Metal Gear

i might be slow why is this good again? modding, right?
This is obviously awesome for archival purposes and the game is a classic. My question is in a game like MGS2 which is a tightly put together experience, what are the hopes for where modding goes from this?
Restoration, archival, and then eventually custom content. There are hopes that people will be able to piece back together the Arsenal Gear crashing into New York sequence that was cut after 9/11. The E3 floodwater effects were already posted. And people are already working for fixes to the Master Collection by using these sources.

Another example of cut content restoration.

After things get settled I then assume we'll start seeing more original content/wacky shit, which is what usually happens with these things. Very exciting. Right now we're just seeing the initial microcosm.

I wonder the potential for portable ops and Peace Walker rebuilds with this game. And maybe even later game mission "demakes".
I wouldn't put this past the MGS community; ideas like this are probably possible.

HOLY FUCKING SHIT WE COULD GET MGS2 AS KOJIMA INTENDED???

I always fucking hated how everything released around or after 9/11 had to be censored. Spider-Man 2 for the PS1 also got the same treatment, amongst others.

Ah sorry, i didnt know that
I stopped following Metal Gear after Hideo Kojima left
since every effort after that is just a Konami cashgrab to profit from the creation of someone whose no longer a part of it.
hence why i didnt buy MG Alpha or whatever its called.

its like... supporting Star Wars after George Lucas left
its like... supporting Rings of Power which goes against all the morality and teachings of J.R.R Tolkien
and etc.

but im glad people get to experience PEACEWALKER
and all the other side projects that links to the overall narrative of Metal Gear.
including Metal Gear Portable Ops.

Please leak all of the other ones and other games stuck on PS2/PS3 with either no port or shitty PC ports lol
It's funny how a lot of games in the 2010's had really awful PC ports. Only PC port I remember being a 10/10 job was Alien Isolation, which is shocking considering Creative Assembly's last game beforehand was Total War: Rome II, which had a terrible launch with bugs and shit performance out the ass.

All my MGS Ghost Babel truthers rise up!!!

metal gear solid is obviously a pastiche of a bunch of kurt russel movies and on it's surface it's some basic bitch Tom Clancy movie but Metal Gear Solid is ultimately a story about not holding children to the sins of their fathers and letting them choose their own legacy. like every single character in that game is essentially forced into doing the things they're doing because they were essentially born into it and solid snake is really the only one that actually takes any agency over it instead of wallowing in self-pity
thank you captain obvious, we wouldn't be able to tell that by ourselves. it's not like Solid Snake takes the name Iroquois Pliskin and explicitly explains that Iroquois means Snake

Personally I think Kojima is a gay faggot and that Konami are also gay faggots. I like Metal Gear but I think Kojima is a little too up his own ass for my taste, that and he's making games with trannies now so any good will I had for him kinda died.

Peacewalkers great though, hilariously satirical.

I am actually curious as to what he was cooking in MGS2-MGSV
since there were times when Konami stepped in and made things half-baked
like MGSV

Though if left to his own vices would it end up being a mess like Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon?

You could say that... Metal Gear fans right now are RISING right?

Sorry i have to, but very interested to see how modders uncover everything and apply it as a big comp mod.
