Cernovitch breaks into tears as his Instagram AMA basically reminded him of his dwindling relevance and wonders what happened to him.

These days many people are asking, “What the hell happened to Mike Cernovich?” Sadly, Cernovich, himself, is one of those people wondering why his life and career have seemingly bottomed out. He still posts about pedophilia on an almost daily basis, but just isn’t getting the traffic and media hype he used to.

Seeking solace for his failures and “a feeling of relevancy,” according to nine people who used to be fans of Cernovich, he turned to Instagram for an AMA yesterday. Unfortunately, hardly anyone showed up and those that did primarily asked about Cernovich’s missteps, “Did you or did you not allegedly make a sex tape with Laura Loomer,” one Instagrammer questioned.

Another in the AMA brought up marital issues with Cernovich and his wife Shauna to which Shauna replied, “Michael is on his phone 24-7. I don’t mind as much when it’s just us, but when we are out with friends and family I find it rude.”

Cernovich’s current failures extend far past a botched Instagram AMA though. He has missed deadlines for his documentary, “Hoaxed” badly, which he raised $163,000 for.

“We wanted to release Hoaxed in May. That’s not going to happen as we took the film in a different direction,” Cernovich claims. “There isn’t a script. You have an idea of what the film will be, and then you go into production.”

It seems what’s left of Cernovich’s following will most likely be gone in the coming months, according to those familiar with the situation. “I invested $500 into Mike’s movie production and am very disappointed with the results,” said a man who chose to hide his identity out of fear that Cernovich would dox him for being critical. “No transparency and now he is missing deadlines. Totally unacceptable. Some are even saying he used the money for a vacation. I’ll be moving forward legally to recoup my investment if need be. I would have gotten more out of flushing my money down the shitter.”

That’s not going to happen as we took the film in a different direction. In hindsight, Hoaxed should have been a six-part series.

The beauty and frustration (oh, mindset, we mean challenge!) of making documentary films is that you don’t know where the project will head. There isn’t a script. You have an idea of what the film will be, and then you go into production. Films make you as much as you make them.

We are releasing Hoaxed as a film because films have cachet. Although I write about the dangers of buying into social status, you must also know the rules of the social status game. Film is more powerful than mini-series.

We’ll be having a private screening for Hoaxed in June, and are planning a public release for July.

Assuming he can actually meet those deadlines, a delay of a month or even two is a nothingburger when it comes to crowdfunding. I can think of several kickstarter projects that are all years overdue. 'Course there is that "Assuming" part. We shall see.

Look at me. I'm defending Cernovich. :\ He's a legit cow, of that I have no doubt. But so are most of his critics. Don't forget that before quoting them.

Some documentary maker kickstarted a film about me, it is years overdue and now being released as Troll Inc. Making documentary films is indeed quite challenging and you don't know how long it is going to take and how many edits you are going to make. This isn't really a valid criticism against Cerno, who is indeed a lolcow, it's like going insane over the plot minutiae of Sonichu comics or something, not really relevant to the discussion of what makes Chris a lolcow. It's a-logging from liberals essentailly.

I think Therno is a literal joke of a human being, but if we're going to shit on him about being late with his documentary, where are the articles criticizing Zoe Quinn for being like at least 18 months late with her Chuck Tingle thing? I mean, let's be fair here, right?

I think the far more damning thing was his wife saying he literally cannot get off of his phone, like ever. That's utterly pathetic.

The phone part reminds me of Arthur Chu, who spends a lot of the documentary about him using his smartphone. Sad!

He's a licensed lawyer but earlier in the thread it was learned that 1) it took him significantly longer to pass the bar exam than normal (I think he retook it like 7 times) 2) He has never actually been in court and basically lives off of his ex-Wife's alimony money.

So James Gunn, some director that works for Disney, is no longer working for Disney. To tl;dr it all: old tweets of his were dugged up, he apparently made some edgy jokes and something about 100 girls. Cernovich dug it up or at least tried to push it out. Currently, Cernovich makes some take about media defending James Gunn by saying "old tweets are off limits". The funny part with old tweets, is that Cernovich can also be guilty of old tweets considering comments he made about date rape.
