Not really gonna get into the .380 debate except to say Italian police used to carry them. I've personally never had any use for .22 and .380 as a defensive round. I used to carry a .45 but modern 9mm loads are more than adequate, it's more about shot placement and being able to react under stress than the myth of "stopping power".

I will say this that the standard issue irons on the modern day Ruger 10/22 are horrible.

I wonder how come they don't use the Mini-14 iron sights on those, would be much better.

And the worse part is to change the sights, I basically need to see a gunsmith as I don't trust myself to do a good job on removing the current sights lol.

380 is a hot debate. Funny enough changes in bullet tech past 15 years I have my makarov at a point converted to 380 now back to 9mak.

I do like never carry it. On my lazy or light clothes carry I rock a over 100 year old 32acp lol so maybe don't listen to me.

10/22 really needs better sights. Its annoying. I swear they have a deal with cheap brownells to sell red dots lol.

Tech Sights are a pretty popular upgrade if you still want to use irons. The rear sight comes out easily enough, but I needed to cut the front one with a Dremel tool to get it out.

Another option would to buy the T/CR-22, which is a 10/22 clone that comes with a decent set of sights from the factory.

Tech sights are great. Sadly I own 0 10/22 now. I pass mine off. I've bought a ton red pill someone on fire arms and 2A. Then donate. It's the best tool for that and intro imho.

personally I like irons it has a very old and manly feeling. But I love good optics too.

roughly 3 weeks I'll get my mp5 sd barrel. I'm so beyond amped to beta it. Also if so don't narc when my squirls die out back.

Well one 22lr rifle I would love to get is the STG-44 version but its too big and heavy. Some gun store had one in stock and I tried it out, felt heavier than my AR.

I managed to get a nice rail for the 10/22 that lives up great with the iron sights unlike the factory weaver one that comes with the 10/22.

At least this video taught me why my range says no steel core.

Lately, I do a lot more shooting for groups with my bolt-action rifles than stuff with my ARs. Part of it is just a cost/ammunition conservation thing, but I like the relaxed pace and it gives me more time to just hang out and shoot the breeze with other gun people. I have a Savage .22 that will punch half-MOA groups all day long with Federal Match, but I've yet to find another brand/loading that it likes.

Hit range up today and shot with my buddy who, don't get me wrong he's a good guy but he deff thinks more money more betta on terms of fire arms. I legit brought my most ghetto AR a parts build from shit people donated to me, it's a total shit ball. I drove tacks all day his gucci shit well, he's on paper.

He fell in love with my PTR mp5 and like legit was on their website in need of one. It's a great rifle and now I got my SBR stamp I love how it feels like a real A2 (rented real giggle ones) .

He also really liked my FR8 I drug along, It's just a handy rifle in all forms imho.

Money only goes so far and won't buy skill. Did you shoot his rifle with similar results?

Personally, I'm just a hobbiest, but I really know my shooting shit, I preface with this not to brag, but I'm no tier 1 go fast low drag person.

I just didn't like his lay out, I did out shoot him using it, he just doesn't shoot much and keeps buying new gun toys so his rig is different each time.

"Beware the man with one gun"

I'm pretty much in the same place you are. I shoot some steel challenge (rimfire optic pistol mostly) and the occasional club match, but I know enough to be someone that people ask for advice (or to zero their rifles without burning a bunch of ammo - it seems that boresighting is a lost art).

I used to compete in 2 gun, and often dunked on people with meme layouts. It's far from guns where people buy more than they need and imho hamper themselves, when I was younger I did a lot of track time car racing, my little civic (with a ton of work) would be up your BMWs ass all day.

I always think on the mind set, sure if you're a fucking Navy SEAL you should shoot something nicer than a kel tec. But if you shoot 2 times a year, don't bother with a STI race pistol for carry.

Ha. You sound like my brother from another mother (no homo), track days and all. I'd be all about two gun if the local clubs weren't fuddy as fuck.

Huh, today I learned that industrial shotguns are a thing. Kind of want to mount one on my truck.

I have one and it’s fun. I got it new back in the day when ATI flooded the market with them and they were selling for “get this out of my gun store prices”. Even came in a wooden envelope crate, which was cool. If you ever buy one, remember that the sights are still regulated for 7.92x33mm and not .22lr so you need to set it to about 800 meters on the rear sight to get close at 50 yards. There’s also a weaver rail that replaces the rear right for mounting scopes and such and I’d recommend that if you ever want to do any serious shooting.

This is a national disgrace, how are the Chinks competing with us, we should be winning this battle.
