Depends. I remember first playing Beta on the old family computer that was a hopscotch of legacy parts and it had slight performance challenges but otherwise it was playable, and I modded the living shit out of it. Then I would encounter major performance issues when playing modded 1.12.2 on a world with a shitton of tech machinery running. I would then glance at my CPU usage and realize I was getting major bottlenecking from the old Haswell, 100% use on all cores during the major stutters. After upgrading the CPU to an Alder Lake those worlds ran buttery smooth. And obviously trying to run heavy shaders on a weak GPU will give you performance issues, and some people are major sluts for that despite not having the hardware for it, expecting miracles to happen.
The game got some very good optimization the past few years, both official and unofficial. I remember that mac users had the short end of the stick, with their retina displays. Minecraft had issues rendering graphics at an adequate speed over this resolution. They fixed it by rendering 2x2 pixels. 1/4 the resolution, barely any fidelity loss, 4x the performance

Yeah, nothing good is going to come from it even with the EU recently remembering that video games exist. Kinda vindicated by nothing happening after Ubi pulling The Crew and Stop Killing Games also unsurprisingly failing to do anything. So far you own nothing and you will cry about it.

I mostly seen people post their sorting and quantum fuckery machines, with the occasional Thaumcraft setup. Though there's been some variety from time to time. There really is no non-pozzed place to talk about MC outside of 4chan and here...and with recent "revelations" (I mean I doubt most people didn't know there were literal tranny mods, even then there was evidence of other shit) 4chan can hardly be considered non-pozzed anymore.

I think he posted his bank statement or something and I saw that he spent whale levels of money on some other shit to the point where he was broke several times, and probably still is even when making this lawsuit. I think he spent thousands of dollars on some checkmark for Twitter (looking it up, seems this "golden checkmark" is used for companies but anyone can also use it, but it costs $1000 a month, he had it for several months). In fact getting all this attention is probably why he made the video on his lawsuit in the first place, so he can use the gofundme for his crippling spending addiction. Reading his document, he also makes a bunch of unnecessary statements that don't add anything to the case at best or actively hurts his case at worst, such as his poor living conditions and shitting on America...for some reason.
The tranny thing is (slightly) less offensive to me. The real horror show is the fucking ADHD editing, especially when they place blocks.
