Anyone have an HK45C and any thoughts on it? I had a full size USP .45 which I stupidly sold and I've been wanting to get another fuddy-five HK.
I have an HK45, its pretty okay. The C does everything the HK45 does, and I kinda wish I got one of those instead, but I wasn't going to pass up a screaming deal on a factory OD HK45. Got for like $750 lightly used.

Custom Super Safe RPD, handguard is of the owner's own design

"So, long and short of it, it's an Egyptian RPD on a DSA receiver and barrel with a custom AR FCG and modified op rod to allow the hammer to strike the firing pin. I designed the handguard myself and had it machined out of two aluminum billets. The safety works like a dream. Most unique thing I own, and there's nothing else quite like it anywhere on earth"

"I had an AR fire control group housing machined custom by Interfor USA. You'd need a housing like that, or to make one yourself that slides onto the lower rails on the DSA receiver. You also need a recoil rod behind the bolt carrier that recoils into the stock and has a slot cut down the length of it for the hammer to swing through."

This is, allegedly, a re-welded made in Russia civilian model imperfect copycat AS VAL, in America

Now Keen eyed observers might say "But AGPinochet, that's clearly an airsoft gun, it lacks the fire selector (which on the VSS/Val series is separate from the dust cover) and the little hole at the forward portion of the rear sight block"

Ah but you see I did my homework
In October of 2019 Russian website Topwar put out an article featuring an video by prominent Russian arms journalist, Konstantin Lazarev

At 2:04 A representative of Molot Arms (which if you remember makes that Blank Fire Pseudo-VSS's that Brandon Herrera passes off as a Real VSS, Slagga MFG used to show off and BSDFabworx built as a proof of concept for his paper folding endeavors) shows off their Civilian model VSS and Val lookalikes in 9x39 and 7.62x39. Perfect match, no fire selector and rear sight block hole.

Either this gun really is in America or we at least have new photos of an obscure and rare gun

Black and White MFMD, Instagram post this image is from says that it is a "semi permanent barrel attachment" (I always assumed it was a direct thread system due to muzzle devices never being shown off)

Issue #8 of the GunCAD Digest

Some questions regarding the Ares Shrike/Fightlite MCR.
I was reminded recently that the MCR's proprietary bolt has an equally proprietary lug geometry presumably to expand lifespan and increase reliability. I went through the Fightlite patent section of their website and two things popped out at me
I. They claim no patents regarding bolt lug enhancement
2. All patents listed have to do with upper receiver features and all of them are expired

Questions.
-Did Ares/Fightlite license the KAC Patent
-When/what generation were the rounded lugs implemented

They're great guns. I damn near got one, but went with the Mark 23 instead because it's what my heart desired. USNAVSPECWAR adopted them to replace the SIG P226 and HK Mk23 Mod0 as the standard sidearm for the SEALs and DevGru. It'll do everything the USP 45 Tactical and almost everything the Mark 23 will do, just in a more compact package.

Looks like a 1911 and an S&W Model 41 had a baby.

Behold: Another G3 FRT project. I really think FRTs have some potential here. Their proliferation has really begun to spread. There's variants for SCARs and AKs too. If someone can make a good (AKA not AR9) PCC frt setup..........
Would the G3 FRT not be capable of being ported over to the other HK roller locked guns?

another cool possiblity is the MG3 and 42. Back when kits were plentiful someone (RTG i think) was making a trigger pack that used the AR FCG to replace the full auto pack. Im wondering if a FRT would drop in.

I was going to do a build on one but could never get the AR trigger pack so i gave up.

Yes and no. The HK roller delay (not roller locked) series of firearms all use the same triggerpack, but the MP5 trigger pack is its own thing and is smaller, and the upcoming PTR 63 (modernized HK41) uses an AR 15 triggerpack
Im wondering if a FRT would drop in.
I doubt it.
The AR15 FRT works the same way as the AR15 auto sear, where the rear of the bolt carrier (rear of the gap where the hammer falls) is the trip/assist. The MG42 bolt obviously does not have this feature, so it would not drop in. That said, the grip assembly is only sheet metal, and the bolt has catches for the normal MG42 sear, so it might be possible to make it work with some modifications and finagling.

Not RTG but BRP, I have personally looked into it. Binary is pretty easy to achieve if you have a 3D printer, theres a design floating around for a modified safety block that will make it almost plug and play. For the FRT its a whole project, from my understanding you need to mill out the grip a bit for the cassette to fit and remove the safety entirely. Lewman arms does not recommend either option and it will void any warranty if you put a FRT/binary in any of his MG42s. Something about how the semi MG42 bolt is designed and I can understand his reasonings. I should post my 1st gen BRP bolt at some point, it is beat to fuck from over gassing (11mm booster, I drilled one to 13mm and it pretty much fixed this). Semi auto MG42s are fucking finicky and not alot of owners hold on to them or shoot them.

Well, I think I'm going to order my next suppressor on Friday. Going to get a rimfire can. A few have caught my eye and currently my list is the Griffin Checkmate HD, the Energetic Armaments Nyx Mod 2, the Surefire Ryder 22-S, the SilencerCo Switchback, and the Q El Camino. I want one that is user serviceable since .22lr can be really dirty shooting. The PWS BDE also has my interest. I like that it's a mono-core design, so there's no way the end user could put the baffles back in the wrong way, but I've heard mono-core cans have the potential for bad first round pop. One of the things I like about the Nyx is that it's all titanium, so I wouldn't have to worry about what kind of solvents I use to clean it.

Until Ron Cohen is yeeted from the CEO position at SIG, all Sig pistols are now SUS. Not even the P226 is safe from their QC fuckery.

Sig 226 Legion doing Sig things @sigsauerusa This is the SAO model (safety always off). The trigg.mp4
Does the 226 not have a firing pin block or other safeties then just the sear? That is the main problem with the 320. Look at the area the hammer strikes on a 92/m9 and you can see why it won't go off even if the hammer drops or something else strikes the firing pin area with the safety engaged.

I think it does, but of all the things that should absolutely NOT happen is dropping the hammer with a trigger pull, with the safety on, lmaooo.

Every person who bought the SAO Beretta 92's that are also out there just got vindicated in their purchases, again. They won twice. They got a better pistol overall from a company who can still make guns, and they paid less for them up front, lmaoooo.

Under $1k after taxes and transfer, almost $500 less than that Sig Legion piece of shit.

The P226 passed all the US Army's testing, including drop testing, back in the 80s. The main reason the Beretta was selected to be the M9 was because of the lower cost. It's got the internal safeties that pretty much every modern pistol has. It just doesn't have an external safety. Just a de-cock lever.

The P226 still got some contract use alongside the M9 as well. NCIS and OSI were carrying them instead of the Beretta, not sure if that's still the case since the M17/18 adoption.
