Prototype enhanced Plan B Adapter and muzzle device with secondary locking mechanism by Kodiak suppressors. No ratcheting mechanism, kinda sorta works like a B&T/Surefire mount where it locks up behind a lip near the rear of the muzzle device
I'm no engineer man but I think a possible improvement that could be made is to have the lip have an a angled surface that forces the locking piece outwards when threading the suppressor on and allows it to automatically depress after by passing it instead of having to depress the button even just for a second near the end of thread travel.

@Club Sandwich
Do you have any Idea why B&T went with an AAC style ratchet mount on the MARS for their submission for the Marine Corps suppressor contract as opposed to their Rotary or A2 mount.
Also, speaking of suppressors, I've known for a little while that both Surefire RC-2's and KAC QDC's have a little ring between the mount on the blast baffle. I recently saw a post by a guy on Arfcom referring to this ring (in the context of the RC-2) as a "flash hider support ring". I have a couple questions
1. Was that Arfcom boomer talking out of his ass
2. If he was correct in what way does the flash hier interface with the ring, do the tines butt up against it or does the ring rest on top of it
3. I've seen many a blast baffle photo and this is not a universal feature, is this a patented feature licensed to surefire/KAC from one another
