I have mixed feelings on what's going on right now with the suppressor bill. While obviously it's best to get them off the nfa, I am pessimistic about that actually passing. The goal to make them have no fee is a small step, but it's hard to swallow. It could end up hurting the effort to kill the NFA in the future because "well you don't need to pay $200 anymore." (Manufacturers still have a $200 fee under the new change. Just not transfers) But also "why are we making the government spend all this money processing these and they aren't even paying $200 anymore?"

The short act also was just completely killed entirely

I can see the arguments and reasons why for both and I want the NFA gone too, but I wonder if this moment is simply tossing a small victory out for more years of no movement and alienating people in Congress who are trying to do something. The idea these rinos will be primaried and lose to a super pro 2A person is very optimistic.

Yeah I'm totally sympathetic with the "this is just political platitudes" opinion but overall it feels like there's been a lot of pro 2A momentum. How long ago was it that your tax stamp approval could take like 3-6 months? From what I understand its more like 8 weeks now. Lots of states are embracing constitutional carry too. Bureaucracy is, by design, difficult to move but I'm hopeful for the future.

One day soon I will be able to buy a fully functional replica MG3 from Amazon and have it delivered straight to my door.

Had a fun day out with my handgonne. I get 9 inch groups with it at 10 yards but that's firing from the hip. If I could properly aim with both hands and have a friend light it off then I'd probably get it to reach further out.

On the topic of matchlocks, I'm also looking forwards to the release of the Italian Brixia/Investarms muskets that were announced a while back.

Up until their announcement, the only matchlocks available that weren't original antiques were kit builds or Pajeet-made shitsticks.

They did, but I have a feeling it was mostly performative. The writer of the books, Brad Buckmaster, posts anti immigration and anti left rhetoric on his Twitter and they still associate with and published the second book a few months ago.

Plus the studio head that was under fire for the anti tranny stuff is the brother of the other studio head. He is still listed as staff on the stellar jockeys website.

My "compromise" with the NFA shit is to just treat suppressors as firearms and when you're buying through a dealer you fill out a 4473. I still feel we're losing on that, though. Deregulating SBS/SBR feels like a walk in the park and still nobody is touching that. I can't see full auto being deregulated in my lifetime, that's for sure.

I agree that they are satisfactory in quality, Indians have made muzzleloaders, both muskets and rifles, for centuries and they've only gotten better because there's less guesswork and hammering involved.

You reminded me of how the last time I went to a military collector show there were a bunch of Tanegashima (had to look that up) guns for sale, I didn't buy one because I know fuck all about them and their value however they looked pretty old (if they were repros they were made a while ago). It was strange to me because the only other guns I usually saw for sale at that show were either trapdoor Springfields or old ball and cap revolvers.

Essentially all Indian industry looks trash from the outside, but they at least have a modicum of standards. A step above Darra Adam Khel minus the cultural pride. I would still wipe it down with rubbing alcohol after I received it though, don't get me wrong.

as far as kit builds go the plain matchlock is probably the easiest in terms of wood working. its very simple.

the only time a revolver has jammed on me was with my GP-100 when i shot about 2,000 rounds of dirty, cheap .38 special in about two weeks. the stainless cylinder was fully black with soot and it had accumulated enough under the extractor star that the cylinder would not rotate. was back running after a quick spray of cleaner and a brush.

A Colt 1860 totally caked with BP residue was my first revolver jam. Couldn't even pull the hammer back due to the cylinder being stuck. That counts as a jam, right?

The fact that SBRs and SBSs are also facing zero change just screams fudd to me. Boomers think short barrel = SUPER WEAPON. There is literally no justification for it in the modern age, especially when the NFA can be bypassed with "pistols" and "firearms" for both categories. Both should be the first items to be taken off the registry. If they love the NFA so much, at least also re-open the machine gun registry.

Still, $0.00 is better than nothing, and opens the door for harder pushes. If congressmen are going to be pussy faggots, the 2A community might as well keep pushing them like the gay community did. The trick is to never be happy and push the envelope after even the smallest victory.

That matchlock looks awesome. That plus the flintlock kits mean you get to have ~250 years of firearm innovation on one gun safe

I want one. An Indian made muzzleloader using honest black powder should be A ok. They can make decent steel and NGL a lot more Indians than you'd think use muzzleloaders because afaik they are a LOT more legal than any breechloading firearm in the country.

My initial look through, I mostly see stuff regarding the regulatory burden placed on businesses, but not the end user, along with some generic land conservation. However, there are two in particular that I find interesting, the one filed by Natural Resource Results LLC on 7/5/22,


and the most recent one filed by RBW GROUP, LLC.



From reading the other filings, these fields seem to be in general pretty vague. "Support sound suppressor policies" could mean either changing them or "supporting" the status quo. Does "Regulation of suppressor purchases" mean they are lobbying about that subject in support of change, or that they support "regulation of suppressor purchases"?

I'm hoping that they aren't actually doing this, of course. But if they really are lobbying to stop legislation like the HPA they should be boycotted IMO.
