I mean, you're not wrong, it is very detached from Minecraft. I'll take it over whatever the movie is going to end up being. That looks like generic medieval fantasy slop IMO
Really? Maybe they don't have a close enough server near you, everything pretty much loads instantly (then again my Wifi is pretty good albeit unstable) so it might be that.It takes ages to load
Adblock nigger, that's like the first rule of dealing with the modern internet.shoves ads down my throat
You mean the Minecraft Launcher or the Curseforge (Overwolf) Launcher. The former is ass and the latter is both double ass and borderline spyware and strangely system chugging IIRC.doesn't even bypass the default launcher
>PrismI had the misfortune of being made to use Prism, a piece of shit that can't download random mods without crashing or simply not adding them without explanation. I have attempted to use Technic and been found severely wanting.
The Launcher itself has none of this and I haven't been to the website since I first downloaded it about a year or two ago. I turned off my adblocker just to see what you were on about but do you mean just this?ATLauncher seems to have an explicit sponsorship with a specific hosting service that's obnoxious enough to be plastered front and center on the home page of their website
Doesn't need to be, if something ain't broke or even struggling to function what is there to do? Here's a document I found if you want to try it (though I'd also just use the original PolyMC unless you don't want to deal with accounts).PollyMC hasn't been updated in the last year.
Yeah like I said, every original dev left and now it's a one man show since the original devs tried to fuck it up because politics. It's still being worked on but the cancer's removal came at a cost of crippling development. Again, works just fine but don't expect updates anytime soon, not that it's a huge deal since it still works fine.PolyMC seems to be the only real alternative left, so I'm considering that, but I know this awful modding community and I've heard there's been a "brain drain" in the dev team due to drama, so is it even worth following anymore or is it just getting worse with each successive update?
Ye.Am I just being preemptive when I shouldn't be?
Ye.Is ATL perfectly fine
Drama is unfortunately everywhere and there will always be it, but it only really exists in people's head so unless a developer is some super pedophile groomer serial killer or letting said drama get to them and destroy their work, it doesn't matter. The previous faggotry mention in this thread hasn't stopped certain people's mod from not being used for example.Has the drama not affected all this dumbshittery nearly as much as I seem to think it has?
Just don't use their launcher, and you can probably find most if not all that you're looking for regarding mods on Modrinth if Curseforge is being gay. And if the community gets uppity for the nth time, ignore it because:Am I overthinking things and better off just dealing with Curseforge's BS while the community sorts itself out?
And now I hope you think otherwise, Overwolf was so garbage that Curseforge had to remove it because no one liked it and it causes all sorts of issues, and not even it's removal saved that launcher. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask here and I hope I didn't write too much. It's incredibly easy to get into modded Minecraft now and I'll probably summerize this big ass post into a smaller one another time.It sure does seem to be the only stable source of mods that has a dedicated launcher at this point.
My Adblock doesn't work on separate apps, unfortunatelyAdblock nigger, that's like the first rule of dealing with the modern internet.
The latter launches into the former instead of launching straight into the game like a normal launcher would. It's very annoying and makes the already-obscene load times even longer. You mean the Minecraft Launcher or the Curseforge (Overwolf) Launcher.
Can confirm, the stupid thing eats more than Google Chrome did when I used that years and years ago. Always seems to have another update ready, too, which never changes anything. Absolute embodiment of modern-app awfulness. The former is ass and the latter is both double ass and borderline spyware and strangely system chugging IIRC.
Yep, saw those while searching for an alternative. Made me dirty for using it for even a minute, especially after seeing how blatant a rip-off it is of what it forked.>Prism
Faggot fork of a based launcher (which itself is a fork of MultiMC). You can find the shenanigans in the thread...maybe,
lol, conveniently when I last played modded Minecraft/even base Minecraft. Makes sense, I'll keep away from it I suppose. Poor thing, I've got a lot of memories with it but it has not aged well.Technic is...ancient, it was mostly used during the heyday of modded Minecraft along with the FTB Launcher like a decade ago
I'll take your word for itThe Launcher itself has none of this and I haven't been to the website since I first downloaded it about a year or two ago.
Yeah. It's a lot larger on my end for whatever reason and my adblock isn't catching it. Good to know it's just my PC being shit.I turned off my adblocker just to see what you were on about but do you mean just this?
Add support for newer Minecraft versions, I assumed. Bit of a boneheaded move on my end to not assume there was something built-in to handle that but, to be fair, it was like 1am.Doesn't need to be, if something ain't broke or even struggling to function what is there to do?
Informative, thanks!Yeah like I said, every original dev left and now it's a one man show since the original devs tried to fuck it up because politics. lol, figured. My bad, seems to be a habit of mine.Ye.Am I just being preemptive when I shouldn't be?

