TBH I think that looks pretty awesome.
I just don't want to pay the asking price for the stock set.
I put together an AR once with that CQR stock. I didn't mind it with the long LoP spacer (sold separately, of course) in place, but the one thing I couldn't stand was the stupid little rubber plug that's used to retain the fire selector detent spring.

Yet another SKS chassis, by Pearce Armory:

What’s some decent cold weather gear like gloves? I have a few 2gun matches coming up in January February and March and those months temps are usually in arctic conditions

Less pertaining to guns, but I have been wondering the same thing except stuff like clothes, food and backpacks.

An interesting rifle with an even more interesting doohickey on it. The rifle is a prototype transitional model between the AK-12 Obr. 2020 and the Obr.2023/AK-12M1. Must have been before the implemented the updated handguard.

The doohickey is the "GPR-20" which from what I understand from Google/Yandex translated Russian is an experimental grenade launcher that continues the evolution of the Russian caseless grenade design. From what I understand the GPR-20 is a two stage completely caseless rocket propelled munition. I assume that the munition has an "expelling charge" like on an RPG that propels it a safe distance from the firer before then igniting it's main propelling charge. That is, every canister attached to the launcher acts as it's own barrel. I have no idea whether that's a good design but the Russians tout that they could theoretically dramatically increase the size of the munition without much of an engineering challenge. They also claim recoil in comparison to some 12 gauge loads.

Back in the day, before the SCAR Program, KAC, LMT and Robinson Armament competed in the SPR-V (Special Purpose Rifle-Variant) program that wanted to make a multi-caliber SOPMOD compatible rifle. Robinson submitted a variant of their M96 (The RAV-02, pronounced "Rave"), which was kind of sort of like a Stoner 63, but not really.

Lastly, something interesting I noticed.
On August 31st small time guntuber Czech My Guns uploaded to fairly little notice a video featuring not only the obscure ZB-47 submachinegun, but none other than Ian McCollum, in the midst of recording a video.
Ian uploaded his video on the ZB-47 on the 23rd of December. So Ian recorded a video in either late August or early September and only got around to releasing it in late December. Gives you some potential insight into how deep he keeps his video stash.

If you don't go to 2 gun in mil surp you're a FUCKING FAGGOT.

No jokes aside, just get some cheap flektarn, no matter where you live girls get very wet for it.

For gloves, I'm sold on Mechanix. I trash gloves some how. I'm no Delta dude and I take care of my gear I trash em so just get something kinda last. tbh, buy thermal under clothes also.

Funny that the Robinson Arms RAV-02 got posted. Gather 'round kiddies, Grampa Dude has a story to tell. Years ago I owned a Robinson Arms XCR and became pretty tight with the RobArms crew when there was an XCR forum. Like, to the point where I used to hang out with them at the Robinson office/shop and would go out shooting with them when they would organize local shoots for the forum members. Alex would even ask my input on things he was working on, like the proprietary adjustable stock for the XCR (this was back when the only stock options were the Para FAL style and the buffer tube socket). On a couple of occasions I got to fondle one of the RAV-02 prototypes, and even got to shoot one that was brought to a shoot they had organized. It was a pretty slick rifle and I really liked it. I always wished that Alex and the folks at RobArms had refined it and released it on the civilian market alongside the XCR for folks like me who would live to own an American designed rifle in 7.62x39mm that took AK mags, but wasn't yet another Kalashnikov clone.

Magpul Patrol or if you can find them the SKD Tactical PIG, cold weather gloves. i've used the SKD ones since the 80's and they hold up to cold/wet amphibious stuff as well as arctic stuff. Magpul Patrol is probably the best for the money spent if you only want one pair of gloves and don't plan on swimming.

"FILBE 3 day assault pack" is an ideal all-around backpack for most weather conditions. a smaller one might be the Condor assault pack, which is a half-size one and great for foot patrols or an all-day bivouc and hike type thing. less weight, less swing on the trail, expandable and has a dry sack built in. clothes are really dependent on what you're doing. i have preferences, but it's hard to predict that for others.

food is almost anything but lemme share some bushcraft thats been making rounds on instagram but i've usually done with the bottom half of a chinese take-out box:

1. get big pencil sharpener, the type for crayon-sized pencils in woodworking or other marking tasks
2. get some paraffin candles
3. get some empty and clean tuna cans, preferably steel, but aluminum is ok, avoid tin or zamak. you dont need the lid.
3a. alternately, i prefer to take a standard chinese food take-out container, unfold it (remove wire if it has one), clean the waxed paper, allow to dry, re-fold and use a razor to cut it horizontally in half so i have a bottom. i will usually staple the sides to prevent it from unfolding. do the same to the top and you have two "cans" for the price of one, or use the top as a lid for the bottom with a rubber band to keep it together.
4. using a drill, get some sticks that fit the sharpener and create shavings into the container while melting the candles over a low heat to a liquid.
5. fill up a container halfway with shavings, then pour some melted candle over it, fill to 3/4 full, pour some more, then fill completely, and pour more on top. pack it down so it's flush with the top. allow to sit and cool down (about an hour).
6. repeat as needed.
7. you now have portable, relatively weatherized, fire starting container (maybe with lid) that are a standard size for most packs and are disposable and arguably re-usable and if you use the take-out box method it will completely burn into a firepit at your camp, reducing the need to pack up trash.

I've bought Mechanix gloves for years. Wish they still did a fingerless glove, still have an old blown out pair that I keep around for some reason.

Anyway, these are $25 and tend to last me a few cold seasons. I use gloves to save my hands, so I don't care if they get torn up, that is what they're for.

Belgian.
Jigsaw.

For everything.
But all jokes aside, OD (and especially really worn out and faded OD) works wonders for my neck of the woods. Has a specific looks that makes Mrs. Balls hot under the collar when I wear it, and you'd never see me hiding in the unbearable-you-would-never-willingly-go-out-in-it-unless-you-were-specifically-looking-for-me style brambles and overgrowth that make up my home state.
It stains really well, takes on all sorts of natural camo from shadows and leaves. I find solid colors are fucking great. Can be effective in the field, but also can be worn around with normal outfits in public without screaming "I'M A TACTICAL DUDE LOOK AT ME I DEFINITELY SHOULD BE THE FIRST TARGET."
I'm a gay faggot, and I do wool everything, natural fibers. I know that we have fancy new fibers and shit. But I haven't really given up on merino wool undergarments and nice leather.
There's a pair of leather shootist gloves that are like hand fit I've been seeing everywhere. You send in your dimensions, they make the gloves. Then like a fine pair of raw denim jeans or bespoke boots, you're supposed to get em soaked and wear em till they dry around your hand for perfect fit. I've heard they're expensive, but with that thin of leather, I can't really see em being worth more than a pair of mechanix.

I've seen him post Instagram photos from some videoshoot in February and some of those videos were published a year after that. So yeah...
