I dont know what you did to break the game that badly but now im scared because i did things out of order.

Also thats the reason why i dont like mutations like kinetic spikes because everything in this game reacts to being hit and ruins whatever combo you had going (like lab mutants), thorns mutation will forever be my favourite type of mutation because it doesnt make the enemy react, is nice little retribution damage and is a good counter for the fucking bats in the caves.

DO NOT REDEEM THE CARD CAT.

I couldn't find this online so I wanted to post it here where everyone can find it. TRAPS the passive does not work with the rogue basic attack to put down traps on each space it passes like I want it to. it works on a regular empty square.

Had a run yesterday where I soloed nearly everything from the end of alley up to chaos with a single druid, almost entirely turn-1 wins. Probably the single most gamebreaking combo I've seen given how trivial it is to set up.

All you need is Elk Form on a high int cat with any item that adds stacks of bleed/poison/bruise on contact. You can just trample through the enemies, refresh your move and repeat 6-8 times per turn (scaling to 10+ when you get Elk Form+ and the move refresh drops to 2 mana). Even if you don't have the contact items elk's throw still adds bruise. There's also a druid passive which I had that gives you a free turn on the turn you transform. Combined together any fight with trample-able enemies was over the instant the druid got his first turn, later on I picked up a mama leech and threw it on him so every three move refreshes he'd spawn a leech which I could use elk melee to throw at 2x2s for bruise so he was still effective on large bosses.

I cant kill the Mother. Is the strategy just use AOE?
Secret: fighter's overkill-to-explosion skill explodes when you kill the tumor things while it's trapped.
Double-posting because this is unrelated, but I seem to have run into a pseudo-softlock while fighting Zapphauser.
You forger Arthur. Arthur when he was able to use Split The Atom was amazing!

I found a Mod that completely removes Steven from the game and the game is amazing now!

Also apparently Guillotina's internal/beta name was ornstein and smaug...

Easiest way is probably with a ranger with the scatter shot or a mage with meteor swarm. I just did the quest where your spells get replaced with a random one every time you use them and my butcher who was kind of shit just tanked and beat the piss out of it.

Think the secret is to have someone ready to free your main damager when they get stuck so they don't have to waste their basic attack.

Tbh if Mewgenics gets anywhere near the same quality of post-release support as TBOI, then I'm sure most if not all of the current qualms I have will end up addressed in the future.

I'd give my left nut for Mewgenics but with Repentance-level DLC.

I have no idea who Arthur is and now I'm too scared to ask.

On the other hand, I have forever cucked Steven by savescumming the manual way: by opening file explorer and copying old save states into a temporary folder.

It has taken a mild toll on my sanity, but it has become fucking invaluable after the Zapphauser softlock. I feel dirty doing it, yet do not harbor any more long-term guilt. I have played 100 hours without any story and the campaign isn't even back in my sights yet. I am repenting for this simply by continuing to play. If the game gets to torture me, I will torture it back.

And pray to fucking god I can do a Jericho run without somehow getting into another softlock situation. Seriously, I've had to abort five separate run attempts due to this little shit. What is your problem, old man? Why are you so cursed? You have 17 luck!!

Hope they get the dlc where i get to beat the shit out of beanies with my (worn) steel knuckles and then shot him in the back of the head with The Loner.

Finished Act 3 on Impossible. I might have overprepared a bit so it was a cakewalk compared to my Act 1 run on the same difficulty.

Just do a billion turns before the enemy can even react

I can tell you with no ego, these are my finest cats.

If on your journey, you should encounter God...

…God will be scratched.

There was also a Cleric who was pretty much only there for occasional debuff removal and an emotional support Monk who got really shitty actives and didn't amount to anything ultimately. Not like he needed to lmao

Now the only milestones left are finishing up Act 2(I haven't even unlocked Crazy difficulty for it yet) and beating the house bosses on Impossible.

Speaking of DLC:

I know that so far they've confirmed we're getting 4 new classes for the first DLC; three of which have supposedly already been guessed. Pink and Lime were mentioned in an AMA as DLC collar colors. Any theories?

I'm pretty positive some kind of gunslinger/gun class is one, since that's pretty obvious. I'd actually hazard a guess that it will end up using the lime tag. Adjacent classes seem to use different shades of the same color (Fighter/Butcher are both red, Psychic/Mage are both purple, Cleric/Necro are black and white), and so far Hunter is alone using a dark forest-y green, so a second ranged classing using a brighter shade of the same color makes sense.

Pink I'm really not sure. It seems distinct enough compared to the reds to maybe be its own thing. Maybe some kind of dancer or charm-based class? One that focuses on "stealing" enemies to make minions out of would be pretty fun.

I feel like a lot of class ideas are kind of subsumed into existing ones already, like Druids basically being half-bard and half-summoner, but they also made Fighters and Butchers their own thing so who knows. Something like a chemistry class based on consumables, maybe a paladin of some kind? I know clerics can give paladin-esque builds but I'm imagining something more like a Tank or Fighter with some heals on the side kind of deal.

