I heard that a new version of Thaumcraft is being made for the more recent versions of Minecraft.

Although, that will likely mean that whenever this new ThaumCraft does get released it won't the same as the last.
I thought the Thaumcraft guy fucked off from Minecraft to make it into its own game. I didn’t like it much when I first played with it, but it definitely grew on me, I had a lot of fun making an automated essence furnace/sorter using the extremely opaque piping system.

With regards to magic mods tho my favorite will always be Witchery. It’s the only magic mod that’s felt truly like “magic” to me, rather than a tech mod skinned with a magic theme. It’s far from the most useful mod but its theming is on-point.

I think someone else is taking on the mantle to develop this new version. I wouldn't know for sure though.

Yeah, the word is that Team CoFH are the ones working on this version of Thaumcraft now. They're the guys already behind the Thermal series of mods.

From what I can tell, teamcuckfh isn't really working on thaumcraft. Also, TC6 is a travesty. I would like to backport rifts tho, this shit looks fun :cunningpepe:

Version chasing can die in a ditch. Twilight Forest has been in an unfinished state for like a decade because of it and Immersive Engineering still doesn't have a reactor.
On topic of magic mods, my favourite is abyssalcraft. Pretty fun, cool terrain, decently challenging. And had a good laugh at getting killed by gatekeeper while in creative. Unfortunately for him, being an elder one does not save you from a German 88mm.
Also modded 1.12 kiwiserb when?

It seems Mojang has also made a brave stance against NFTs (Archive):

Their reason:
This is the most obvious distraction that I've ever seen. They're trying to distract people so they can escape backlash against the reporting system that they're implementing.

Moo moo, look fellow nigger cattle we also hate that thing you hate. Please give us praise, moo moo. It somehow fucking works every god damn time. They eventually get distracted and forget about the absolute dog shit reporting system that nobody wanted because they are low attention span, low IQ nigger cattle.

People should continue to rail them. At least some aren't taken in by the obvious distraction.
My prediction is that there's gonna be some 'compromised deal' between Mojang and the 'Minecraft Community' (Although expect it to be a limited scope of approved ecelebs and others). They're gonna use reasons as "Hawassment, Hatespeech, *phobia or misinformation" as some sort of justification to limit in someway but people will still accept it.

I think version chasing is doing more damage to the modding community than having three APIs. I like a lot of features and mods from the later versions but quite a few of the really good mods have yet to update to 1.16. While the community will still be split between forge and fabric it could probably have a little more life breathed into it if they focused more on updating their mods in a way that doesn't focus solely on getting to the latest version. The community has been fragmented but the mods are getting better. Create is the most satisfying tech mod I've played, Terralith has put Caves and Cliffs to shame, and Alex's Mobs adds mobs that have uses and interactions with the world, unlike Mojang who's scared of adding fireflies because they might hurt heckin cute frogos. The problem is that mods have been focused on getting to the latest versions rather than adding more features to bring people to their latest update.

I like Alex's mobs, but some of the mobs' uses become pretty redundant. Like bears and raccoons being a worst or better wolf (I know bears can also be a mount, but they are too slow for it to be worth imo).

I didn't want to respond twice, but I'd like to add that immersive engineering is lackluster on its own in its current state. I still don't know why immersive petroleum is still a separate add-on, you'd think biodiesel would be an alternative instead of the primary method. Also, Immersive intelligence is pretty cool but it's still in 1.12.2, its owner is still somewhat active though so hopefully he's working on a big update.

By itself it's pretty lackluster, but with Petroleum, Tech and Intelligence it has decent amount of content. First two are finished afaik, Intelligence is showing a lot of progress with another submod in the works. Data system looks pretty impressive, although didn't really play with it, vehicles are being fine tuned, new guns are added, etc. Good on them for not jumping to meme version, only thing they offer is new swiming mechanics and Create. IE promized us nuclear reactors and power armor four years ago. But you can play IE on 1.15 for some godforsaken reason, so there is that.

Minecraft 1.19.1 is finally out.

And now I patiently wait for the minecraft apocalypse to befall us all or however the doomers phrased it.

Also, Antvenom posted this tweet:

I dunno about you guys, but I don't think confirming people's fears about this new system by deliberately exploiting it is the smartest idea for the anti-chat mod bros.

Java is basically the advertisement for bedrock, from Mojang perspective. Most people host their own servers and skins are free.
If minecraft community wants to fight mojang there are two ways: get e celebs banned and openly advertise piracy. If suddenly dream gets banned Mojang might go and relent, and if the first thing you see on minecraft subreddit is link to tlauncher, multimc and polymc less people will buy it. Unfortunately, they think spamming so hashtags is taking actions, so I guess new system ishere to stay.

There are two problems with that plan:

1. The first part assumes Mojang cares about E-celebs like Dream enough to have his ban bother them. Not to mention we already have people like AntVenom voicing their displeasure about the system anyway.

2. The second part assumes the average person wouldn't be put off by piracy for two reasons: Convenience and Legality.
