Minecraft

It's September 20th and that means yesterday was the day when old Mojang accounts lost ability to migrate to Microsoft accounts, meaning that people who refused to bend over for Microsoft got the game they paid for taken away from them.

I, for one, am looking forward to torrenting a copy of Minecraft to play with a friend or two, just like it's 2010 all over again. Thanks Microsoft.

I'm still not exactly certain how there can be a cutoff date and how this isn't a class action lawsuit from someone somewhere.

Most people are simply too apathetic to try and sue. I've tried to tell people about how bullshit losing my account is, and the response I usually get is "dude just make a microsoft account". Microsoft could shit in their mouths and they'd go along with it

Small update. Seems you can still "migrate" to Microsoft account, however your old account is pretty much gone, since you aren't going to get back your old username, skins, capes, whatever - basically you're just getting a new account instead of your old one. This is available until December 18, 2023.

This is exactly what they're relying on, I feel. Nobody's going to go out of their way to go to court over a 10 dollar 30 dollar video game. And if they did, what can one person do against a corporation with teams of lawyers at their disposal. Sure, it could actually work out if there was a big enough outcry about it, but niggercattle don't care (it's just a different account bro) and many have terminal case of brand loyalty through familiarity, so it's never going to happen.

I bought the game from Notch, not from Microsoft, so I don't feel bad about pirating the game at this point - I already paid for it so it's mine to keep, end of story.

meanwhile mojang cant get the base game to perform well on common hardware

the modpack devs have pure autism.
If you ever dare criticize Mojang for being incompetent or having less effort/quality than modders, people will come out of the woodwork to defend them every possible way and make up excuses as to why, ackshually, there's very good reasons why none of the Sodium improvements are in vanilla.

Or you know...why there are, HUM, ackshualy v-very good reasons why MC updates contain less content than mods for two to three times the time spent working on them (Ahem, mob vote additions, Ahem).

I don't even know much about what was added past 1.13, where the only good additions were the new movement system which modders backported to 1.12.2 which is the newest version I'm willing to play.

New cave gen in 1.18 (which was backported as far as 1.7.10).
Yung stopped updating his cave overhaul mod after 1.18, just another reason to not play it.
Also pre-Beta 1.8 cave gen is the best.
Yes. Beta 1.8 changed caves to make them go on forever, where as before they were fully random and finding a large cave was an actual rarity, I also feel like ores were less common as well but I'm not sure. Ravines are cool though, but someone ported them back into beta 1.7.

I miss the somewhat-frequent world corruption where random chunks would entirely be ripped out.

The mob votes are the most retarded thing ever. First, the ideas are shite and blatant retextures of existing mobs instead of something new. Then the trailers always show them in game, so they already have each of them coded up, but then it always takes several weeks after the start of a snapshot cycle before they end up in snapshots. You telling me they really don't have time to add all three of them in when they've already coded them?

Don't even get me started on the actual votes themselves, how short they are and how easily they can be gamed by pedophile Youtubers telling their niggercattle fanbase to vote for a specific one.

The mob vote has begun once again, make sure to vote for whichever useless creature you want in the game next!
I enjoy the giant ship they show off in the trailer that will never be added to the game and we will forever be stuck with shitty rowboats.

Mojang is honest to god the only game devs you can call lazy with 100% confidence, so much potential for updates and they always do the bare minimum.

Someone leaked the other two mobs already.
They are a seagull and a jellyfish.
I have no idea why Mojang thought that these mobs will generate any hype. They all sound lame.
(Also I'm certain that Mo' Creatures had them since Beta)

Honestly it's amazing how much current majority of Minecraft's audience is so braindead they buy into this schtick. Mojang announces a mob vote, all the mobs in it are some basic bitch mob they could make in a week, they're all ready to be added all at once in an update, but they'll make people choose one of them for no reason whatsoever.

And this will build some weird illusion that Mojang is a poor indie studio that can't add more than that, even though that they belong to one of the biggest corporations in the world so they have no excuse of not having enough resources, and fans of the game added way more content to the game on their free time, either working alone or in a small group, than Mojang has ever did under Microsoft's tenure.

Hell, I'd say IndustrialCraft, the old Beta one, had more content in it than whatever Mojang did past the few years. Not to mention the Aether mod, which back then was the most impressive shit ever, and it's still more impressive than nu-Mojang's updates. How come fan-made content back then was more impressive than what current day Mojang, with all of Microsoft's assets, can do?

The worst part is that this won't change. Current Minecraft audience are the most docile fucking nigger cattle that will clap and cheer whenever Mojang pulls out another mob vote, and will do everything to defend the honor of this company that would willingly sell them to the glue factory if it were legal and would bring them in a profit. It will only get worse and worse.

At this point Mojang could start copying ideas from all the mods, make massive updates based on that and it wouldn't matter either way, those who bitch and moan about Mojang would still bitch and moan, and the nigger cattle would be super happy. But they won't, because they've became insanely lazy and won't bother putting in more effort than they need to to keep the nigger cattle in the loop.

Honestly, I fucking regret that I ever gave money to these schmucks.

Mojang dick suckers continue to impress me with how much mental gymnastics they perform to defend the company's retarded decisions. You can easily find memes calling the people criticizing Mojang toxic, saying things like "Mojang employees have a life and can't spend all day coding" and I've seen a "Mojang hater" starter pack that includes dream stans. The people shitting on Mojang aren't dream fans who don't play the game, it's actual fans that are tired of Mojang showcasing features they've practically almost finished only for them to add a quarter of what they promised.

A common thing I see is people pushing the blame onto Microsoft, while Microsoft is probably responsible for things like the eula changes it's, Mojang who's doing shit like not adding fireflies because putting the poor bugs in jars is heckin cruel.

This is a common theme with corporate bootlickers, they've been gaslighted to believe that they have to serve the corporations, and not that the corporations are supposed to serve them, because without them the corporations wouldn't have a business, so it is in their right to demand a proper product from the corporation.

But we're long past the point where this would've been the mentality of the majority, so it's the corporations that decide what product we should get, and it's in their best interest to make a garbage product, since all that matters is people buying it. And if people have zero standards, the product can have zero quality.

Also, the whole "it's not Mojang, it's Microsoft" argument is idiotic, because Microsoft isn't a holding company, it has direct control over it's subsidiaries. So in reality, Mojang is Microsoft. It's synonymous by this point if we're gonna go and point the finger on who's to blame. It's a singular entity that's at fault at ruining this product.
