Mega Rad Gun Thread

IIRC, at least during the battle of Bakhmuth, Ukrainians said they were literally using WW1/WW2 era field telephones with hard wire for their defensive positions. It's not susceptible for electronic warfare, you have to literally cut into the line to listen in or to disturb it. We were still using the same tech (obviously with more modern phones lol) during my conscription in Finland in 2014. If you are defending a static objective, that is absolutely the best way of making connections. Pain in the ass to distribute all that wire, but well worth it in the end.

Field telephones are awesome, I'm honestly surprised that there isn't a modernized version of something like the TA-1042A for non-RF comms. with cheap single-mode fiber transceivers or just rvtrvning to twisted wire pairs it's honestly not that bad of an idea.

Before someone says “don’t let the Feds on Kiwi Farms see your guns”. This is a SBS, which means the Feds already know I own this one.
It’s a used LE trade Mossberg 590 A1 14 incher. I got it recently and the NFA paperwork only took 2 days. It’s has some wear on the outside, but I’ve shot it at the range recently and it shot great.

A man of taste.

Bummed the fuck out. Got an old ass Marlin 336 recently and I wanted to fix up some of the deep gouges that whatever wildebeest that previously owned the gun inflicted on the stock. Took the buttstock off and started lightly buffing down the whole thing with some 0000 steel wool and then some of the wood closest to where it connects to the tang just completely broke off on both sides. Wasn't wanting to have to glue shit back together. Legit don't even know how it happened.

Does it feel particularly different than an 18"+ barreled shotgun? I've never had any trigger time with short that wasn't meant to be a breaching shotgun.
It's not a huge of weight/shooting difference in the hand TBH over an 18". Feels a little more maneuverable as a house gun.
14" still patterns plenty tight.
Sick! How I wish I could reasonably easily locate a forend similar to that for my Benelli M1.
It's too bad the surefires forends are so rare now.
The streamlight forend has been fine. It's a little ugly imo; but function over form. 100% needed griptape/stipling for push/pull shooting.

Maybe a controversial opinion, but I'm getting really sick of all the shotshow stuff that all these companies show off, only for their stuff to either disappear into the either, having a "coming in 5 years" tagline, or "coming later this year [delayed till december] [delayed till next year] [delayed till november next year]"

If its not ready to ship within at most a year from shotshow with no major delays, its just not ready to show off. I can at least give props to PSA for bringing to market the stuff they showed. If its not going to be available within that time frame, it should be couched as a "prototype; we're working on this, no ETA yet" deal.

Upped my trap gun budget and found a Citori O/U in great shape with a nice velvet lined hard case. Gonna class up the joint. Can't wait for the new year (clubs closed until then). Will need to pick up some chokes and dust off the reloader.

Have they? Their two big SS2025 announcements were the 50 cal and the 5.7 pdw. The 5.7 tp9/mp7 knockoff was originally announced two years ago and they still dont have a release date. Last I heard the sabre-11 2011 would come out this year maybe. Stuff like the 570 modular shotgun exists only to populate tradeshow headlines and fill their booths.

With the 'slump' and temporary closure of AAC they're sticking to safe low investment stuff like JAKL variations and faux clone ARs.

Saying PSA has brought to market the stuff they showed off last year is delusional when almost nothing they showed off has been released. The X9 caught my attention, but I'm not particularly upset that it hasn't materialized, because if we're being honest, it would still be a PSA product.

I've found that if it isn't from the big brands (Colt, Ruger, Winchester, Browning, S&W, Henry etc) a majority of the stuff at shot show never sees the light of day.

The STG44 model will be released soon no worries.

Hello everyone, Stuff and Things has apparently somehow figured out a way to make an FRT Burst mechanism. If they can get it working with a standard selector M16A2 clones are in for a real treat

There is also a new Cassette FRT on the market, the Partisan Triggers Disruptor. It's like half the price of a rarebreed and only slightly more expensive than an Arizona regulator. According to one Arfcommer it sounds like the most refined Cassette FRT yet. It was designed in cooperation with the guy behind those old Taccom 3MR Triggers. The guys behind this are apparently also working on a burst mechanism according to arfcom?

A small data point, some pop up FRT retailer, cheese finger tactical, has enough capacity and expects enough demand to offer up 500 FRT's per drop

A Much more interesting data point. There is a small chance that we could be at the very beginning of the FRT race to the bottom for pricing
Contact Front Solutions is selling Kabuto Drop in derivatives they call "The Little Shit" for as little as $25, granted that's the all polymer model, but the one with an aluminium housing and a steel cam is only $50

B&T explicitly condoned and assisted in development of FRT's for their guns, Swiss Karl Bruger officially more American than anyone else in the firearms industry?

Probably me. I have six of the dot only eotechs. I don’t use anything else.

Could have been me as well. I bought one of the green EOTech EXPS-2s for my Vector Gen 3, and I remember talking about holosights being better for astigmatism than normal red dots. Pretty happy with my EOTech, and they just look right on most SMG style weapons, especially the Vector with it's blocky shape. I've also got one of the Vector holosights on my FosTech Origin 12 and like it a lot too, but it has a normal red reticle and I like green better.

You always bring the best gun news. I would love a burst function on an AR, can you imagine 3 rounds of 77 grain OTM? That'd be a great defense option.

B&T and its owner are awesome. I wish their guns weren't double what they should be, but I like that there's a company that doesn't hate the civilian market, and it's awesome to hear that he helped develop FRTs for his guns. You know he would sell us select fire weapons in a heartbeat if it was legal for him to. I will probably buy a B&T in the future, possibly the USW-A1 since it looks cool.
