Custom Super Safe RPD, handguard is of the owner's own design
"So, long and short of it, it's an Egyptian RPD on a DSA receiver and barrel with a custom AR FCG and modified op rod to allow the hammer to strike the firing pin. I designed the handguard myself and had it machined out of two aluminum billets. The safety works like a dream. Most unique thing I own, and there's nothing else quite like it anywhere on earth"
"I had an AR fire control group housing machined custom by Interfor USA. You'd need a housing like that, or to make one yourself that slides onto the lower rails on the DSA receiver. You also need a recoil rod behind the bolt carrier that recoils into the stock and has a slot cut down the length of it for the hammer to swing through."
This is, allegedly, a re-welded made in Russia civilian model imperfect copycat AS VAL, in America
Now Keen eyed observers might say "But AGPinochet, that's clearly an airsoft gun, it lacks the fire selector (which on the VSS/Val series is separate from the dust cover) and the little hole at the forward portion of the rear sight block"
Ah but you see I did my homework
In October of 2019 Russian website Topwar put out an article featuring an video by prominent Russian arms journalist, Konstantin Lazarev
At 2:04 A representative of Molot Arms (which if you remember makes that Blank Fire Pseudo-VSS's that Brandon Herrera passes off as a Real VSS, Slagga MFG used to show off and BSDFabworx built as a proof of concept for his paper folding endeavors) shows off their Civilian model VSS and Val lookalikes in 9x39 and 7.62x39. Perfect match, no fire selector and rear sight block hole.
Either this gun really is in America or we at least have new photos of an obscure and rare gun
Black and White MFMD, Instagram post this image is from says that it is a "semi permanent barrel attachment" (I always assumed it was a direct thread system due to muzzle devices never being shown off)

Some questions regarding the Ares Shrike/Fightlite MCR.
I was reminded recently that the MCR's proprietary bolt has an equally proprietary lug geometry presumably to expand lifespan and increase reliability. I went through the Fightlite patent section of their website and t
wo things popped out at me
I. They claim no patents regarding bolt lug enhancement
2. All patents listed have to do with upper receiver features and all of them are expired
Questions.
-Did Ares/Fightlite license the KAC Patent
-When/what generation were the rounded lugs implemented
