you know what pisses me off? When I'm searching for PROJECTILES and get results for CARTRIDGES. I want 9.3mm Projectiles, I don't need 9.3x62 or 9.3x74r cartridges.

I swear the internet didn't used to be this opaque. most of the time you have to shift through mountains of shit to find what you need. it's not hard to do but i shouldn't have too.

I got hits for projectiles immediately by using "9.3mm bullets" and ".366 bullets":

If I am having difficulty finding what I want, or anticipate it not coming up via search engine, I just go to Graf's and search the appropriate category by cartridge, or caliber. Usually quicker and gives you a good sample of what is manufactured whether they have it in stock or not.
I swear the internet didn't used to be this opaque.
It didn't. Search engines are now a ploy to keep you looking at ads for as long as possible. Searching went from finding what you are looking for as fast as possible to making it as slow as possible, if not impossible.

I'm sure it is at least functional, but I don't know how reliable it would be in the long run, given the reputation of Turkish guns. It's not significantly cheaper than a 10/22 so I don't think it's worth it. Plus you get a much better platform with the 10/22, lots more parts available for it, you can build whatever you want on top of it.

For example, Woox chassis:

That is nice man. Personally I want the classic hardwood stock, iron sight Ruger. I see them go on sale all the time. That or this one:

Saw it go on sale for $319 once, and I'm kicking myself for not getting it then lol. I just want it classic, no mods. I think the contrast when loading in a 25 round mag into this hunting style rifle is just peak asthetics.
It's a P30 without the customizable grip.

Glocks are more outdated than the USP, of which the P2000 is a direct descendant.
Glock is basically the same gun for 5 generations. Yes its outdated.

What is the advantage to a 10/22 in today’s market when the SW 15/22 exists? Seems to me like the 15/22 already comes ready to mount any accessory you could want.
For over a decade, the S&W 15/22 has a tendency to have sear override, fire while on safe, fire out of battery and because of that it seems there are ranges which specifically disallow them.

Maybe, maybe not, might just be on my wishlist for a while. But it is cheap and basically a mini AR layout. I like that lol.
You remind me of when I was in my early 20s and had a bit of money for the first time and went "this is cool, this is cool, gotta have that" and I ended up with a bunch of cheap(ish) guns I never used and didn't want after the novelty wore off.

That is literally where I'm at lol. I have a lot of wants because I want to build up my collection, but buying the nice shit is completely off the table. In general this is my list in no particular order:
  1. A .22LR of some sort, any type, just want one. Collection isn't complete without a 22.
  2. A shotgun, 12 gauge, any, not picky, leaning towards a Maverick 88 just due to pure reliability and 7+1 rounds of bang
  3. A 40 S&W pistol, probably the SD40 2.0 at this point since I have everything for it, want it to withstand ammo shortages since 40 never runs out.
  4. A 9mm. Any type. Have a few in mind, like a Ruger PC carbine, a Beretta 92, and on the cheapo end, literally anything that shoots and doesn't blow up.
  5. 45 ACP. Want two. A HI point carbine for that dollar store Tommy gun feel, and a cheap 1911 so I can use some 1911 magazines and 45 ammo I bought years ago. Both of these are more for fun, but also home defense.
  6. A AR-15 or AK clone. I already have a semi auto rifle, my SKS for house defense, so this is LOW on the list. I want a decent one with particular specs. Both need to be retro, must have a bayonet lug, full length barrels for either, going for a 80s feel.
  7. A Model 10 S&W revolver. 6 rounds, 38 special, already have tons of the stuff, and it's classic. Probably will hop around pawn shops and my LGS for that. This is for fun.
And that's really it. The poorfag wishlist. You're dead on on your observation lol, I'm in my 20s and want it all, but can't have it. This list literally will take years at the current rate.

Buying cheap shit will keep you from buying the nice shit. It's not a collection, it's hoarding. We've all been there and when you realize you have an empire of dirt it sucks.
Here's a tip: Put money aside and consider each deposit of these savings "spent" money -- this is what we call a slush fund -- and eventually you can buy something weird that's actually nice.

I'd prioritize a modern fighting rifle first. The SKS is fine for wilderness defense and all, but may as well take advantage of the last 80 years of firearms development and get something modern if you intend to use it to defend yourself and your home.

I mean I could. At the same time I feel comfortable with the SKS. I'm good with it. Swing on the bayonet and the dude busting into my house will be shitting bricks.

You also remind me of when I first started getting into guns when I was 20. I think you need to spend a lot more time actually training with the guns you do have and learning what guns you actually want to save up for that are worth saving up for. The piddly 200 dollars you'll spend on a 10/22 would be better spent on ammunition for the guns you already have, or even a range membership.

Are the top break 45 Colt revolvers any good? Like the Uberti ones? They are kinda pricey for basically a toy
If the price isn't worth it to you, it's probably because those "historical" guns appeal to people because they're historical, not necessarily because they're superior firearms in any way.

yes they are good and are made of better steel than originals. they can be used with a speed loader too.

And +1 for not buying cheap shit. I've been selling off my milsurp trash for a while and moving towards quality. Probably going to sell my Ruger RedHawk in .45 colt b/c i cant get the trigger pull where i want it. need to sell the tokarev too. plan rn is to get a colt's python in 3 inch for carry.

I bought the 3 inch "Combat" variant with the G10 grips and non-fluted cylinder and I carry it concealed daily. Favorite purchase I've made in recent memory, that thing is beautiful and so fun to shoot.

I got tons of cheap crap that's just for fun. I do want a nice top loader just because I watched 310 to Yuma 50 times.

I got my "role filler" guns all set, my AR in both 556 and 308. Got my carry and war pistols (shield and m&p long slide both in 9mm). Even have stuff like Glock 40 and 41 for special rolls.

Just looking to buy cool stuff at this point

if you do get a top break I'd suggest .44 special. not that the .45 is bad but the new model 3 is really built for .44 so it just feels right
