i just want my hundred and fifty man

oh shit is there a tri lug adapter for those? i'm dangerously close to getting a can and i'll put it on my ARV dressed up as an MP5 so that nobody but me knows what the fuck is going on

I'm not sure, but I'm sure you could find the info easily either by Googling or checking Dead Air's website or writing to their sales department.

Colt Detective was only available in .32, .38 Short, and .38 Special - i'd agree that a Colt Detective would probably meet his needs, but his post indicated .357 or .45 Colt specifically. since i don't think anyone made .45 Colt into a reasonably modern revolver like that (.45 Long Colt being an exception since i've seen a couple floating around), i think .357 is the likely candidate.

people who wanted a .357 variation had to get a S&W since it was a S&W-only cartridge for many years. eventually Colt marketed the Colt Magnum Carry for a short time before killing it off and instead offering a factory carry version of the Python.
Oh fuckin' duh, I could've sworn that I've seen a Detective Colt in 45Colt at some point. Good catch.

@Falcos_Commisar the only appropriate suppressor for a Krink would be the Dead Air Wolverine since it's designed after the Ruskie suppressors that were made for the AKS-74U, but it's a modern Western can so you get better sound reduction. I believe they're one of the more affordable rifle cans and fairly flexible since they're a .30 can.

Good to know.

That said, was it Dead Air that had absolutely horrific QC fuck ups recently or another bigger name silencer company?

This is probably something I'm better off asking on arfcom or something, but I've been saving up for a Super Duty and was trying to determine how long I should wait on sales. My understanding is that Geissele discounts pretty heavily, but I don't know if I can wait till Black Friday.
Geisselle has BIG sales around memorial day so in a week they'll start. 😊

I'll be getting a Blemula handguard

Any clue about the springs being used in them?

There is also a version chambered in 9mm Atlay (super niche cartridge that only exists because of the retarded Russian regulations regarding shotguns and rifles, and more specifically what defines a shotgun and what defines a rifle) that has an ambidextrous charging handle

I got one of their 14.5 URGI uppers stupid cheap last year near memorial day. Don't remember exact pricing now but I do remember double checking the URL to make sure it wasn't a scam site because it seemed too good to be true.

new colts
Hot take but I don't like the full underlug and vented rib look.
Give me a new production Colt Commando and I'd give them the time of day, or I might just get a Python and send it to one of the full-retard gunsmiths out there to mimic the look.

The Viper is close, but not enough.

I'm wary of exposed ejector rods, they can get bent fairly easily. on my charter arms the rod likes to unthread. it'll fall off if i don't watch it. IMO Half lug is best for a balance of aesthetics and durability.

the spec sheets on the new colts if anyone is interested. there is a typo on the kodiak's sheet. 48 pounds lol. in a world oversaturated with polymer wonder nines and AR's these are a welcome sight.

Don't ask me why I agree with you, please. Don't know if anyone has ever tried to remove a bent ejector. They don't like to be bent.

I'm cringing even thinking about it. I had a moon clip that was bent imperceptibly. cylinder closed all right but getting it back open was a p a i n
Fun fact, that's why detectives would carry 2 revolvers. One to shoot, then when you ran out, you used the butt of the other one to smash the cylinder open.

Source? I made it the fuck up.

Had a fudd legit tell me something was wrong with my gun making such big flames. "It's ported" huh?
Boomers can't die soon enough and leave get their collections sold for pennies on dollar by their kids.

I want a gun but am worried I’ll shoot myself one day. Any suggestions?
Keep it in a locked safe, and the bullets in an inaccessible location. Most suicide deaths from guns occur because it seems like a quick solution. Similar thoughts occur with other suicide methods, where the most effective deterrent is making it difficult or lengthy to actually pull off, giving you more time to become clear headed.

Guns are fun, but need to be respected for sure. If this seems like too much of a risk for you, don't risk it. You can have fun with a buddies gun, or rent one at a cool range. Guns can be enjoyed without bullets even, with laser training systems for stuff like quick draw and bullseye training. Lots of people don't even shoot their guns, they just build them because they are like legos when you get to AR platform builds.

So whatever capacity you end up interacting with guns, welcome to the Mega Rad Gun Thread :)

barrel porting has been around since the 1950s as a standard option on commercial revolvers, since the 1800s if you're talking just the idea of drilling a couple holes to handle and redirect some gasses out of the barrel after a shot. heck even the model 19 (the original 4" S&W .357 Magnum performance center version) offered porting from the factory's custom shop. it wasn't long before you saw a few automatics with it, but it was a bit primitive - mostly it was a drill and honing jig at the factory for threaded suppressors like on the High-Standard Supermatic 101.

Mag-Na-Port was started in the mod 90's by Larry Kelley with EDM, but he was (along with Ed Brown and Bill Wilson) some of the first to offer porting of an automatic handgun as an aftermarket option for pretty much any 1911 or auto you liked. H&K offered porting (of a kind) for the MP5SD, and it can be argued that any barrel with an integrated muzzle brake is "ported". shotguns (less common) and rifles (more common, especially on safari rifles) have been ported too since before it was used on pistols.

rather than a fudd, he just sounds like a dumbass.

people of all generations can be clueless and self absorbed. especially those who are into a hobby just enough to be superior but not enough to actually be knowledgeable.
porting has been a thing for at least 100 years. IIRC john dillengers full auto .38 super 1911 was ported.
