Got my G19 slide back from the Glock store. Yup, its a "C" now.
View attachment 7754675

About the only complaint that I have with the machining is that the ports on the slide are razor sharp, wish they had knocked the edges down enough so that you can't shave with them at least.

Installed the Glock performance trigger while I was at it. It's way better, as agreed by everyone who has touched it so far. I polished up all the contact points with simichrome polish and dropped in a Ghost 3.5# connector that I already had in the gun. It didn't really need it, but I had it, and it did make it a little better, so whatever.

Had a GLOCK 22C that my dad bought me when his department was doing a discounted purchase for LEOs. It was my first GLOCK. It was fun to rip up a used target into pieces and balance the paper pieces over the ports to make instant confetti when you fired a round off.

It's natural for someone to be charged when they're the only witness to someone being shot while supposedly not holding the gun, but this may confirm the rumors there was horseplay involved.
I imagine the situation involves the accused roughing up the deceased, who was holding the holstered M18 with safety engaged, and the gun goes off as it slammed against the table he supposedly set it down upon. That would make sense as an approach to an involuntary manslaughter charge.

I imagine the whole event was recorded on video, it was in a nuke facility, after all.

top lel, all of this gun store bitching. I have only had one slightly negative gun store experience in my life and it was in Florida. I make friends with all of the gun store guys because I have a little bit of everything.

At least with the large stores the only thing many of the guys know is how to do a transfer or fill out the background check. Small town fudd shops will push a 1911 on you every time, talk down about your choices, and then recommend an even smaller 1911 as a compromise.

Old fudd-ish LGS huwhite pill: Guy was an old redneck 1911 lover type, like Barry from the old IV8888 videos but bigger and a marine, and I was having him do a transfer for me ($10 transfers, remember those?) of some cheap AR parts I think, maybe delton, either way it was something cheap and covered in plastic purchased online and the guy gave me some when I'm ready to buy good guns he has these 1911s, pre hilary hole smiths, hi-powers. I looked around in the case and spotted some kimbers (this was years ago, peak shit on kimber times) and started giving him some guff right back saying I already had a 1911 and it was better than those, because my Colt is a blued prewar M1911A1, the genuine article and not some cost cutting kimber crap. I made a friend that day because he was actually mad about the downturn in kimber quality which had caused him some grief with customers and he wanted to see my old Colt. I did bring it by a few weeks later and wound up shooting with him a few times at an old boys club members only range as his guest before I left the area.

How many times have I visited a "local small gun shop" only to be treated rudely by the employees. Treated with suspicion, hostility, or acting like you walking into the store is a major annoyance for them because they were busy hanging out in a circle around the counter having a meandering conversation with their Fudd pals and act like customers wanting to potentially exchange money for goods or service is a great inconvenience.
Hohoho, you think that's bad? There was this once time when I was doing all my online transfers through one of my local gun shops. Made them plenty of money on transfer fees (in the mid thousands) and you know what I got for it? The fucking owner goes up to me one day while I'm doing a transfer and he verbatim asks me "Well, how did you get all this money BUDDY? You engaged in criminal activity or something?" IMAGINE treating a customer that exclusively shops at your store with that level of disrespect. Suffice to say I switched to the best in my area and have been happy ever since.

Guess that was the big revelation. Honestly it makes more sense than the holstered gun on the table just going off and hitting him in the chest.

Unless the airman KNEW something about the faulty sear. Yeah thats it, MOSSAD deployed their assassin M18 to take out a loose end.

At the range today and some dude had an MP5 clone that shot full auto. He'd just gotten it from the store and I saw him send his first mag through it. I ripped a mag to verify it was auto, and it was definitely auto. He was a bit conflicted and about the whole thing.
Idk what you're supposed to do abt that besides squirrel it away and don't get pulled over on your way home on smth like that

Really you ought to return it to the manufacturer. I know its only an MP5, but he's either accidentally got a full auto lower (unlikely) or he has a defective triggerpack (likely) which means its full auto by the disconnector not working, meaning its running off of hammer follow, which can cause an out of battery detonation. Not the end of the world with 9mm, but you'll probably break something there.

Do you know what specific clone it was?
I imagine that was quite the suprise

It's a century and is made in Turkey if the letters on the side can be trusted. Some guy next toe said they're brought into the country as auto and then converted, idk how true that is but maybe somebody forgot to do all the steps. It does have 4 marked selector positions I think, but they aren't accessible.

