That's the stable channel which releases annually, get the polymc-git version if you want the latest dev changes as they come. The maintainer has also already updated the stable on the AUR for the 7.1 release last week. Like the top comment says thoughever, the build fails on the default Java 26, so you have to install jdk11-openjdk and archlinux-java set java-11-openjdk before building. Small hassle but worth it to not use troonware.
The troons on PolyMC's team got upset that the developer of PolyMC wanted to purge trannies from the development team of PolyMC so they deliberately lied about the launcher having had malware put in it and made a fork of it. The only people to openly question and audit the troons' narative was 4chan's /g/ board who found that no malicious functions were added and that a single code of conduct file was deleted. Fuck troons and their lies, I installed Prism Launcher as well (didn't care about offline mode so it didn't feel like features were missing) because Prism troons conned their way into being officially packaged by Arch maintainers, so that means it's the most official Minecraft launcher for Leenucks amirite?
I've been having fun turning the plains into a bamboo jungle, and playing around with building and landscaping. I really like how my flower sculptures are coming along, I'll make it a nice park in that area.
Just a house on the river. And in the back I put a hidden bar and jungle boxing ring. The dock is behind those.
And this is the animal haven, we have frogs and axolotls and parrots and allays in what I first wanted to be another house. Then I thought it would be cool to have it overgrown with a bunch of critters in it, I really like how it turned out.

I was searching about for some info on the PolyMC stuff that happened a few years back. All I could find before was that Lenny was some nophono literal who whom barely contributed (was like 14th in contributions apparently, probably was about quantity of contributions so it doesn't mean anything anyway) and then (somehow) "hijacked" the freaking project from all the wholesome 100 troonjaks (after they put "tr(-ACK)ans rights" into a Code of Conduct page.) While I was looking up Polymc today I found a github request to add it to whatever NixOS is. About half way through the page I find a link to this. THERE WAS NO HIJACKING OF THE PROJECT BECAUSE HE WAS THE OWNER OF IT. THEY MADE IT LOOK LIKE HE STOLE IT AND SPREAD LIES ABOUT IT HAVING VIRUSES AFTER HE KICKED THEM OUT FOR ADDING TRANNY BULLSHIT. I didn't trust PolyMC too much before because of those lies. I didn't even USE Prism because it's ran by troons who are shit at coding, and would 110% do some sketchy shit to own the freaking troonsphobes. But now I'm completely confident in PolyMC and won't worry anymore about having it do some shit to my computer. Just to note I did read posts talking about it on this thread but I don't remember seeing something like this show up. Also with that being said, any info on why the other guy "Swirl" decided to step down because of "recent controvesies"?
I'm mostly posting this so other's don't get cold feet about using PolyMC like I did. All the posts I've seen about PolyMC in this thread so far didn't include that Lenny was the leader/head of the project when it all went down.

oh you drama kween i listed that as a future modlist, them mods still exist and my pc is beefy enough to be able to run a good chunk of them since old versions java is, well, memory hungry once you get past a certain amount of mods.

I'm not sure what this has to do with my post of you punching me with nostalgia of better days but it's unsurprising that modern hardware can run most of those mods pretty well. Hell decade old hardware could probably run a good amount of them with no issue.

Datapacks are just two steps (download, drop into DP folder which MC lets you open when creating a world) and even that's too much.

That's somewhat common outside of java too, find classic that was ported to a game store other than GoG with no modifications while running windows 10+? Good luck getting it to run without jumping through hoops. I think Ubisoft has a particular problem with that.
