I can't even say that they could recover it like what happened with sonic, theres too much CGI to fix it.
If I was making it I wouldn't even go the live action route, just do the same thing that Captain Sparkles and TryHardNinja did with the fallen kingdom series :stress:

An old Minecraft movie that I remember watching back when it was brand new, good old times for Minecraft.

This must be what Star Wars fans feel like in regards the the Prequels

I apologise Minecraft story mode, I thought it couldn't get worse but I was wrong.

The costume design in a lot of movies and series have been shit for a few years now

I don't really watch a lot of the latest movies or series, but the earliest example of when costumes started to look like shit that I can think of is the later seasons of Game of Thrones.

It's amazing how quickly any good will towards gaming movies has been undone within the span of two films. The Sonic films shown that adaptations can work, but Borderlands and now Minecraft are set to craft sideways into this mountain-sized turd.

The only way I can describe the trailer is that it looks like the fake trailers you see within movies for when the characters are about to watch a movie.
Also, the fact that this looks like a fucking Isekai which, for the record, NeverEnding Story was released in (literally) 1984, you fucking weebs.

I don't know about Borderlands, but the Minecraft Movie has been in development hell since around 2015 I believe, its very possible the script pre-dates the Sonic movie.

It wouldn't surprise me, everything about this movie feels like it was made 7-10 years ago and forgotten about, the writing especially.

"Mojang is a small indie companies running off croutons, pls understand. They're so overworked from one line of code we have to give them 2 week vacations! We can't have anyone trying to make anything too good because it'll make us all look bad it's just so much work!" Minecraft snapshots being buggy messes that somehow create the most simplest bugs to fix but don't is tradition at this point.

I think the thing that really gets me about the trailer is that none of the characters want to fucking be there. They have an attitude of "uh, I have to go on an adventure? Ugh, this is so lame. Ugh, I don't wanna do this." If the 'heroes' aren't excited, than why the fuck should anyone watching the movie be?

Also, seeing people run with the usual "well, kids will enjoy it" as if kids don't enjoy drinking whatever they find under the kitchen sink. I've said this over a dozen times: something doesn't get a free pass because "it's for kids".
