Shalom kiwi crew the IWI Carmel came in and its ugly but i can fix it. The cat didnt like it either he usually lays on stuff he likes. He kinda just looked at it then left. I Intend to chop the barrel and swap out the handguard to its experimental version. I find that it's easier on the eyes.

Weirdly my cat's favorite place in the world is on top of my gunpowder covered range bag.

Good. They shouldn't be investments. They're historical artifacts surrounding a contentious political topic and that should be the extent of their perceived additional value.
$12,000 for a Mac or Sten which should cost $200.

If it wasn’t for the NFA, everyone would have a sten for home defense and shotguns would be only for hunting.
Also, I kind of miss those old 550's that Sig USA attempted to make that took STANAG magazines.

Those guns were so bad they were literally abandoned by Sig. I remember being excited for the 55X series until people actually started getting them and seeing all the issues.

Roof merchants soon?

New York Post: Jewish New Yorkers rushing to buy guns for protection after anti-Israel Zohran Mamdani’s victory

They’re preparing for a Mamdani administration lox, stock and barrel.

Jewish New Yorkers are arming themselves before an anti-Israel “mayor who despises us” takes the helm of New York City, several told The Post this week.

Michael Bergida, who opened a gun shop in Marine Park, Brooklyn, called Samson Armory — a nod to the Biblical Israelite warrior and symbol of sheer strength — said his new business is booming.

Bergida, 30, is arming everyone from fearful zaydes to terrified rabbis.

“We’re probably the only gun store to have a minyan,” said the 30-year-old Orthodox owner about the Jewish gathering for prayer.

What's the least crap "scout" rifle on the market? I'm talking Col. Cooper's dream gun, forward mounted optics deal that I'll either fix a Burris 1x or PA 1x Prism on.
Last I had any interest was when Ruger's monstrosity came out but that bitch weighs a fuckton and the 77 at that time had a sticky bolt, not sure if it's improved at all. I've handled Mossberg's bolt actions and they aren't bad but I hear more about inconsistent groups than positives, and Savage is wavering pretty hard these days in terms of quality. Steyr recently released their picatinny upgrade which is neat and I'm leaning towards it but it's not the smoothest rifle out there either.

WHOLE LOTTA TOXOPLASMOSIS IN THIS THREAD RIGHT NOW
Cats go with guns. Accept it and boop the snoot.

They like the smell. I'm not kidding. My two try and lick the carbon on my guns after long range trips.

As for a gun tax, finally got to touch one of my bucket list guns, an Ithaca Mag-1020251119_141523.jpg.webp

a bolt action of your choice with a quarter rib w/ bases. it'd be a custom job but if you keep it plain i can't imagine it'd be much more than 2k.

Since they keep making FRTs/Super Safety’s for more and more guns. It would be cool and funny to see an FRT for these

About done with my copenov project. Made a new stock and relocated the dovetail mount so it actually works with SVD optics. I don't know why Zastava doesn't use the M91 rail location for the M77 because its the same exact mount base but has actually has proper eye relief for ZRAK and PSO scopes. All it takes is 5 minutes of milling work. All I have left to do is install the sling mount and butt pad then topcoat with amber shellac. I'm open to suggestions for the butt pad. The grind-to-fit pads are all too small unfortunately.

stocklamination.pngbarestock.pnggripnutchannel.png
Started by laminating Baltic birch plywood with Titebond III. I then glued on a template that I drew. Turned out to be too thick for my scroll saw to handle so I had to do it by hand. Roughed out the stock with a giant fret saw and rasps. Turned out to be too thick for my scroll saw to handle so I hand to do it by hand. Finished with 80 and 150 grit sponges. Did the grip nut channel and stock mount with a forstner bit. I shaped the receiver insert with a file and sandpaper. Stained the stock with pre-conditioner and a custom mix of 4-5 minwax oil stains. I think I matched the handguard color pretty well considering the handguards are maple and the stock is birch laminate.

railremoval.pngriveting.jpgscoperailcomplete.jpgscoperailmods.jpg

Time to remove the scope rail. Drilled out the rivets with my drill press. Turns out the receiver was super rusted from trapped bluing salts or something so I lazily refinished it with cold bluing paste. Dremel'd out some reliefs for the mount to fit over the trunnion bulge and clear the axis pins. The scope sits about 2 inches further forward than before so a human male can now fit his head behind the scope. Forgot to plug one of the old holes so I'll just install a rivet to hide it. At some point I will probably re-finish the whole receiver because it came with finger print marks from the factory but I don't have the time for now.

thank u 4 reading my blogpost!!11!!1

If you have nothing at all for it then you could try making a mold and pouring your own. Not sure how well that works with flexible materials though. I suppose an alternative would be CAD modeling one and getting it printed by someone. They can do rubber and what not although with the effort you've put in so far I'm sure you'd rather do something a bit more hands on.

which should be negatively impacting full auto AR, MP5, etc values. I don't know if that's actually happening
They've pretty much collapsed in the past year. I've seen some even speculate that we'll see transferable M4's sell under $10k at auction this year! They were fetching around $50k not that long ago.

[Stolen from this gun stoner's vid:]

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=57o2y7qrfe4 Grain of salt here, youtuber faggot but apparently there is evidence that it has. Apparently, machine gun experts think FRTs have very little difference vs the real thing.
Damn I'm late

New Glock 18C's sell for $550. A legally transferable one would've easily gone for $25k at auction in the US. There may only be single-digit numbers of those if any though.

Can anyone tell me how the hell a FRT is different than an actual full auto weapon? I mean you reset the trigger to your finger so it bounces off your finger vs holding down it but it doesn't feel any different in real application.

The legal definition is that it fires more than one round "by a single function of the trigger". That's what counts, so even though you maintain steady pressure on the trigger it counts as one function per round fired. It's all nonsense, but it's technically legal nonsense and that's the best kind.

Why did you buy jooish peepee poopoo rifle that weighs like 9lbs unloaded

There was a guy who was at one point working on a 3D printed imitation that used Super Safeties

Still Switch compatible AND with new factory C models? The hood is gonna love this one.

I believe these negro ballads are appropriate for celebratory music

wonder what FRTs/supersafetys would work on my gen 5 (not V) Glock 17
There's only really one game in town and That's the Pembleton Gspot and clones. There's only one way to make a Super safety work with a Glock and you have to use a printed chassis and I couldn't tell you how it worked.

One trigger pull = multiple bang = illegal
Pull trigger, bang, release trigger, bang = legal
Pull trigger, bang, internal mechanisms inside the gun force the the trigger forward again while you maintain consistent pressure, the triggee reaches it's forward most point of travel and is automatically forced back by your trigger finger = legal. This means that Super Safeties and FRT's are partially protected by the SOCTUS Bump stock decision.

Clearly the XCR was ahead of its time with the first gen trigger, they just needed to go that extra step to let it depress again instead of slamming forward with the force of a livestock bolt-gun and locking there.

...gotta ask though, how painful to shoot are these things? Because my fingers still remember the pain of the range trip I took with the first gen XCR trigger an I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
