That isn't even really something you have to sacrifice anymore. Shit with anti-cheat (VAC and others), some bleeding edge stuff, some of the trickier DRM is probably what is holding back the remaining > 15 % of games that don't work through Proton.

Other than waiting on 10-15 games to work better, the biggest thing that doesn't work for my setup is Logitech's Gaming Software, which I have had to use a VM to access. Doesn't work in WINE at all, only way to really do the settings on Logitech's newer mice.

The sounds can be frightening if the previous user of the computer is near deaf and has all their devices at 100% volume. Even the calm sounds would be frightening in that situation, though. Never forget to check the volume when using someone else's computer. Especially if that person borders on needing hearing aides.

Don't have your head under a table while turning their computer on, either. At normal and lower volumes, only the human version of a kicked dog should be frightened by these sounds.

DO NOT UPGRADE IF NOT BEING ABLE TO USE SEPERATE TEXT ENTRIES FOR EACH WINDOW IN THE TASKBAR IS A DEALBREAKER.

The dealbreaker for me is the fact from what I've heard, either you can't make local offline accounts or you can only do it on the pro version.

The official statement is that it's opt in only but you know after a year they're going to be real assholes about it.

They honestly can't force the upgrade though because the vast majority of computers out there can't even run it.

Opt in, and now they are being dicks about how they removed the limitation for installation on old pcs but they will refuse to give you security updates , they really want to force you to buy new hardware

This is the first time where Microsoft has made everyone hate the product before even release in a week they went to

  1. Ok maybeeeeee you can install it on old PCs
  2. But we are going to annoy you to dead
  3. ok the block is now only for upgrades but you dont get OS updates
  4. Well maybe you are going to get updates
  5. We specified what can be used and can we not (noticed that all the specifications of the CPUs they are shilling dont match) ok maybe there is some discrepancies but is all in the name of security <----you are here