Idk if if was hammer follow since the guy was pulling off doubles and triples and wasn't getting a dead trigger. I've had hammer follow in an AR before and it resulted in a dead trigger after like 3 shots. Same deal with bump firing, not every trigger has been up the the task and is dead pretty often.
This sure felt like the M16 lower in 300blk a dude let me shoot once

The ATF would have set Century on fire if that were the case, so no it's likely defective. If I were that guy I'd get it squared away not just because of potential out of battery mishaps but also because even with the current administration I wouldn't expect leniency from the ATF if he knowingly kept it that way.

Dont get me wrong, Im friends with the guys at the place that ripped me off, but Im never going there for any sort of gunsmithing ever again. Ill go in and shoot the shit with them sure but they totally fucked me over such a basic job.

Hello Gentlemen, I have returned once again to ask you all for advice. Quite a few of you mentioned that I should go for a shotgun instead of a handgun, and since I already have my deceased father’s handgun promised to me (thank you Granddad) I opted to purchase a shotgun instead. I found 2 suitable candidates for such a purchase, both found on Guns dot com:

Mossberg 88 Security
Pros:
>8 round capacity on the specific model I found
>Rated very well by channels like Hickok45 and TheFirearmGuy
>Bayonet Lug
>Newly manufactured
>Fee free purchase
Cons:
>More expensive than other option at $246
>Action may jam, though such incidents are freak accidents
>Choke sold separately
>No rear sight

Remington 500 AT
Pros:
>Built in Choke
>Wood furniture is more aesthetically pleasing than Mossberg 88
>Fiber Optic front bead sight (and rear sight, though unknown if also fiber optic
>>Cheaper than Mossberg at $230
Certified used by Guns dot com
Neutral:
>Effectively modified Mossberg 500 manufactured by Remington
>Unknown if rated by trusted guntubers
Cons:
>Lower capacity (5 rounds vs 8 )
>Used model (Very Good condition)

I’m kind of leaning towards the Mossberg because it’s pretty much as close I can get to a real life M90 CAWS from Halo CE, however the 500AT looks a lot better. I could also just forego either and get the wildcard option, a Winchester 120 presumably manufactured and used around WWII or even during the conflict. Regardless I’ll be happy with whatever I end up with. You guys have a great day and God bless the South

I prefer the tang safety of the Mossbergs. The Maverick series doesn't have as much aftermarket support as the 500 series, but I have heard you can make the accessories work with enough determination.

Whoever told you to get a shotgun instead of a handgun is retarded just get a glock 19

Quite a few of you mentioned that I should go for a shotgun instead of a handgun,

Those people are retarded. Clearing a house/slicing the pie with an 18” barrel is a nightmare.

Shotguns aren’t magical death rays you don’t have to aim. Shotty fetishism is fudd nonsense.

You are right, however, I’m going to get a handgun anyway and I like shotguns when they’re not bruising my shoulder

Well if it makes you feel any better the handgun I will have likely by the end of September is a Ruger P89, I’ve shot it before and I like it very much. I know people around here don’t like Fuddery but frankly I just don’t want a Glock. At least not right now

I've tried to find a source for this other than Instagram, but no luck yet:

seconding the controls of the mossberg, I personally prefer the placement of the safety + bolt release button over the remington actions.
I dont have a lot of personal experience with remingtons in general but everything i've read up online generally points toward mossberg having a better track record when it comes to reliability.
I would also much prefer a removable choke, assuming the remington doesn't come with one, as its generally what affects your shot pattern the most, and i prefer being able to change that with aftermarket parts. They're also a lot more versatile if you ever become interested in clay shooting. (the choke you use is usually dependent on the distance to the target and the speed/path it takes. skeet shooters will probably be using a wider choke than trap shooters, for example.)

The description on the Remington says I can adjust the choke from Full to Improved to Modified so I guess you could say one minute I could shoot as if I didn’t have a choke and the next I could shoot like it was a rifle

I’m not accusing you of such a thing but there appears to be a lot of Mossberg glazing among firearm enthusiasts but I’m sure it’s for a good reason, God knows I’ve glazed my state enough to make people think thats the only thing I care about lmao
