Anybody have any opinions on the Tisas 1911 Raider?
Context is when I was in my very early 20's I cobbled and bubba'd together a frankenstein-1911 from a bunch of spare parts using the used lower receiver /frame of a Para-Ordnance 14-45 I bought at an auction. It's been the only pistol I've owned for years and even saved my life from a pissed-off moose on one occasion- but it's really starting to show it's age/wear and tear after being concealed carried daily for a very long time- with rust and the bluing peeling off among scratches, jiggly front sights and other issues.
I still want to keep it out of sentimentality but I want something modern and affordable that still packs the whallop of .45 ACP- aka the Lord's Calibre. I heard apparently the USMC used the 1911 up until 2022 and their more modern versions of it were called the "MEU(SOC)"? The colt ones are waaay too expensive for my shoestring budget right now (cheapest ones on GunBroker are $2500 minimum) but apparently the Turks of all people have cooked up a reproduction of it called the "Tisas 1911 Raider" and it's as cheap as $600?
