That is extremely cheap for a double rifle. It makes me doubt it is regulated. Regulation of the bores, which determines where the rounds hit is a fine gunmaking art. a properly regulated double rifle can place the rounds less than an inch apart from each other at the target range (generally short for double rifles). A double rifle is regulated for a chosen loading at a given velocity and will be marginally accurate with other loads unless they duplicate the regulation load. often on old doubles you'll find the loading (projectile weight and velocity) stamped on the flat of the barrels. i'm sure you can get it to shoot just fine but you'll have a lot of load testing ahead of you.TTAG recently had a review about a Pedersoli side-by-side .44 Mag rifle. The design would suit the purpose, but that fancy wood, bluing and finish are overkill. Based on one vendor I've found, it's also $2,705.00. At that price you could get close to a dozen used military caliber bolt actions, much more suited to a survival situation.
But it sure is purdy, the wealthy hipster's perfect safe queen..

I kinda like the idea but so much about double rifles suck dick, especially if there's no tensioners to regulate the barrels. I just wish we could get proper double-barreled howdah pistols instead of their crappy .410/.45LC thing.TTAG recently had a review about a Pedersoli side-by-side .44 Mag rifle. Those screencaps are ancient by now(see the Karl thread in Internet Famous) but Larry talked positively of Rhodesia in the Ian/Vickers FAL discussion. What are these fags referring to regarding Larry Vickers?
The shitty Baikals(Were they Baikal?) both the SxS and O/U had tensioning screws to adjust the barrels, which was impressive but the rest of the gun sure was bad. That is extremely cheap for a double rifle. It makes me doubt it is regulated.
snip
Properly built double rifles, newly built cost at a minimum about 8 thousand dollars.
You tell the factory what cartridge loading you intend to use and the gunmaker regulates the rifle for that load and that load only. This is why these mass produced factory double rifles are generally not that accurate, because they are not regulated.I kinda like the idea but so much about double rifles suck dick, especially if there's no tensioners to regulate the barrels. Look at the april fools video from forgotten weapons last year. If the real deal is anything like the fake he used in that video, it's pretty straightforward.edit: also wait, how exactly does one rock and lock a magazine like that, it looks like it's secured to the gas block but there's not a lot of slop between the bottom of the gun and the top of that tube.
Contradictory statements. I'd have to be desperate in a dangerous world to carry a clapped out surplus gun like that pic of what PSA is selling. Not that I see a point in having a .380 that is every bit as large as a compact 9mm.I have no intention for using it outside of plinking, But I think I'd like it as a jacket carry during winter.
Get the Beretta 84 instead.Any thoughts on which I should go with?
If I were you, I would buy the one in 9x18 and use the cost savings to buy some ammo. The free holster is a nice addition, and even if you jacket carry it for some reason, there are some Hornady hollow points in 9x18 that are ok. I wouldn't spend 400 on a milsurp handgun in 380. I would spend a little more and get a Bodyguard 2.0 or M&P Shield EZ if I wanted something actually viable for carrying, but that's just me.Hi there, PSA is selling a CZ-82 chambered in 9 x 18 Makarov for about $200. They're beat to shit, but look cool and come with a free holster as well. However, Classic Firearms has a CZ-83 in 380 ACP in "good" condition for almost twice as much. I already have 380 ammo, but wouldn't mind buying a couple boxes of 9 x 18 just for the Model 82. You can count my vote towards the 83, 9x18 Makarov is no longer the optimal choice it was ~10 years ago now that there's appropriate .380 ammunition available.Already covered.

the good news is those 82's look worse than they actually are. it's just the coating is shit. and ngl you'd be a retard for carrying it. they're decently reliable but they're still decades-old surplus, and you REALLY don't wanna skimp out on something that could save your life if push comes to shove, unless you value being stylish over your own life, then do whatever. that goes for both the 82 and 83 btw.Hi there, PSA is selling a CZ-82 chambered in 9 x 18 Makarov for about $200. Why would you willingly support IO Inc?and FYI, if you're gonna buy it get it from RTI
RTI is very "buyer beware" but these cz 82's are a known quantity. and all these 82's are coming from RTI anyways so no matter what you're supporting them. might as well get the best bang for your buck. Why would you willingly support IO Inc?
The problem with it that is that it is way underpowered. Double rifles are meant for dangerous game cartridges, not pistol ammo.TTAG recently had a review about a Pedersoli side-by-side .44 Mag rifle. That's just because they're luddites who don't use modern technology or manufacturing techniques. The Gilboa Snake is a double rifle that is user-regulatable with set screws, but it was designed by Israelis, not aristocratic Europeans. That is extremely cheap for a double rifle. It makes me doubt it is regulated.
