Has there been anything about the XM7 being used in Ukraine? You think it would be a perfect test ground if you equipped a couple people at the front lines with it just to see how it performs.

That would complicate logistics with its new special snowflake cartridge, plus I don't think the military industrial complex wants examples to fall into Russian hands.

Prototype of a MSD 5.56 caseless assault rifle (Munition Sans Douche). The rate of fire and selector appear to be electrically operated, and the weapon is fed from a magazine located above the barrel.

This MSD is the equivalent of the HK G11, much better known and having benefited from more advanced development.

I don't see that happening. 5.45 and 5.56 seems to be dealing with the body armor issue just fine tbh.

Also does anyone know what good hollow points in 40 S&W are? I know Speer is a no brainer, I'm just wondering about everything else.

Edit, I just want to note the Afghanistan army equipment page on Wikipedia notes the SDVE as a pistol the Taliban have. Lol. I'm buying a Afghanistan certified pistol.

these were part of an aid package to ANSF, which was ANA+ANP unit after the invasion to handle police duties and general security. prior to this they had a lot of old Beretta and Soviet gear, as well as some Glocks and lend-lease stuff, old WW2 gear like Hi Powers, cold war stuff from central europe like Czech Republic or Hungarian body armor and rifles, et c. upper end people had stacks of MP5-PDW's and AKSU's or similar as part of a modernization effort years ago that never went anywhere. while working with my ANA counterparts, there was a lot of law enforcement re-training and indoctrination to break down tribal and familial affiliations and develop a more cultural and national esprit de corps and help unify things between otherwise disparate tribal/rural groups and the cities and help remove some pretty deep-seated divisions among the population.
 
When I still had a pistol in that caliber & when I could find (or afford) it, I stuck with Barnes TAC-XPD 140gr. or Underwood 135gr. JHP. When my stash got low I could mix them in magazines and not see much of a difference hitting point of aim, unlike Hornady & Federal. Which was surprising, but it may have just been me.

And speaking of...
While it probably depends on the pistol & magazines, I've had issues with Hornady Crit Defence jamming against the top of the chamber, especially the first & second rounds; this happened most in pistols with a steep feed angle/ramp. It seemed counterintuitive to me due to the narrow tip & conelike shape, but I've never had the same issue with anything else.

I don't know what's going on here, It's a Val, being held by Konstantin Lazarev, but it doesn't have the associated (and very poorly designed) suppressor. Val modified to act as an SR-3? Super short "Moderator", BFA? (I've never even heard of such a thing)

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the reason we gave them Sigmas was due to how insanely cheap the .gov could get them. I bet they spent like $100 per pistol, lmao.

Better than a hi-point, imho.

12ga Full choke is 0.35" smaller than cylinder bore (0.729") and Extra Full choke is 0.40" smaller. Extra Full is also known as a Turkey choke. Skeet 1 and 2 are also rare chokes you don't see much these days.

its a 70 year old euro SxS. its just the way these old swede shotguns are. all the old unmodded ones i have scene have been FullxFull. this one is tighter than usual though.

if it's a Husqvarna, then typically the right barrel will be tighter, that's the only old Swedish shotgun i have experience with. shotguns older than about 1960, or 1930 in europe, will be pretty heavily choked, with typical cylinder bore being 0.715" instead of 0.729". paper thin barrels, et c. if the water table is marked it'll have any regulation stamps, the chamber depth (maybe 2-1/2" can hint to the choke) or if you know the history it might be best with paper hulls and fiber spacers.

such is the life of old world shotguns.

Both are factory full with 2 1/2 inch chambers. manufactured 1956, but a design of the 1850s. I shoot it with full brass shot shells loaded with black powder. in my experience all the Husqvarna lefaucheaux (models 14-32) patent action guns have both barrels choked full. the later model 50 series are generally FullxModified. whats interesting is mine has the xfull chokes, so i don't know if it was a special order or a factory error. shoots like a laser beam though. deadly on squirrel and rabbit.
In regards to barrel thickness I find that the french and especially English guns are struck lighter due to the nature of their shooting (almost exclusively bird) while other European makes like German guns stray towards the heavier side. My merkels are built like tanks.

it might be 70 years old but i'm fairly sure im the first to actually shoot it. it was mint when i bought it last year. for only $190. these husqy hammer guns are extremely undervalued in the US IMO.

I guess that makes sense as to how Afghanistan got S&W SD's/Sigmas. Replacing old stock.

I do know that S&W got sued over the Sigma design, which I find eternally funny because Glock got really butt hurt at the first of MANY glock clones. One more reason to buy one.

Also got the 25 round 40 cal stick mag last night. All steel, pretty chonky.
 
I installed the HK LEM 4.1 upgrade parts into my P2000 as I watched the Lions beat Seattle last night, and wow, I really should have done this some time ago, its like a Glock trigger, but actually good, the reduced pre-travel is very noticeable. Now that I've had the pistol apart, I guess I'll get the Gray Guns short reset parts now, too.

I can't do much about my P30S unless I want to start doing non-HK approved things, but I guess its time to get the LEM parts for my HK45, too.
 
I can't decide if i want my 3x magnifier on my AR. I keep taking it off and putting it back on. I like seeing things better, and it looks cooler, but the gun is way lighter and less obtrusive with it.
