Why they made the thing, I have no fucking idea
It allows the gun to be a hair thinner than if it were mag fed, but more importantly, because George Kellgren had already designed a stripper clip pistol a zillion years ago. Most likely he just remembered that and thought "yeah, I'll try that again." A lot of Kel-tec designs are just rereleases of Grendel products, in a market that is more open to them than the 90s.

I'd consider buying another Keltec gun if I was certain that the drugs being consumed there were strictly in the product design and R&D departments and not in the manufacturing and QC departments.

Going for an en bloc clip instead of stripper clips would likely add more complexity to the design, trying to get it to function properly, keeping the en bloc in place while the rounds feed properly, and then getting the en bloc to eject at the correct time. It would be cool, but loading a fixed magazine from stripper clips was just more practical and easier to execute.

It doesn't need to eject from the top like a Garand. I'm pretty sure there are some bolt action rifles that dropped the en bloc clip at the bottom once all the rounds were expended. Granted I'm not sure if that would pose more issues than using plain old stripper clips so that could be a reason why Kel Tec went with stripper clips instead.

On a semi related side tangent, has anyone here ever used pistol to rifle conversion kits (e.g. MechTech, Meta Tactical, Ronin, etc.)? Are they worth the money or are they more a gimmick than anything?

Some people really seem to like them, especially things like the Flux Raider or whatever it is. I personally think they're kinda gimmicky and would rather have a purpose built SMG/PCC/PDW like the B&T TP9 or compact version of the APC.

Guys can I get some advice on overcoming the fear of AIWB carry with no manual safety.
Practice drawing and holstering your gun a lot, do it with baggy shirts that could get into your holster so you can start to identify when that starts to happen. Carry it around in condition 3 and check your trigger at the end of the day to build confidence in your holster working.

Build confidence in your skills and never get complacent.

Is it true as long as I get a good holster and anything except a P320 i’m fine?

From what I now understand pretty much all striker fired pistols have the same design flaw that was demonstrated in that one video with the guy soyjacking at the Sig. If you depress the trigger even a fractional amount past the wall you can manipulate the slide and cause the striker to trip.

All other things being equal, your shirt or other bullshit getting in your holster and poor trigger discipline when holstering are much more likely to cause a ND + free orchiectomy than your weapon having a true mechanical failure.

You have to have the trigger at the wall with most pistols for this to happen. If your trigger is at the wall when it’s in the holster, you have other issues.

Guys can I get some advice on overcoming the fear of AIWB carry with no manual safety. I’m looking at a Walther PDP or M&P Shield and it seems barely any striker fired pistols have manual safeties. I don’t even want a manual safety. Is it true as long as I get a good holster and anything except a P320 i’m fine?
Practice intentionally holstering while looking the gun into the holster. Your draw time should be fast, theres no reason your reholstering process should be. I watch my trigger the whole way into the holster. When I started carrying I would also hold the holster with my off hand and point it away from my body while reholstering. Once you have your holster make sure its snug to the gun and use threadlocker on the retention screws, occasionally check if it loosens up. Imo its also important to minimize the gap between the gun and your body so it can't get caught on something, good AWIB holsters let you adjust ride height and use a "wing" to accomplish this.

Or just get a DA/SA pistol instead of a striker fired pistol for carrying like that. I know it seems like every pistol is striker fired these days, but there are alternatives. I personally don't care for striker fired pistols, but that's personal preference. I like either a single action like a 1911 or BHP, or something DA/SA with a de-cocker or manual safety like a CZ-75 or Beretta 92.

Yes, it has to be past the wall but not enough to actually drop the sear, but I am not sure about it being most pistols.

Hammer fired weapons shouldn't have this problem assuming the hammer is attached to the frame (I have no idea why it wouldn't be but I will hedge my bets).

Got a two for one deal on the mountain today:

The Oak was near shaking with the amount of S. Carolinensis crowding it's branches. The discarded pieces of acorn sounded like falling rain on the forest floor, which is what I listen for on a hunt. This early in season the dense canopy only provides fleeting glimpses of the squirrels as they jump from branch to branch so you have to be ready to take a quick shot.

And i did. A large male stopped on a branch with a nut in his hands, so I drew back the right hammer on my old Husqvarna hammer gun and aimed for his head.

BANG!

He fell from his perch like a piece of falling Iron with a thud. the rest of the squirrels went into hiding at the disruption so I traipsed over to where i guessed he came to rest. Only to find two lying there dead. Both male of species. The larger one was my target. the smaller a bonus. I can only theorize that The unfortunate bystander was behind my target and caught some collateral shot. Only one pellet of #6 shot was lodged in his chest cavity. Truly a unlucky feller indeed.

Ammunition used: Baschieri & Pellagri Upland Game Classic, 2 1/2 inch shells with 1oz of #6 shot at 1,160 FPS. 12 gauge of course.

Go hunting frens. its fun.

Nice Husqvarna!

Do you know a good place to find old double guns? I've got a Winchester Model 12 in 16 gauge awaiting pickup and I can't wait for dove season to open in a couple weeks. I prefer all my hunting guns to be old.

What's your preferred cooking method for these rodents? Also that's a nice gun, shame SxS are so expensive these days.

Get with the times gramps! Nah, I personally like hammer fired guns more as well. With enough striker gun mishaps the world will learn that hammer fired is best.
not the usual kind of black home intruder this time:

behold, Ursus Americanus:

This is pretty wild. Maybe the bear smelled some honey.

All my huskys have come from Simpson LTD, but you can find deals on old hunting guns a lot of places. they don't have as high a price placed on them as milsurp generally

I fry them like chicken. all the steps are the same as you would with Chicken. Its easy and simple and tasty.

There are a lot of very affordable SxS guns out there. the husqvarna in the photo only cost me $190 as far as i recall and i only got it the year before last.

the older Merkel, JP Sauer, Simson, Husqvarna, AyA can all be had for less than 1k and often less than 500. My Merkel Model 8 cost me around $600 only because it was new in box.

For american SxS's you can pretty easily find deals on Winchester model 24s, Stevens, L.C smith, Lefever and Baker is you put just a little effort in.

Remember, The SxS shotgun was made in the many dozens of millions for the last 200 years. its probably the most common firearm out there.

I don't know what goober movie this is, but it shows that Brivvish people can't even be trusted with props: the woman manages to visibly jam her pistol twice in this scene (timelinked):