It's fine, and thank you lots. No text is ever too much for meIf you have any other questions, please feel free to ask here and I hope I didn't write too much.
Oh God, I completely forgot about NeoForge, good to know. I don't give a shit about NeoForge currently but it does have a promising future, AtLauncher has support for it, you can download it along with Fabric, Forge, "Legacy Fabric" (the fuck is even that?), hell even Quilt, all directly from the launcher. There's also a cracked version it looks like, if you don't want to login. Do be careful, I can only really recommend the official launcher as I never used this crack before.4 hours of trying to fix a mod pack in Poly only to learn it doesn't support NeoForge as a mod loader so I can't use my modpack without redoing everything. Stellar.
Post your latest.log, and crash report on pastebin or something and link it here. I may have run into this a few times before. Also what version of MC? Making a modpack is a pain but there's always a way to fix shit, the most recommended thing I can think of is to remove half your mod list, keeping doing this until it loads, add them back one at a time or in small batches until it fucks up again, then slowly remove mods until it stops working and you single out the problem mod. Even then it could just be an incompatibility with another mod but that's a whole different issue.Doesn't matter much since trying to launch it in Curseforge barely works either, just keeps throwing some fucking "Resource Reload Failed" error that the internet seems to think has 10 different causes (none of which actually relate to any possible causes on my end because 90% of the answers relate to shaders or Optifine, which I don't have).
Ugh, yeah, I wish I didn't have to use it, but all the Forge mods I liked are moving over there instead of porting their shit to Fabric like normal people so I'm kind of stuck with it. I went through my old mod pack to see which of the mods I liked were on Fabric vs NeoForge and it was wild, something like a 1:5 ratio. For every one mod I liked on Fabric, Neo/Forge had like 10. Ridiculously stupid that they're even separate.Oh God, I completely forgot about NeoForge, good to know. I don't give a shit about NeoForge currently but it does have a promising future
Yeah, I've been considering that. Seems to be nearly as bad as Curseforge with loading up, though, and I hate that it boots straight to modpacks and your custom instances are more than halfway down the huge sidebar tumor.AtLauncher has support for it, you can download it along with Fabric, Forge, "Legacy Fabric" (the fuck is even that?), hell even Quilt, all directly from the launcher
Funnily enough, it's too big for pastebin. The thing is fucking obscene and I'm actually not sure I can fit it onto any external website intact. Here's as much of the last parts of it as I can fit in a pastebin instead (since that's where the errors tend to crop up).Post your latest.log, and crash report on pastebin or something and link it here.
1.21.1Also what version of MC?
That's what I've been thinking of. Only came up with the idea when I didn't have the time to do it, unfortunately. That'll be a huge pain given the comically enormous size of this modpack, but I probably have enough free time to do it. Dunno.remove half your mod list, keeping doing this until it loads, add them back one at a time or in small batches until it fucks up again, then slowly remove mods until it stops working and you single out the problem mod.
Yeah, and it would give me a message on start-up. I actually got this when I first booted the pack up and have since cleared the problem ez-pz, that shit's pretty familiar to me given my schizophrenic approach to making packs. "Resource Reload Failed" is new though, especially since it doesn't give a crash report or any symbol of its appearance save for a brief pop-up in the top right of your screen and the total inability to use resource packs.it could just be an incompatibility with another mod but that's a whole different issue.
I've never had this issue, then again I never touched 1.21 or NeoForge so it might be an issue with one of those? Also Privatebin might be able to handle the entire log, just make sure to set it for more than a day as it auto deletes. I also just heard of an alternative called mclo.gs that'll probably be good too, even color codes warning and errors. You can also just post the log file on some anonfiles alternative (Rip Anonfiles, gofile.io is probably the next best thing).Funnily enough, it's too big for pastebin. The thing is fucking obscene and I'm actually not sure I can fit it onto any external website intact. Here's as much of the last parts of it as I can fit in a pastebin instead (since that's where the errors tend to crop up).
(There's no crash report, though. It doesn't crash the game, just make the resource packs functionally useless. Shit ton more "missing model/texture" mentions though, for reasons I cannot fathom.)
Which mod?one of my mods was referencing an object class that didn't exist?
Same error? And it provides absolutely no crash-log in the Crash-Reports folder (assuming that's the universal name for the crash log folder)? Again the only thing I can recommend is that you remove each mod and add them one by one, launching the game each time you add a mod and its requirement (if it has one), and do the same with the resource packs and data packs but this might strictly be a mod issue. Also which launcher are you using again? Did you switch to AtLauncher or PolyMC?spoke too soon
Oh hey look at that, another convenient reason not to use automation mods.Total Create Death.
I appreciate the attempts at help, but the issue just solved itself somehow. I don't know how. I'm too tired to ask how. 10 hours of troubleshooting and I'm just happy I get to play my game.[mod help talk]
