mags and an extra barrel.

Over here a lot of people have them because if you have to follow the loicensing process for the guns the police will generally ask if you want one whenever you go for a new rifle. Still a pain in the arse when you are looking to change/replace one though.

As for the enrichment, I work in a very white industry in a very white town in a very white county. The sort of place where, if the government tried shipping in any Bomalians they'd deport themselves to London of their own volition as soon as they saw the weather and lack of diversity!.

So what you're saying is you live in one of those little Wicker Man communities way out in the middle of nowhere and people stopped asking why tourists go missing twice a year for the solstices?

It's a reasonably sized town, but yeah the locals do seem a bit keen on their spring festivals at times. It feels like living in the 1990s before the world went to ratshit, it's good for the soul. I have everything within a 10 minute drive of home, including a pistol-caliber range and several beaches. Having spent a few years living in globohomo country, returning to something recognisably English was a hell of a thing.

Getting back on topic somewhat, if your politicians ever stop being shit for a moment I can heartily recommend ASE Utra suppressors. I have their SL7i-BL QD can on my .308 and its a fantastic piece of kit. Goes on in seconds over their muzzle brake and is good for ~30dB of suppression.

No it really won't. I don't say that to discourage you, just that especially with primer and powder costs these days, reloading as a way to save money is ancient history unless it's for stuff that's very rare or regionally uncommon and so eye-wateringly expensive (like .375 Cheytac). The ROI is on having loaded rounds available to you when you want (provided you have a stockpile of the components, of course) and being able to tailor a round to your rifle(s) that far exceeds factory ammo in consistent performance. Also, if you want rounds that are uncommon or are charged differently than factory ammo, hand loads are the way to go. The one thing I'll tell you on this post without devolving into a very long autistic monologue is to consider what you plan on reloading most often and then do research on what setups will save you the most time. Many people forget to factor time into reloading costs and I assure you it matters.
You buttfucker, I was looking at reloading presses just the other night because I'm tired of paying $30 shipping on a $30 box of LRN 38 standard and $40 for 30-30 half jacket because none of my stores keep them in stock. Way to kill my mood. XD

If you're shooting a lot of expensive rounds consider getting one of these annealing machines to stretch the life of your cases to basically forever.

They also claim it's the best way to get retard tier accuracy but I'm iffy on the claim, however it absolutely does get rid of case stress and make em last forever.
I own the AMP Mark II DB (my bad, it's just the Mark II) and have used it a hell of a lot since I got it last year. I've not seen any improvement in accuracy from it but I got it improve case life, not contribute to accuracy.

You can easily find .300 PRC or even .300 Norma Mag if you want the crazy 30 caliber ELR stuff no problem. It sounds as if you want this rifle to kill big game and you're not terribly concerned about LR performance. Locally I have no clue on but I've not bought ammo from a local business in about a decade. I only order online and then have the shipments redirected to a local store for whichever carrier.

Another note if you want to start reloading .300 Win Mag: properly annealed and otherwise cared for, one can easily get into double digit reloadings of a case. The problem most guys have is with the brass bulging above the belt after a few firings. This guy makes a die that resolves that issue. I've gotten 12 firings out of Hornady H&H brass before I tossed the case and it probably could have gone more. I was using 76 grains of H4350 to drive a 270 grain A-Frame so I was being cautious there.

So as I said earlier, keep your brass and you can not only get a lot more life out it than you think, you can create rounds that wring max performance out of the rifles you own.

PS: Hornady One Shot sucks dick. Either commit to giving every case an Imperial Sizing Wax coat or make your own lanolin-based case lube.

you just have to find stuff they don't know anything about. The fort worth store has a sharps carbine made in 1863 that was converted to .50-70 govt. for just $1,499. it has a broken stock but that could be replaced fairly easily since new sharps rifles are made by several companies and stocks are made by several more.

the site is the best way to browse the gun library and i think they do free shipping to your local cabelas for transfer.

That's a skit, right? No muzzle movement at all. Dude looks like he's laughing.
I ask because my buddy and I growing up would do "Manhood tests" while hunting. And randomly while walking or in a tree, we'd shoot 30-06 or .22 or whatever we would be out hunting with as close to the other guys' feet as we could without hitting them and see if they jumped or whatever.
And one day he was pointing the barrel just a bit too close to my thigh and now I have a long scar and a powder burn where the bullet whizzed right past my ankle and grazed me.
That Jojo pose and look on other dude's face just brought back a flood of memories.

can't say for sure if it was a joke or not. it seems TRUE and HONEST but sometimes i have the social skills of an autistic person

my personal opinion is I think you're a real piece of shit shooting a gun so close to someone's foot like that. i get the whole "fucking with your friend" to see what would happen aspect but i wouldn't want to try and hurt someone as a joke

I don't disagree. Kids out in the sticks with pilfered booze make a lot of dumb decisions.

I heard from a friend that reloading means you spend the same amount on ammo but get to shoot more. Lmao.

i'm feeling compelled, as if beyond my own wills, to get my bobcat's slide/barrel engraved with floral patterns and then plated with gold looking titanium nitride. this is the same drive that made me get this gun in the first place and i will post results when this happens. this is not just a threat.

Actually it means you spend a shit ton of money to see a lot more graphs, statistics, trigonometry, and plastic containers of various types around your house. You also become a next-level autist.

Highly recommended.

Being able to knock out the round and reset its height would be useful.
Don't knock it out. Assuming these are pistol rounds, use an impact bullet puller to move the round out of the case some (the Frankford Arsenal one is pretty good). Then use your seating die to get it back to where you want it. If you unseat the round entirely you'll have to expand the mouth, measure and pour a new powder charge, seat the bullet and then crimp the case again.

I know you don't have all this yet. I'm talking about when you have these.

I'm planning on getting into it because I clean my gun monthly after range time and do frequent dry fire. Rechambering rounds seats the boolet deeper so I rotate the JHPs downrange more than I would like and sort them based on OAL measured by my Mitutoyos. Being able to knock out the round and reset its height would be useful.

Long story short, the autism is already there.

it entirely depends on what it is you are reloading. you will not save money on 9mm or .223. you will save money on full size hunting cartridges and revolver rounds. I have reloaded 5,000+ rounds of .45 colt over the last ~4 years for about the price of 1,000 store bought ammo.

Where I am (not US), reloading 9mm is still just barely cheaper than buying factory. I do go through a fair volume though.
I could maybe save a little by getting into making and powder coating my own projectiles but it's the powder and primer price increases in the last 5 years that really hurt.
Still worth reloading for making barely-power-factor competition rounds and just having a stock of components at home to make bullets anytime you need.
I don't bother reloading rifle calibres because I don't need the volume like I do with 9mm.
