Everything is a headache with the ATF involved.
FTFY. Seriously though, an entire agency existing to make up their own laws-oh, sorry "rules" out of thin air about what piece of plastic on the buffer tube on my AR is or isn't a felony, the angle of a forward grip, the barrel length of a shotgun or AR, and the uninformed public believing that supressors could help you commit a mass shooting with nobody being able to hear it while it's happening is a massive embarrassment. I want a USAS because it looks sexy and activates my gun 'tism, I don't wanna open carry the damn thing to go grocery shopping.

I can see it now, the Squad Drone Defense Weapon, using something like a rimless 12-Gauge or 16-Gauge shell with a rounded nose. Not actually sure what shot is best for drones, does any light birdshot cut it, or would you want something with more punch like number 4 buck?
I'd say birdshot would be ok if nothing else was available, but I'd still want something with a little more push & mass; especially if it's meant for countering FPV drones. 3 or 4 buck might be ideal because I'd think that while birdshot would definitely damage the drone, it's own velocity & weight might still allow it to land near enough to target to count. When one of those things is screaming down at me I'd want to blow pieces off the thing as far away as possible, not just pepper it with tiny pellets which might cause it to crash.... eventually.

For drones that loiter high (i.e. Mavics) birdshot probably wouldn't be able to reliably cause enough damage to down them. But besides all that, someone mentioned Flite Control shells earlier ITT, and I think those would probably be a pretty good thing for hunting drones at altitude. Goose guns ftw.
Birdshot should do, just need to take out a controller, a battery, or a couple of propellers to bring the whole thing down. Or just damage the wiring enough. Most have exposed internals for weight savings so not much in the way of protection.
Which inevitably leads to my next thought; if/when shotguns become ubiquitous, it won't be long before someone starts armoring drones (at least the larger/more powerful ones).

So far I've seen both Mavic and Matrice types return with bullet holes through spars & rotors, although FPVs will probably always be fairly fragile by nature, but even those could be hardened against birdshot. And along with using materials for printing rotors & frames/armatures that don't crack or shatter when damaged, I've also heard several builders talk about their FPVs basically having inertial guidance so that if the camera, controller, or transmitter-receiver is damaged/jammed, they will still fly whatever heading it was on when signal or image is lost. Scary shit.

May be possible to use thin kevlar sheeting to protect sensitive components. Or just integrate 3d printed armor into the 3d printed frame/chassis of the drone, can just add a semi-hollow "tubulane" armored box to hold components.

See: https://hackaday.com/2019/11/20/university-makes-bulletproof-3d-prints/
Having the interior structure be more mesh-like with gaps inside will make it lighter than solid armor and will dissipate energy from impacts more effectively. Considering it needs protection mostly from bird shot and shrapnel, this may work. Maybe have an outer skin of thin kevlar to absorb initial impact or something.

Well, my Vox rifle suppressor has arrived. I will be going in tomorrow to get my photo and finger prints taken and use the Silencer Shop kiosk to e-file my individual Form 4. Hopefully the turn around time will be quick. I still need to get a KeyMo hub and matching muzzle device, but at least the can is here.

Also, my Trijicon RCR has shipped and should be here Friday, so thankfully it being in stock at Midway USA wasn't a glitch or bug and they were actually in stock, since I haven't seen them in stock anywhere else. Still need to get the mounting plate to put it on my Staccato. Damn I hate being broke.

I am now the proud owner of a pre Freedom group but post Clinton ban Bushmaster XM-15 E2S HBAR. Got 10% off on it and I pick it up tommorow.

Well now that my computer is done, I'm saving up for guns again. Personally thinking between four or five options really:
1. S&W Model 10 so I can have a long barrel 6 shot 38 special to compliment my Model 36 J frame. Probably get this one used.
2. S&W SD40VE for a semi auto 40 cal on the cheap I can tinker with and have a tinker gun
3. RIA mag fed shotgun (I'm still missing a shotty)
4. Beretta 92 so I can have a classy full sized 9mm.
5. 22 revolver, probably the Wrangler from Ruger, so i can finally have a 22.

This is what I'm thinking rn. Probably going to be one of the cheaper pistol options, mostly because of space, and I want a house pistol.

Many, many moons ago I was able to buy one of the later versions of the SPAS-12 with the updated safety, fixed polymer stock, and shorter magazine extension used, but still sealed in the box. One of my local bang shops had two of them on consignment from the same owner/seller. He had bought two of them with one to shoot, and one to keep in the box. I think I paid $850 for it in 2005, which was a steal for a LNIB SPAS-12 even back in the early aughts. I ended up hating the thing. It was perfectly reliable for me, even with low brass bird and skeet loads. But it was heavy, had uncomfortable recoil, and reloading it was a pain in the ass since you had to flip it onto its back and hold down a mushroom shaped release button for the loading gate/lifter in order to shuck shells into the magazine tube. And firing high brass slugs or buckshot in pump mode was one of the most uncomfortable shooting experiences I've ever had, and I'm used to stout recoil. I can shoot .300 WinMag and hot .45-70 Govt all day and be fine, but that SPAS-12 beat the hell out of me. I ended up taking it to a gun show with a for sale tag sticking out of the muzzle and got like $1250 for it. My FosTech Origin 12 totally stomps all over that SPAS-12.

