I think "Cultural Appropriation" is one of those things I think even wokes realize is dumb to get upset about.

But Mentis takes a .... unique approach by talking about it more as an intellectual property issue. Which I'm not sure what he's doing with that.

Yeah I think he brings that up here as well.

And like, yeah copyright needs to be overhauled, in the US especially. It just felt weird to mix that with cultural appropriation.

I've listened to it and it would be easy to skewer. But first answer me this. We previously engaged. My conclusion was that you didn't engage intellectually honestly. You seemed to think I didn't understand you.

What could be gained from me skewering this less than midwits opinions and half baked arguments?

Give a good personal answer and I'll show the errors in what he says.

Mostly I was curious. I had begun to wonder if our last engagement was the result of some crossed wires.

But if you're already dismissing Mentis as a "midwit" (presumably for saying Racism is Bad) then.... nah, I think I've seen everything I need to from you.

If you dismiss things for calling something midwit, why don't you apply the same thing to him? I just mirrored his comment.

Btw I would take "I'm curious, and I think you might give a new perspective to consider" as a valid answer to expand.

See this is part of the problem.

No, you did not "just mirror his comment," and that you think you did is quite telling. In our last engagement you had trouble understanding distinctions and nuances, and this just continues that.

Here's a hint: Mentis doesn't use "midwit" to mean someone is stupid, nor is it just a snarl for anyone who disagrees with him. Look at the very theme of this video, which is ranking beliefs according to what level of intelligence people can have while still honestly believing these things (not just declaring they're all dumb).

You by contrast watched five minutes of a video (of a youtuber I'm sure you had no previous familiarity with) and declared him "less than a midwit" because something he said offended you.

See the difference?

You don't know why, because I haven't expanded on it. That you are now filling in what you presume my motivation is rather than asking for it, shows the futility it is even for this minor engagement with you.

Note, you were unwilling to engage with sources other people shared in the previous thread, but I actually did take the time to listen and understand what you shared with me. Something to think about.

You've declared Mentiswave is "less than a midwit."

1. Have you seen any videos of his besides this one?

2. Did you watch the entire video or just the part I called attention to?

I'll admit I may have knee-jerked earlier, because someone calling Mentis "less than a midwit" is quite a bold statement. Not that he's a great intellect or anything like that, but he's clearly put a lot of thought and research into the things he says.

To be frank, I am curious what you believe he got wrong.
