Did you buy Minecraft before 2023, and had to migrate to a Microsoft account?
Did you ever get shit from Mojang because of a mod, server, or other content you made that "did not fit the EULA"?

Good news, since Mojang, and by extension, Microsoft both:
- Never notified anyone about EULA changes
- Enforced terms on the public only specified in contracts under NDA

They're getting class action'd by a fat swede, and you can join in too!
Since Swedish law works a bit differently, class actions are explicitly opt-in.
However, since this applies to 90% of minecraft players, you probably can sign up if you bought the game on anything but the microsoft store.

Mojang broke the law, and after a lot of preparation and a successful crowdfunding campaign, we are now ready to proceed with the Minecraft Class Action Lawsuit.
It's time to fight for our rights as consumers and ensure that Mojang can't restrict the way we are able to enjoy & play the game in a way that breaches our rights.
!!! Class Action Lawsuit Participation Form !!!
Google Form (US based form provider, data stored in the US with questionable protections / privacy): https://kianbrose.com/form
Formbricks (EU based form provider, data is stored in EU jurisdiction with adequate protections): https://kianbrose.com/form-secure

Both forms are identical in content, the only thing that differs is the provider and thus in which jurisdiction the data is stored, where the EU provides significantly better protections than the US

.!!! Mooooore !!!
One of the questions that may arise is why we haven’t filed the lawsuit yet.
In simple terms, class action lawsuits in Sweden function on an opt-in basis, which means that we cannot “automatically include” people without their explicit consent;
where one of the objectives of this video is to collect the list of players that want to participate in order to proceed.
Secondly, whereas most lawsuits tend to be rather simple in terms of what damage has occurred, given that Mojang has been breaking several laws for over a decade, there are lots of different damages that we could pursue where we will have to determine which one has the best supporting evidence and will lead to the desired outcome.
This will be determined by segmenting the participation form submissions into groups (damage types) where our lawyer will decide which group moves forward.
Another question that may arise is why it took 6 months to get to this point, which is mainly a combination of two factors:
  • For one, the GoFundMe donations were not accessible for over a month, where I did not feel comfortable having talks with lawyers / law firms until I knew that we were in a position to start paying them for their work. Essentially, there were concerns about the funds possibly being subject to taxes (which in Sweden would’ve basically vaporized 50%) due to the possibility of the donations not qualifying as donations. Since I absolutely did not want to risk half of the funds getting vaporized due to taxes, I refused to withdraw them from GoFundMe until I’ve had sufficient talks with accountants to ensure that they would not get taxed and would be fully available for the legal process.
  • After the taxation concerns were resolved and the funds were available for use, it took a long time to contact and talk with every single lawyer / law firm in Sweden that specialized in fields of law that were relevant to this case (consumer protection laws, contract law, data protection etc) to get a good view of what our options are where I could then pick what felt like the best option for representation. This was very difficult not only because I had to get responses from everyone, hold meetings etc, but also because I had the stress and responsibility of picking “who” the funds would be entrusted to, in other words who would represent us the best. And even though I’ve never had to do anything like this, after all the emails, calls and meetings I felt like Björn Persson and Conny Larsson from Singularity Law AB would represent us the best based on their expertise in the field, interest in the case and how we communicated throughout the meetings; and while there may be some concerns about the choice of not going for a gigantic law firm for example, I stand by my choice knowing that I personally risk bankruptcy should we lose which is not something I would risk if I didn’t feel comfortable with the choice.

And finally, even though we estimate that we have sufficient funds to reach our desired outcome, we never know how things will turn out in the future which is why the GoFundMe page remains open should you want to contribute to what we’re fighting for: https://www.gofundme.com/f/hold-mojan...
As usual, I am always easily reachable through various platforms; announcements and progress updates are consistently posted through the lawsuit’s GoFundMe and Discord server and if you have any questions or concerns please reach out, I read everything.

I had an account from like 2010 that I used up until right before the migration, I lost all access to it because I didn’t make a microshaft account. Would this still apply to me? I can’t remember any emails explicitly stating I would lose complete access to my Java account unless I signed up for microshaft gaming or whatever the fuck.

The premise of It's Pat is reality in 2025.

Yes, if you have proof of purchase, it should apply easily.

I lost my beta account because of the faggots at Microsoft who deleted every Mojang account that didn't migrate. Fuck them

Has anyone here played the "Ye Olde Times" modpack or with IC2 for 1.2.5 in general? How do I drain the IC2 pump?? Buildcraft tubes don't connect to the pump (non-waterproof ones do though) and cells just sit there and nothing happens to them. I have two water pumps full of water that I might as well discard by this point. An archive of a wiki page for the pump from 2012 has comments saying the cells wont fill, so I assume this particular version of the mod is just buggy?

Shit, it was so long ago there's no way I'd be able to find my receipt.

I've never been part of a class action before, does it require any participation or once you're part of it do you just wait for the outcome?

How does it work for non-Sweds? Can you join a class action if you live in another country?

Bought Minecraft years ago before it became a pedo haven. Never migrated to Microsoft and lost it.

No idea how I'll have a proof of purchase of that...

nope, it's basically you saying you were one of the people shafted by them and support the accuser that started the lawsuit, if receipts are needed and you have them all you need to do is send in order to not prove you are a liar.
they will tell you details about court shit but it's optional.

Give me a rundown of this class action thing, I had a 2010 account that I lost with the migration shit and I have proof of purchase (PayPal records). What could I gain from participating in this class action? Get my account back? The 15 shekels that I paid back then?

I lost my account too because I refused to migrate. Fortunately, I have my proof of purchase in a folder spite with my Adobe Photoshop CS5 perpetual licence.
