I always liked Herobrine as a concept. A thing that wanders around and stalks you within the confines of your Minecraft save always seemed to give me a sort of chill down my younger self's spine. Even now, it's still a sort of interesting urban legend from yesteryear.
Same, never thought he was real but I always was paranoid of
something. I almost exclusively played in third person and never used red stone torches. I've long since stopped doing that but as a youngin' it was unnerving. I still don't play with ambience noises, mostly out of annoyance.
