They have a beta patch for CPU's that can't handle SSE 4.1 instructions (like AMD Phenoms), but none of the other issues are fixed yet.

Warning, TPP is a roulette wheel for a lot of people on PC, some have it start just fine, others are getting all sorts of issues.

Have you played Ground Zeroes, by any chance? How did that run on your machine?

lol this must be why my sister's boyfriend sticks with console.

Runs fine on max settings. Apparently, a LOT of people having issues with TPP had Ground Zeroes work just fine.

Most bizarrely, it uses the same codebase, but even non SSE 4.1 processors can run Ground Zeroes fine.

There is a fix for the black screen and white dot issue: Reset your resolution to something like 1280x720 temporarily, start game, change settings ingame to whatever you like, close it, reset resolution to whatever you had it on, should work fine.

Apparently, if you use a lower resolution, the game freaks out and doesn't render properly.

Does collecting herbs and shit actually do anything? I hated that resource collecting crap In DA Inquisition and it's equally unfun here.

I played a couple hours last night, I kind of like the resource stuff so far. It gives me a reason to explore every building like I wanted to anyway. LOL.

The only problem I have on PC is sometimes in a cut scene a distortion line slowly goes down my screen.

I haven't even finished the first real mission yet (took forever to load and the intro is long as fuck) but my prediction is that fire guy is Col. Volgin from MGS3

I'm pretty sure that was confirmed already.

Yeah it's pretty obvious so I wouldn't be surprised.

Ishmael/Ahab theory spoiler in tag

I don't actually know yet, but it's pretty obvious that you're not actually Big Boss and just a body double or something because you're eye is not missing, just blind, and Ahab has the same voice as you.

it helps with development of stuff at Mother Base I think.

At some point I think you'll be able to send staff members out on resource-gathering missions themselves.
The herb collecting is kind of meh but I do like breaking into bases to steal resources.

EDIT: I also discovered that you can CQC D-Dog and that it makes you feel like a terrible person.

DD is best buddy. Is a mini radar that distracts enemies without bl getting killed and nobody in Afghanistan seems concerned about a dog with a eye patch.

Anybody playing on PC? I'm hearing radically different things from two people. One friend claims his game is stuttering and crashing like crazy and another friend says his game is running perfectly at a silky smooth 60 fps.

Plays fine for me, but apparently it gives radically different results for some people depending on CPU/GPU.
