Mega Rad Gun Thread

I mean they are aggravating to deal with, but the silver lining is that boomers are dying off and younger generations generally seem more pro-gun.
I asked my grandfather (god bless him) if he'd ever hunt with a semi-auto or an AR, he went off on a tangent about how he's a badass and only needs a bolt-action rifle and his muscles to survive at the age of 70+.

Baby boomers really are the OG Capeshit fans with how much they idealize spaghetti westerns and the bullshit honor duels that only exist in Clint Eastwood movies. This was a Vietnam Vet that saw combat too and you could tell he grew up in a high trust white society.

GoA has reason to believe the bill posted on the Congress website is not current and is proceeding to hound the fuck out of the GOP.

Trumps recent victory on different judges ruling on a thing then applying nation wide also knee caps us because it's how we got alot of the current wins (bump stocks and pistol braces.) If I understand this ruling correctly gun owners will have to do class action lawsuits against bullshit and then finish it in the Supreme Court......
Or limited plaintiff injunctions, which is the treatment gun cases almost always received.

That’s why the initial injunctions for pistol braces only applied to a few specific people.

Many lawsuits followed and in all of them, injunctions blocking enforcement of the BATFE ban against the named plaintiffswere issued, including the members of the gun rights orgs that were parties to the lawsuits.

It didn’t get applied nationwide until Judge Matthew Kaczmaryk (The Red version of Hawaii Judge) issued a national injunction.
That was extremely unusual, and almost never happens. (Glad that it did though.)

The Supreme Court ruling just has leftist pet cause cases get treated like gun cases, more or less.

The bigger issue with NIGGERpill philosophy is that it encourages inaction. So many faggots out of nowhere saying "NOTHING MATTERS SINCE WE DON'T HAVE COMPLETE VICTORY TODAY! WE SHOULD JUST STAY HOME AND DO NOTHING FOREVER BECAUSE NOTHING MATTERS!!!" All just before primaries/midterms, just like ever election year since 2018 by pure coincidence.
I do get being disheartened by still having to deal with all talk no bite oldfag neocons though.
It's hard to be galvanized dealing with the joke that is the American political and legal system; I personally don't think there is a political solution, but I vote strategically in spite of that and put my money where my beliefs are. Beyond that, if you expect me to get up and be excited about the latest lying neocon or progressive faggot the Republicans are running while constantly capitulating to their supposed opposition, then I am sorry to say that will not happen.

What exactly am I supposed to be filled with hope and optimism about?

In accordance with the instructions of the President of the Republic,
Commander-in-Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces and Chairman of the National Security Council Aleksandar Vučić, the export of weapons and military equipment produced in the Republic of Serbia is suspended.
In the future, for the export of weapons and military equipment produced in defense industry factories, in addition to the consent of other competent ministries and agencies, the consent of the National Security Council will be mandatory in accordance with Article 16, paragraph 4 of the Law on Export and Import of Weapons and Military Equipment.

Apparently they've been supplying ammo to both sides in the Ukraine war and it's become a scandal. Hopefully temporary

Ahh shit HPA/SHORT act got taken out of the BBB. Midnight madness

HPA and SHORT have been introduced to the BBB as neutered, simply removing the tax and keeping the registry intact.

Good news and bad news - the HPA and SHORT Act were not included in the current iteration of the Big Beautiful Bill. You can see for yourself.

I understand where you're coming from. My contention with this perspective is that ultimately, the US government gives no fucks about its citizens. So while I don't endorse inaction in almost any part of our lives, I see no point in working to help someone get into an office where, at best, they'd be totally hamstrung by bureaucratic bullshit so deep they couldn't hope do anything about it.

Back to firearms stuff: occasionally I'll lose fiber optic rods from my front sights while training. Their installation is simple, right? That said, is there any trick to it that helps to mitigate the problem of them going missing after a string of fire?

It's not necessarily about being optimistic or blindly trusting the god emperor , it's about caving in when it comes to the slightest amount of push back that some people like to do all the time that gets fucking annoying. Exhaust all your options and be in it for the long haul. separating your emotions from the outcome is a powerful skill a lot of people need to master.

-WW3 hasn't started because we bombed Iran

-The fuck up of the Epstein files release didn't end the world

-The LA riots were a nothing burger aside from the first few days

Go outside, get some vitamin D and mediate. It helped me.

Edit: Nevermind, It seems like a lot of the based shit was taken out of the BBB, the point still stands though.

I am in it for the long haul. I am just completely unconvinced that there is any meaningful victories to be had within the current political system, and I have yet to see any reason I should change my mind about that. Just take your examples as to why:

WW3 hasn't started because Iran doesn't matter whatsoever. They barely muster as a regional power.

The refusal to release the Epstein files proves definitively that America is ruled by child rapists.

The LA riots were multiple days of foreign shitskins rioting while getting virtually zero punishment from the government, demonstrating yet again what a total fucking joke the government's response to our invasion and crime epidemic has been.

