The DAO trigger on the 5946 isn't that bad imho.
At least, mine isn't. I got mine at a local shop who came across some NIB 5946's in a warehouse. Probably should have got a 5906 instead, but the DAO trigger is actually fairly smooth, like a carry revolver. I'm not sure if I would describe it as "DAO" as its sort of like an LEM or a DAK in that its sort of a "pre-cocked" lighter DA pull. Dry fire with mine is shittle like an LEM in that you have to reset the hammer for every dryfire, unlike something with an actual DA trigger like a true SA/DA.
You get the same pull every time with a slick slide, a classy point-and-click adventure with a nice machined chunk of stainless steel.
Gotta be honest, not a fan of the 3rd gen pistol magazine safety, either, but its easy enough to remove if I want to, which I probably won't, as its just a fun range toy.
