The DOE CLONE WILL CONTINUE TO GET SILLY

Autistically collecting firearms you say.... Uh oh 😳 literally me fr fr

Well my collection is carefully planned out and not autistic at all.....

Speaking of autism, every video featuring a new S&W revolver these days has a sperg sperging about revolver QC ... Are they really THAT BAD?

I have a ~2023 production Model 60 and a ~2022/2023 production Model 617 and a ~2023/2024 Model 66 Combat Magnum and they're just fine IMHO....
Lets be honest, firearms are a hyper consumerist hobby.

Also consumerism is defined by our desire to acquire more stuff, not how much money we spend on said stuff.

Now I would never ever use, make or own suppressors as that's like illegal and stuff.

There's now also FULLY 3d printed designs like the OP9
It's pretty suboptimal, the printed threaded mount actually works surprisingly well but it's so weak, PLA+ broke after like 15 shots in total and that's after having .380 being fed through it not even actual 9x19mm. It makes for an excellent .22lr can and you can easily reduce the bore diameter to 25 cal by just plastic welding a disc to the front, which is also the weakest part of the design.

Rimfire anything with suppressor is amazing, both rifles and handguns are just so much nicer to shoot and it can get quiet enough to really see what the Mossad was talking about with their Berettas 71s

The only one I've seen with an advertised lifespan was a rimfire can that was also rated for 5.56. DeskPop did a burndown on one, they're rated for up to 3 rounds of 5.56 per minute, up to 500 rounds for the lifetime of the can. They ran it with an FRT until it exploded and it still lasted several mags so I think it's probably a conservative rating. Tried to find the video but didn't find it in the two seconds I was willing to invest into looking so I can't tell you the brand/model but at least in the very niche sub-space that suppressor fills it would be considered semi-consumable (presumably it lasts basically forever with 22lr even after the 500 rounds of 5.56)
Give the Ruger P-series guns a look. dirt cheap and my P85 has a fantastic trigger.

Why are we talking shit on suppressors? It's basically the single biggest upgrade you can make to almost any rifle. Cans are a big deal and you should get a good one. Saker or RC2. Velos if your committed to flowthrough.

I think I posted this video like a week ago but all this discussion of suppressors and the new GT video on it brought it back to the forefront of my attention the Ambient Arms Exo. I think if it can post good numbers on PewScience (which they claim it all be able to do) (yes PS is not infallible, yes the way they compile their data is proprietary and secret) it could represent a big leap forward in suppressor technology, especially for military applications, It solves one of the biggest problems with suppressors, and that's that they get real hot. This could have serious application for machinegun suppressors

Heat mitigation is great not only for military applications but also Barrel and suppressor life.

I'm extremely interested as to just how large the air intake ports are, here you can clearly visualize what they mean by "ported barrel in the suppressor"

I don't know much about suppressors but PLA seems like a terrible choice, it's less tough and more brittle than even PETG and melts sooner. I don't know about the best choice (888Flux recommended carbon fiber reinforced nylon, that's probably even better), but PETG is cheap and not much harder to work with if you're just getting started.

AFAIK PLA+ solves almost all those problems. IIRC it has better wear and impact characteristics

Nylons are better but opinion has evolved recently to think that it's overkill for what people want to do.

but PLA seems like a terrible choice
It is, though it was the recommended baseline plastic in the build guide which is iffy.
CF Nylon is all the rage nowdays and for good reason, I'm sure a OP9 made in it would last significantly more especially seeing how not-mine broke, next one I'll make in ABS just for the funi.

Argentina is really funny when it comes to cans, they're 100% banned but ONLY for actually firearms, meaning that you can get a standard aluminum suppressor that can absolutely hold up to even rifle cartridges but so long as you slap a FOR AIRGUNS ONLY, DO NOT USE IN REAL FIREARMS in the product description you're not just fine but they are completely unregulated and sold online shipped to your door.

Good thing I would never break the law.

In a totally and completely unrelated note, took the Bersa Thunder X out for a couple hundred rounds and a box of the ridiculously priced Magtech +P 85gr JHPs, it was surprising to see how little I could notice the difference in recoil between them and regular FMJs.

Forgot the shot timer so had to improvise, basic bitch Nylon holster is comfy to wear but slow, this is your reminder to go out and shoot.

I found another disassembled gun in my dad's stash, an RIA 1911. Not sure what the plan was for this one, it looks relatively new and in decent condition.

However, it an attempt to put it back together myself, I have done something extremely retarded. In my defense I've barely even shot a 1911. The disconnector is, I think, supposed to go into this little hole at the top of the frame in front of the hammer. Somehow I got it into the top of the magwell instead, and in that condition somehow managed to nearly reassemble the whole thing until I noticed something wrong with the safety. Now I can't get the safety back out. I think it can't properly align. In theory, what goes in, must come out, but I screwed around with it for the better part of an hour with no progress. I've tried every alignment I can think of as well as a bigger hammer.

I have found ZERO about this particular problem online. I think I may have invented a completely new way to fuck up. I'm seeing some things that say the hammer needs to be cocked to removed the safety, but the hammer is completely loose, probably because of the wrongly assembled disconnector. Is there anything I can do here or have I fucked up badly enough that I'm going to have to explain this to a gunsmith?

Video i took awhile back of my bubba'd M44 Mosin going off.

Was this posted? TLDW: Gun shelved because "muh ammo is too much money"
I was genuinely going to be the 1% who would buy it (and have it blow up in my face because its PSA). It probably would've been cheaper than my Barrett M95 that I bought a while back.

But I was told ammunition isn't moving anymore! Muh Trump slump! They're selling at a loss!

It couldn't be much worse than what I've heard about the Noreen ULR X.

Oh noo but SIG is of the (retarded) opinion that 75-80k PSI 6.8x51mm totally won't wreck barrels under 10,000 rounds in semi or full auto.

God I hate the M7 so much it's an abomination.

The ONLY good things are that it's short stroke and has a folding stock.

Dude, FUCK PSA man what the fuck. I say this as an ardent defender of the JUSTASGOOD title but I am so sick of everything they promise being total vaporware. I bet money this is going to happen to the X5.7 too.

S&W is much more likely to make a metal frame version of the M&P 10mm.
That would be mighty tempting for me. For all the very good reasons the 10mm is not a great pistol round I sure do like it.
This and the Gen 3 516 are going to sell like crazy I think (NGL if they drop the 516 upper by itself I might just get one
If they're not insultingly expensive I'd be interested to try one too. Do you care at all about the ability to use a side charging handle?
Now if I had the cash for the really fancy in ear mold electric plugs I'd probably just use their but they're $350+ easy
I know exactly where you're coming from but I have to say if you want in-ear stuff nothing else even comes close. You for sure pay for it though I'd argue you definitely get your money's worth.

What do you all think about safari rifles and magnified optics? I'm personally not a fan. Now keep in mind this is coming from someone who's never been to Africa and has never hunted anything quite that large. I've yet to harvest anything at all with my one safari rifle.

I put a red dot on my CZ 550 and that's way better than the irons the rifles come with. I like the idea of fast sighting solution because one was able to stalk rather close to the animal, like what many men did with the old double rifles.