I go outside all the time. Great seeing homeless squatting by nature trails near my home, and having the cops tell me to eat a dick when I report them. So I am supposed to just tolerate vagrants leaving trash everywhere in a tent because the useless oathbreakers were ordered by the mayor to endorse crime, and don't actually give a fuck about the law whatsoever. Or I can go outside and see a bunch of wetbacks, arabs, africans, indians, and other foreigners speaking their Star Wars gibberish and wonder when my white town turned into Calcutta. The "touch grass" response to dismissing people's concerns does not work when I go outside and see the exact problems I am mad about.

Grandpa is right, but wrong in his reasoning. The bolt gun is much better ergonomically and will often fire a more effective cartridge than 5.56 at a marginal if any increase in weight.

5.56 is marginal on deer, even with hunting loads. it should be restricted to 100 yards and in and shot placement that will minimize contact with bone. meat damage is also a possibility. 5.56 is pretty violent and can easily lead to blood shot meat which is inedible. you might not even get an exit wound which leads to slower exsanguination.

whereas with a .30 cal or larger projectile loaded with a partition or a mono bullet can drive through the shoulders (anchoring the deer and if your placement is correct, destroying the CNS causing instant death) and exit the other side.

this doesn't matter much for the small deer they get in the deep south because of the climate though.

Fair point, what I said might have been out of touch, I'm glad we're all on the same page.

I can't wait for this country to go full Yugosalvia and start seriously collapsing, no cuck cops or governments holding you back as they have to pay attention to the complete chaos, so you can just turn genetic deadends into fertilizer if they piss you off enough. no waiting for a trial to be put on death row for 20 years wasting tax payer money, just a bullet or two.

Hope you're doing well otherwise.

this is why we reload frens. most cartridges can be made from .30-06 (most military and hunting rounds) or .375 H&H (the belted magnums for the most part).
to go full Yugosalvia
the Spanish civil war is more comparable.

Yugoslavia was 7 nations that hated each other being held together with a iron fist.

The US is divided politically but the foundations of the culture are mostly the same for both sides.

We've got different chamberings in ARs now, I know guys who commit the blasphemy of using 7.62x39 ARs and I've also got trashbin special upper in .450 Bushmaster to use as Satan's Brush Gun if I want to be gassed to death with no chance of a followup shot.

Yes. Put a red dot on your gun and don’t worry about the fiber

I really don't understand this one. To me, if one wants this I'd recommend one of four things. 1) A CMMG Banshee Mk47. Fucking expensive. 2) A Mk116 MOD2 upper from PWS on whatever lower they want. Fucking expensive. 3) Get that same upper from PWS but in .300 BLK. Better ballistics than 7.62X39, the mags don't look fucking stupid, and the ammo is actually less expensive and easier to find. Also, fucking expensive. 4) Get an AK and be content with having to pay a lot for for cheaply made, shitty ammo.

First of all I'm a boomer faggot so only 2 of my pistols are optics ready at the moment. Then there's the whole thing about how Berettas look awful with a RDO on them.

lose fiber optic rods from my front sights
a needle application of super glue to the inside edge in the middle portion of the front sight. do not obscure or occlude the fiber optic itself, you're just adding reinforcement to where it's being held in place. a small amount of baking soda sprinkled onto the glue hardens it in place. practice on some scrap acrylic or something, the cyanoacrylate adhesive will cloud where it touches the plastic, and a little goes a long way.

my personal method is to remove the slide (or front sight if convenient) from the firearm, fix the slide or front sight into a small padded vise so it is tilted near vertically, then use paper to build a little dam around the junction where the fiber optic enters the sight housing. i then use a needle to apply one or two drops of cyanoacrylate to fix the fiber in place. the baking soda hastens and hardens the glue in very short order. you can then remove the paper with a fine knife or scalpel.

the tilting is intended that extra glue runs to the base of the underside of the front sight fiber optic housing and not interfere with the fiber itself or the dovetail/screw/collet/etc that attaches the sight to the slide.

it's worth noting that more revolver fiber optic sights use a ramp with poured in fluorescent material with a dam built from some rubber square stock cut a slab off of. CA glue doesn't stick to rubber much at all, same for oiled steel or brass shims. this fluorescent material is bonded to the prepared ramp and is dovetailed in place and couldn't move even if it wanted to outside of poor preparation. i know some sights like this exist for automatics, but they are not common.

This is exactly what I was looking for. Regarding the paper dam I'm not easily able to visualize what you mean here. Got a link to a video or a pic that would help?
on a revolver's front ramped sight that you put in an insert or pour in the fluorescent material, you "dam" up the sides to prevent spill-over. you can use brass, paper, plastic card, et c. and you file it flat or use a razer blade to remove to give you cleaned, flat sides and a good finished look.

for a fiber optic sight, you can do the same thing, but it's instead used to protect from spills on the slide or underneath the fiber optic, like masking it off in a way. i don't have a glock front sight handy to illustrate, but hope this gets the concept across.
