yes, multiple times and once in a more official capacity. it is not worth it in anything but bursts imho, and even that i would want a compensated and fairly heavy machine pistol than something like a Glock 18C. had one, demo'd it a few times, sold it on. completely worthless without a stock, and mediocre with a stock. there was utility in being able to brace it against a shield or something if there was a little shelf to rest it against. best situation i used was a micro UZI with the little folding stock and it was just heavy enough to be controllable fairly easily, but 20 rounds goes quick and outside of some very weird situations with armored car guards it still lack utility of a larger SMG.

Best SMG/platform, in your opinion? MP5 is a cop out, pick something else.

i have a soft spot for the Colt RO635, but imho if i couldn't use an MP5 of some flavor i would prefer something like the Sa 26 / Vz. 48 for serious work or the Jatimatic for meme value. i can accomplish a lot with a Sa 26 and some good 124gr 9mm ammo. they're relatively simple guns, easy to maintain, and are very tolerant of abuse while being pretty reliable with some care taken for ammunition quality.

Alright, I think this will be my final question before I have my carts loaded and ready to check out. I scoured the product listing but I didn’t see an explicit confirmation so I want to ask you guys to be sure before I buy something that turns out to be useless. Are these sights compatible with MLOK? I googled if all Magpul are compatible with MLOK but doesn’t seem like it.

Front sight
Rear sight

Edit nevermind the rear sight has a description that says Picatinny which is retarded because I just saw that Magpul created MLOK so wtf am I supposed to get

Question: considering it’s a pretty much unanimous opinion that Italy’s WW2 Lmg the Breda 30 was a complete piece of shit, would it have been possible for Italy to have made copies of the MG 38 or MG 42 in 6.5 Carcano instead?

They had were offered a deal to make the Panzer III and Panzer IV in late 1942 but they had to provide a percentage of the parts themselves. The Italians turned this offer down because they didn't want the Germans taking over their arms industry, and decided to upgrade their shitty locally made tanks instead.

Same thing probably would've happened with that proposal too. Their fascist regime was too protectionist for its own good.

Cmmg Banshee. Delayed blowback like the MP5, but you can actually mount stuff to it. Rate of fire is higher than mp5 though.

Anyone here ever run a full auto pistol? I've gotten a tiny bit of trigger time on submachine guns, so I better understand why some groups run those. But a full auto pistol like the Glock 18 I can't see the utility of, that's why I'm asking you all.

I’ve shot full auto converted Glocks (post sample) and they are pretty worthless even up close. I’m sure a stock would make it better, but at that point just use a proper SMG. Any shitty direct blowback SMG is still miles better.

Anyone here have/had/used a Leupold Deltapoint Micro? I was thinking of getting one to put on a Gen 5 G30. So far the people I've talked to that own them say they're ugly but rock solid. And everyone else says they're poop.

I've had one and it turned off after 2 mags after installing it, wouldn't turn back on. With another fresh battery (I had put a new battery in when I installed it the first time) it flickered on and off and after a single magazine it turned off again and wouldn't turn back on. I got rid of it.

Picatinny is the rail on top, primarily for sights. MLOK is generally on the sides as mounting points on the handguard.

The rifle I’m looking at specifically says “MLOK free float handguard,” so that only applies to the other rails besides the top rail? I don’t understand why that would be the case but I’m willing to defer to your knowledge on the subject. With that being said, I have a rifle, Mapgul back ups, 225 rounds of ammunition, 5 extra mags and a carrying case picked out. I sincerely appreciate everyone brute forcing me into making a decent purchase.

Edit i waited too fucking long and the 100 rounds + 5 mags deal ran out of stock fuck cock ass nigger cum

Should I buy one of these damn pricey (265.00 not including tax or shipping) pic rails for my MG3? I think it'd be super cool running a eotech 512 or acog on it but eugh I dunno. I just loaded belts today pondering this. I know its Jewy to ask considering how much the guns are but I find it silly it costs this much.

Here is a visual for what @WhoBusTank69 is talking about. This is pretty basic, man.

Picatinny were what I used back in the day in the Corps, but the trend has been to slimmer and lighter rails using systems like M-lok. The trade off is that they're less rigid.

Run? As in keep as useful ready gear? No, certainly not. I have given a post sample Glock Switch a try on a Gen 2, 17. The first thing I will say about the infamous Glock switch is it requires minor but some modification to the frame, it also requires timing adjustment based on the auto sear trip, they are literally making these things in China so the QC depends if you have legally acquired one but many require the sear trip to be polished down to engage properly. You'll know its right when you hold down the trigger and hear that striker snap the last 1/8" of slide travel.

