i might be slow why is this good again? modding, right?
Restoration, archival, and then eventually custom content. There are hopes that people will be able to piece back together the Arsenal Gear crashing into New York sequence that was cut after 9/11. The E3 floodwater effects were already posted. And people are already working for fixes to the Master Collection by using these sources.This is obviously awesome for archival purposes and the game is a classic. My question is in a game like MGS2 which is a tightly put together experience, what are the hopes for where modding goes from this?

lAfter things get settled I then assume we'll start seeing more original content/wacky shit, which is what usually happens with these things. Very exciting. Right now we're just seeing the initial microcosm.
I wouldn't put this past the MGS community; ideas like this are probably possible.I wonder the potential for portable ops and Peace Walker rebuilds with this game. And maybe even later game mission "demakes".
