Personally, I hate Valmets. Bigger fan of the Bulgarian guns though. I really want to SBR the side folding 58 and rechamber it into 300 blackout suppressed (or run my own subsonic 7.62 loads) just to meme on people.

it is an excellent rifle. anyone who dislikes it is a faggot who sucks major dick. i am a purist only when it comes to history. i like AKs in stock configuration for the history of it. i get to shoot it as millions of soldiers have since the rifle came out. but when it comes to practicality purism goes out the door, and anyone who says differently is a retard.

Bulgarian plum stocks are the chadest of all ak stocks. you cant convince me any other way. as for SBR, it has been a dream of mine to get a well built SBR krinkov. id prefer it in 5.45 but ill take one in 7.62
 
I converted my Vz52 to 762x39 and its very pleasant to shoot. Much more pleasant than an SKS. Its hard to explain, but the recoil impulse is more violent, but much more soft than an SKS. The Vz feels like a slap, while the SKS feels like a shove. I think its the bolt carrier weight and velocity. The Vz bolt is lighter and smaller, but travels faster. While the SKS bolt is heavier and slower. The only problem with the Vz is that the 762x45 mags occasionally cause jams when using 762x39.

I've got a few guns that I want just because I want it: Winchester Model 71 (basically the Winchester 1886, but with more modern, stronger steel and chambered in .348 Win), Winchester 1895 in either .405 Win or .30-06, Wildey Survivor with barrels in .45 WinMag and .475 Wildey, Mauser C96, Luger, FN SAFN/FN49 in either 8mm Mauser or .30-06, FG-42 G (would settle for a semi-auto repro), Gew-42, and the M1918A2 (would settle for the Ohio Ordnance Works semi-auto M1918A3 reproduction). Most of my "want just because I want" guns are because of uniqueness and historical reasons. I also really want an M1A1 Thompson, but that's one I would not settle for being semi-auto and having a 16" barrel. It wouldn't have to be an original, I'd be happy with a reproduction, but it has to at least be built and function like an original.

If money was no object, I'd own an original Walker Colt.

Other than that, I'd commission my own oddball ideas into working guns. I have plenty of ideas but they're all REALLY stupid, so I'll keep them to myself.

Yeah, I just like the history of them, and they look pretty nifty. Funny enough I've had a lust for them a long time Yesterday Mrs Basso and I were in Philly, and on the Olympia, (she's a good girl) they have a few on board the blue jackets used em.

Normally the tours are self guided but sometimes they have people and being a holiday weekend they did, the guide was nice and knew the ship but kinda glanced over "so there was an armory on board and for landings sometimes the sailors helped like modern day marines" Not incorrect just short. But next to the big ole breech loaders even if you were into guns who cares about a rifle? lol.

I mentioned, those are Lee's and I restrained my /k/ autism (this is NOT easy) and said, same guy who made the famous British rifles for the world wars. Then everyone stood up and clapped, by that I mean no one gave a shit but the guide smiled in that "this is a real smile that's gonna help me on my next tour" not the corp polite.

Ross are really cool guns but, don't tickle me in that same way the 6mm lee does. I just have to have one, and thankfully while there's other shit to buy/invest/save. I want it I got some extra cash and it's happening.

Yah, I'll always give it light loads, I probably won't shoot it a ton, but then again. Anything I own I DO shoot at some point, maybe it's a rocking gun and it ends up often to the range. I have my books on reloading data, so no bubba spicy loads. But Deer season is coming, I often use my FR8 because it's just such a fucking lovely rifle for a hunt, hiking a few miles it's short light, 308 drops bucks with out a question, great sights for close nice action. Also it's a beaut!

But now I have my Kennedy Killing Karbine, I kinda wonder how that would do vs a deer....

Also, thanks for entertaining me and sharing your guns you want just cause stories :)

really? i've shot one once and it was kinda awful. now to be fair, i had also just shot a full-auto ar so maybe it's just the comparison i'm remembering, but i couldn't get any sort of grouping with it at all and the rof was way, way lower than i thought it would be, and the open bolt trigger wasn't very satisfying. i honestly kinda regret paying for it, the same store had a grease gun and i can't help but think how much more fun that would've been.
 
the Colt Detective Special is a pretty sweet gun. A vintage revolver like that can be worth more than 2k new and 400-1k used (depending on where you're getting it and when it was made). I held one before and it's very nice for smaller hands like mine.

Id love a collection of vintage guns someday, probably gonna be mostly revolvers but I would love to have a gun that loads clips one day as well

Have you all heard *of M+M? I hadn't until Chris covered their third gen AK-style rifle earlier today. Sounds interesting and market price seems to be right about what a new BCM costs.

The only problem I can see with it is that it currently only comes in 7.62X39. If they made this in 5.56 I bet it'd be rad. I definitely have plenty of long-stroke piston 5.56 rifles currently, but can't say I wouldn't be tempted to pick up another one.

*Edit: try not to sustain a TBI, fellas. It creates a lot of annoying problems in life.

I bought two S&W victory parts kits one I am redoing stock as a homage to USAF pistol the other will be some kinda fitz special sin like that but more ghetto and sad.
