Not only does that create NFA compliance nightmare amount of paperwork, but you will be changing the plastic suppressor as often as you change your magazine.
the $3.50 in PA6-CF and resin and scotchcast it takes to make a FTN5 or literally just print an OP9 means that the economy of scale works for homemade suppressors better than buying a can. modern designs can last up to a thousand rounds if not more.

This also might kill the JAKL 2.0 as you're getting proven long stroke, different mag wells and a reason to have propriety lower....
The JAKL seems to kill itself just fine from what people are saying and showing, and I question the seriousness of anyone who sees it as a competitor with any modern rifle.
The BRN-180, which has fallen victim to the modernity of the MLOK handguard, is encroaching on the territory of those who ripped off the original AR-18 bolt so nobody's taking it seriously when it's the same fucking piston gun as theirs.

A guy on reddit is claiming to have submitted 100+ Eforms and used control number data to extrapolate that there have been 750,000 Eforms submissions this fiscal year, and based on whether or not I understand a comment from the thread correctly (claiming that control numbers were at 331k at midnight on the 1st) that means there's been roughly 410k forms submitted in less thsn 10 days, and potentially more.
GOA are claiming that ATF have received 130,000 Eforms this year, which I would assume refers to calender year, so those numbers might be optimistic

i thought they said they got 150k on jan 1 alone.

edit:
the 600k might include transfers to dealers (form 3?) so doubling the count for each suppressor if you are buying it online.

Newest addition to my autistic arsenal a 1916 SMLE no.1 MK3, it has been sporterized by some retard by cutting down the forestock and adding a rubber recoil pad, but he didn't cut down the barrel or drill the receiver and the bore is immaculate, also has Austrian Gendarmrie markings on it, planning on restoring it to original spec all I need is the wood and a nose cap and it should be fine. Will keep you updated.

It will always piss me off that boomer faggots in the 60's would chop up historical rifles and make them look worse in everyway possible. That's a badass rifle I hope the restoration goes well.

in the time they would not be historical, it would be like complaining about someone putting mlock rails on an ar or modifying a hi point. they where just the cheep guns of their times, and not all sporterazations are horrible.

i try not to hate on former gun owners for doing the thing of their times. they did not have the abundance of new inexpensive guns we do today, so they made what they had into what they needed/wanted.

The necessity of Mlok on almost any modern rifle handguard needs to be studied.

I got hands on with a Gen 1 Galil Ace and it was so nice, the handguard fit the rest of the rifle.

The Gen 2 is FAT

I like the BRN-180 because it lets you have a folding stock which the Caracal 816 and SIG 516 don't as they recoil like a normal AR, so they use the buffer tube.

fuckin hate it because handling bare aluminum sucks ass and then you have to spend fifty bucks to either get a foregrip, a slanted foregrip or a bunch of fucking rubber strips
At least the Magpul handguards have texture and don't make you hate yourself but everything has to be free-floated now and you can't use clamshells anymore.

I'd upload a video of it firing but fucking reddit won't let me download it and neither will the German airsoft site supposedly hosting it

Try this on for size
I had to manually download the video and audio stream by yanking the URLs out of inspector and giving them to yt-dlp, then mux the files together with ffmpeg.

A lot of downloaders I tried were getting confused and only snagged the video playlist, but if you filter requests by "m3" in the network tab of the browser's inpsector, refresh the page, and keep an eye out you'll note two different m3u8 files (playlists), copy the URL for each and throw that at yt-dlp (no extra options needed) to get the components, the mux the files together. I did have to trim the audio to match video length during the mux process since the audio file seems to be a bit fucky on detected duration even though there's only meaningful content for the length of the video

I've had previous restoration successes with my mosins and carcanos I've heard lee enfield stocks need a little bit of hand fitting but im looking forwards to the challange.

SMLEs and No.4s operate under some really bizarre specifications to control barrel harmonics, the SMLE has one spring about a third of the way from receiver to muzzle and another spring just before the nosecap which works counter to said spring. This is on top of barrel-to-wood fitment. The No.4 is better but it still looks like a massive pain in the dick.
It's not guide, but this Bloke on the Range video does a good enough job at a vague explanation for the SMLE.

Idk why the br*tish thought it was a good idea to have they're main mass produced rifle to be hand fitted to their stocks. They could have just put a thicker barrel or somthing else in, but they rube Goldberged a spring for the barrel. That glassy lee enfield action is worth the headache tho.

It saves on weight and it's also the best bolt action used in combat for both world wars so I can't argue against what they did. Except for attaching the trigger to the trigger guard, that's pants-on-head retarded and they finally fixed that with the No.4 Mk.II by attaching it to the buttcap portion of the receiver.

I legitimately cannot see the reason why. They're all over the fucking place already, I guess maybe not the .45 or 10mm but you just know they're going to lead with the 5906 or something.
Hey now, I have a 5946 and its great! One of the best DA only triggers on a handgun that I've ever fired that wasn't a revolver.

But yeah, they would give us those instead of something cool like ASPs, 1006's and 1076's.

The 5906 pops up occasionally around $600 online, I nearly bought one for less at a gun show but the grip makes the M9 feel quaint and cozy and I just don't have the same nostalgia for it like I do the 645 because of Don Johnson.
Fair point about parts, but kits from cut up evidence/buyback guns are available too.
I put the straight grips on my 5946, it changes the feel quite a bit, almost 2011 ish.