😡😠😤 NO LOOKING COOL IS ALL THAT MATTERS AND THE SPAS-12 LOOKS FUCKING COOL

I know the SPAS-12 is an uncomfortable bitch to shoot but it's COOL

Small Estate Sales happen, though the other boomers a week away from death swarm the remains and add to their own hoard.
The Day of the Estate Sale will be great -- but will we even want what's left, after surviving so long without them?
Fuck yes and fuck you I want my fucking Valmet you goddamn boomer sonsofbitches and I'm not paying ten grand

Yep, they all collect a SS check, pension check and maybe even make a small 401k wothdr and swarm the estate sales

Boomers will act in hubris until the last one croaks. The last boomer in America will have the world's largest "fuck you, I got mine" hoard in human history. That being said, the current market probably has better stuff than everything the boomers hoarded anyways. Who needs an SKS when you can still get a mid tier AR for $600?

Collectors will have a field day though.

So true.

Sebastian Villaseñor from Ontario Christian High School in California just avoided prison time after potentially planning to committed mass school shooting, google how to kill people, and being interested in the Columbine School shooting. He just got off with no prison time by the DA plead agreement.

Lol, this is what "no bitches " looks like

IIRC the lever style safety was the original and the push button was the newer version. And yeah, the SPAS has a rubber buffer internally that ends up drying out and crumbling. They're a bitch to replace since Franchi doesn't make them anymore and I'm sure they have long run out of NOS parts.

🥺 Yeah the buffer is either rubber or delrin.

This is like choosing a flavor of ice cream from the world's largest ice cream shop. A local store has an online exclusive offer for a Rossi R92 in stainless for $679 and in store pickup. Stainless is perfect for my local climate too.

I just might...

Do it. For the price, not too bad plus stainless. My Marlin is blued as thee was no stainless .357 option.

A local pawn shop has a Ruger Ar 556 for under $600. Doesn't get more basic bitch AR than that and Ruger's stuff is pretty solid for the price.

I'm actually selling mine right now with a PA red dot and Magpul handguards. My FFL put it up a few days ago.

You make a good case. Would you consider Henrys decent enough?

Yep, Ruger is making them very well.

I will always shill building your own lower and getting a BCM upper

That works, or a DD upper, Geisselle upper (if you LOVE that handguard and their colors), and many many more.

Or make your own upper with a few tools.

I'd Strongly suggest the PSA "Premium " upper. It's better components for something like $50-$100 more.

Lower is A ok.

You can actually get replacement buffers, Spas12 Project makes them, aside from other spare parts.
https://www.spas-12.com/
You should NOT shoot a SPAS-12 in automatic mode if the buffer is dried out or missing, that'll make the recoil more nasty and it'll beat up the receiver.

Ahh they're still around. Their site went dead for a few months in 2020.

Ehh nah. You're adding closer an weight to what's supposed to be cheap and light.

Every ounce of armor is an ounce less payload, less range and more cost.

It depends on the overall weight, if it's an FPV that has a payload of a pound or two, it would not be a huge issue if it ends up offering some more protection. Considering it would be an integral part of the frame, it should not add that much weight. Can add wire conduits inside the frame instead of running the wires outside, etc. But the current designs still have a lot of other weak spots so protecting the electronics may not be a priority.

kaboomed SPAS-12
i'm more willing to bet someone jamming a magnum shell into it. the SPAS and LAW 12's only accept 2-3/4" shells, with a max OAL (when fired) of 2-5/8" which will fit the 3" leade in the SPAS-12 (for example). an unfired 12ga magnum shell is about 2-1/2" to 2-7/8" and it'll physically fit, but firing it will 100% damage the bolt, excessive recoil and likely snap an extractor.

Got everything submitted for my suppressor. So any time from two days to a month and I should have it.

Get one in honor of Paul.
I mean out of the many reasons to get a Beretta 92, that is a good one. Really I've just always liked the 92. All steel, all black, one of the OG wonder 9s still in production, based on the Walther, the looks, 17 rounds for plenty of firepower which includes +p, the US used it for over 30 years, I could go on.
92fs_zoom003.png
It'll take a while but I definitely could. The base model would probably be plenty in my price range tbh.

Edit: still thinking about a Model 10.
M&Prevolver (1).jpg
It would depend on price honestly. With tax a base model Beretta 92 is 770 in my area currently at Sportsmans Warehouse, which is a pretty good price gauge I've found. I've already invested in 38 Special, so in terms of logistics, I wouldn't be changing all that much. But it has to be a GOOD price for a Model 10. Otherwise I'm going for the Beretta.

Guys I have a really important question

Should I buy an H&K USP Elite in .45 ACP
USP Elite.jpg
It's pretty cool and I like it a little.

Or should I buy a Lorcin L-22
Lorcin.jpg
They stopped making them so I figure I should get on the bandwagon early.

I can only get one, so that's why it's really really important.

The Elite looks the most badass, and it's a 45 with a long barrel. That's a show stopper.