ETA: I just realized that we have exactly 4 cat bosses that don't correlate to any current class: Zodiac, Gambit, Stacy, and Trampy. I could also see all four of those being turned into their own classes.

I keep seeing that I haven't finished the man in the moon with x or y class.
And I keep stupidly trying.

I can sleepwalk through crater but the moon probably has the most dead runs out of any area because of those stupid fucking meteor enemies. And it doesn't even have a furniture box like bunker/core does so I literally never go unless I have to for a sidequest or smth.

have played 100 hours without any story and the campaign isn't even back in my sights yet.
Brother at this point I'm surprised you haven't just started a new save. You could've gotten back to where you are now like three times over.

make that six separate runs
he got blood frenzy and swept my team in one turn because all he does is crit (and apply marked after critting so that he can crit even harder next time)

edit the seventh was teamwiped while the man in the moon had 3 HP left thanks to the FUCKING ASS-RAPE ALIENS

sorry for kind of late response, the specific "fuck you" option is a hunter with rubber arrows/rubber cement and scatter shot, then aim scatter shot as close as you can to their corner so the target radius is nearly totally on the mother. if you can have that setup, then typically all strategy is irrelevant. if you don't, prioritize her thorn pillars when they appear, and try to have some method of dealing with her tumor spawn. hunter with at least just scatter shot though is very recommended, or mage with meteors like manchester said but that's a much rarer ability for me, especially when not doing fancy run bullshit. her instant kill mechanic is more generous than you'd think though, just make sure if the tumors grab anything (it's in the air flailing) you prioritize destroying that tumor.
Speaking of DLC:
i heard someone speculate lime could possibly be a alchemist like dd's plague doctor, but who knows. in terms of just general shit, for variety there really needs to be a direct alt healer for cleric, since druid's a buffer/debuffer first. like dd occultist. needs to be damage competition/alt for hunter like a gunslinger, and there needs to be another direct magic damage class. surprisingly little general hard magic damage in the game when you really notice when working with something like Magic Weakness. it really is up in the air though mostly, like you said, they're not afraid to step on other classes' toes when they want, so "well this already does that" is kind of irrelevant. there's no class that really goes in on hurting itself to use abilities/taking punishments/status effects for bonuses, or something similar to how the cultists act in the bunker. mage/necro and others have some minor but it'd be neat to have a more direct one, a dark knight or blood mage. room for a alchemist or more dot class thief alt, or a duelist class that focuses on dodges and counters. or a class that stacks based on how much damage or kills it gets throughout the run, starting shitty

druids are fucking everything but a direct/alternative "cute cat that transforms into abomination" would be cool. like lol gnar or dd abomination. honestly, i like druid, but damn nigga, he takes the slots of multiple different classes but with a muddier pool. you could have a class with specific companions instead of rapid summons, a shapeshifter, a bard, and a landscaping mage. for a dlc, imo something like a duelist/paladin, dark mage (maybe also healer like dd occultist), gunslinger, and alchemist (dot dude) would be nice. there's always room for wildcard classes though not based on pre existing stuff, or based on obscure shit. you could rig tons of classes from defunct mobas, like the old lotr one.

Good luck dragging a mage there without good rolls or good bred traits.

I never want to do it again.

Y'know how all the classes have minibosses themed after them? Arthur's the Jester equivalent, and until Gaylel Glaiel nerfed his Metronome pool he had access to every class spell in the game, including the aforementioned Split The Atom, We Are One, and Become Entropy. Now he no longer has access to those.
I know that so far they've confirmed we're getting 4 new classes for the first DLC; three of which have supposedly already been guessed. Pink and Lime were mentioned in an AMA as DLC collar colors. Any theories?
IIRC, Glaiel said that modders and their custom classes got 3 out of 4 guesses right, and looking at Nexus we have a Bomber class themed after Radical Rat, a Pyromaniac, a Gunslinger no doubt inspired by Zodiac, a Paladin, and a Revenant.

A Gunslinger class is definitely in the cards (Zodiac was always popular even during playtesting).

as someone mentioned in the thread, the difficulty curve in this game is retarded, it has a decent wall & floor where you feel like you eating shit left and right, trying to play super optimal and getting fucked over by lack of knowledge - then the considerable spike during desert rewarding good & consistent play (with clerics being a buffer / scrub friendly) - but once you unlock monk and breed & get fist of fate, then the game becomes almost braindead
fist of fate is unbelievably broken, there are other skills & combos that are just as broken but they do require a bit of setup
  • hone/repair - get a uzi or a sniper rifle
  • vurp - spam invincibility star (BROKEN), mana, +5 str/dex pill OR +5 luckpill
  • spin to win with arrow of infinity, even stronger with fist of fate and some kind of weapon refresh from items/passives
  • mind meld (free turn)
  • chosen warrior
  • power up (have to unlock jester & find it)
  • heavy shot with some way to negate missing attacks (high luck or passive/item)
and some mutations are clearly a step above the rest: anything with bruise, luck, reroll or extra turn is just busted

also chris chan has now played the game