A full auto pistoll single grip pistol is fucking stupid to me, unless your some crazed assassin and you just want to magdump into someone 3 feet away, it's pointless. I got to test drive a post sample for about 30 rounds and said "WTF is the point of this"? As far as I know only the IDF used the glock 18 and they used it with the 5 minute install SBR stock. Because when they needed to raid an urban area for some reason it was like a favela in Brazil, bunch of cramped tight living situations. Tight corners no engagement past 5 yards even possible. I suppose glock 18 with stock and front grip is the lightest thing possible. Lighter and possible cheaper than an UZI or MP5.

I don't have ton of FA experience and I have no actual firefight combat experience, never even fired a shot at Haji. IMHO FA is novelty even in an M4, FA has two roles, 9mm SBR's for urban detail like police tactical work and heavy support weapons like the old M60.

This dudes 1911 almost cost more than all my shit together.
$15000 for a 1911. I wouldn't dare fire the damn thing. I'd be worried to take it out the safe lol.
Must be nice to have the money.

This is fine.

MBUS Gen 2 or 3 are good to go.

Yep or a copy of the Czech Vz.26

That's the direct predecessor to the BREN and Japanese Type 96 and Type 99 LMGs.

The Italians used reasonably good belt fed MGs too from Breda and FIAT.

Not exactly, the Italians didn't have the welding tech necessary to make these tanks and by the time they did Italy was split between Allies and Axis and it's industrial potential was shot to hell.

Italy wanted better tanks/planes/AFVs but their industry just wasn't quite up to the task.

Remember, they didn't give the "GO" to mechanize the Italian Army until.... 1938 😩

They finally figured out their 90mm AA gun was an great anti tank gun..... In early 1943.

FA was found to be extremely use for clearing rooms, trenches, suppressing fire and for shooting people running across distances.

3 round / 2 round burst was found to be almost useless.

FA has its uses and should be kept on any modern assault rifle. It's also a morale booster.

At least they finally got rid of the star cut-outs on the triggers which looked like fucking stripper tattoos. Also not surprised they're jumping on the damascus trend; just like all the pens, card cases, rigid wallets/money clips, bottle openers, kitchen utensil sets, cheap pocket knives, etc.

Their meteorite 1911 was pretty tits though.... except for that gay trigger.

OK I want to see the sources on those studies. The very first original M16 as fielded by the first army to ever use it, the US Army infantry was true select fire in the southern indochina conflict AKA Vietnam war. Within 20 years they kept almost exactly the same rifle and removed the full auto select fire option replacing it for the 3 round burst. Just previous to that was the M14 it was was also select fire and it lasted shorter in US military infantry use than any rifle in history. Field report formed from studies were that basic infantry would hear twig snap somewhere and magdump into the brush despite their CO telling the entire squad "only shoot what you can ID, keep the rifle in semi." Full Auto in a real full power .30 caliber cartridge like 7.62 nato, 30.06 8mmm Mauser even if you are a big 300lb dude shooting prone you are going to have so much trouble sending anything after that 3 round near your intended target. original M16's no optics were just shy of 7.5lbs compared to the M60 which was around 20lbs or so. It was nice and heavy designed for sustained full auto for 500 rounds, simply not enough metal to deal with the heat in early full auto M16's. IMHO moral is always going to be compromised in equipment and command. In WW2 The Germans thought the 1911 was superior to the Luger, some of the GI's assumed the luger was more accurate and 9mm being far better for repeating fire. The grass is always greener. Bringing a bolt action gun to a gas operated fight was dumber than sand, especially when they knew how effective the MG34 could be.

The SBR in 9mm FA will always have use for law enforcement or security detail. IMHO The beauty of 9mm is it's not going to over penetrate and you can simply drill someone in FA 25 rounds of anything .32 acp or larger they are almost guaranteed to die within 2 seconds, Gordan Ingram knew that, based half his designs on that idea. It's either the MP5 or the M60 FA in actual combat in the standard issue assault rifle makes no sense to me.

i wanted to highlight this deal: https://palmettostatearmory.com/truglo-ignite-22mm-2-moa-red-dot-sight-black-tg8322bn.html

$40 for a truglo red dot with integrated mount.

yeah it's chinesium and lacks a lot of rugged reliability you would want in a dot. however i have one on a knocked together shit AKM (AMD-64) build as a post-sample purely to test any AK parts that i sometimes get asked about or to work on and it's held up to a steady diet of 7.62x39 steel case bullshit and being thrown around in a truck bed for the better part of 7 years now. i paid $89 for it in 2017 thereabouts, and at that price you're better off with a primary arms optic or vortex.

at $40 it's worth it and i can confirm that my sample at least holds up on a remington 11-87 i SBS'd as well.
