Trying to read the thread is making my brain short circuit. I know this point has been beaten to death, but every time I have to go on Reddit my blood pressure rises. All talk about how much they hate capitalism until the multi trillion dollar company that bought their favorite vidya game deletes everyone's accounts for no reason. Then, its the consumer's fault. How silly the consumer must be to have been to buy a game 15 years ago and not anticipate that a globohomo megacorp would buy it and ban people for playing the game how they always have.

What a worthless cabal of midwit shit stains. I hope Microsoft gets sued into restoring everyone's accounts. I lost many good alts in that migration. Fuck me for taking a break from Minecraft, I guess.
 
Lost my original account during migration, still cucked out and got a new one assigned to me during the "last call" thing.

I can't find my receipts as they probably been lost to time and e-mail clean-ups, but I do remember buying it like a week before Minecraft Beta hit and there's one thing I wanted to double check:

The next epoch is upon us! The skies are trembling, pigs are growing wings, and the nether is turning awfully cold, as Minecraft slowly crawls out of Alpha..

Minecraft will reach Beta status on December 20th, 2010.

With Beta comes a larger focus on polish and content, and we’ll start early on with adding proper modding support with a stable API, and we’d love all input we can get on this from the modders out there. We’ll also add some kind of non-intrusive narrative to the game to help drive the game experience early on, and to provide some kind of late game goal. There will be a bigger focus on testing and stability as well, with more time between updates.

When the game enters beta, the price will rise to 14.95 Euro.

We will also change the license to remove the line that promises all future versions of the game for free. Please note that this change only affects people who buy the game after December 20, so if you got the game for during alpha, you will still get all future updates for free, despite this change. A promise is a promise.
Buying the game during beta will include all updates up until release, of course, and bug patches will be free.

Soon, you will be able to buy gift codes for Minecraft, perfectly timed for the holidays! Even better, if you buy those before December 20, accounts created from these codes will count as alpha accounts, and will receive all future updates for free.

And the next game update (with server-side inventory) is coming next week, before Beta

Yup, there it is - "We will also change the license to remove the line that promises all future versions of the game for free". I am not someone who speaks legalese, but I still vividly remember this promise to all who bought Minecraft during Alpha that ALL future version will be provided to them for free. I remember Notch had ambitions for different variants/gamemodes for Minecraft during that time, so I do wonder if he meant future version updates or "versions" as in Minecraft spinoffs, like stuff we have today with Minecraft Realms and whatnot. I think it's some prime lawsuit material if someone was autistic enough to dig through and distill this - all depends on how much legally binding that promise and license was.

Retards love to pretend that their gay little moves like this actually matter. I'm starting to think it's all fake and gay to distract people. What the Vintage Story developers did by breaking away from the Minecraft modding ecosystem was 1000x more effective than any lawsuit.

I think they have decent grounds and hope they win, reading redditors go "BUT YOU HAD LIKE 2 YEARS" make me pissed off.
Like the whole point is they changed the EULA without informing you, and are now threatening you to agree to newer more unfavourable terms under threat of deletion, it does not matter if it was 5 mins or 5 years.


He should of and could of gotten the video out like 2 months ago but spent over 60 days working on this spastic scatter brained edit of his.

Ok, thanks for the heads up retard. Because this mindset has totally worked before. He's getting blasted for it so either he 180s due to people disliking this retarded move (lol no) or he'll retreat to some safe space he can ban/block people for disagreeing with him. He already stopped replying to people who disagree with his decision so it's definitely going to be the latter.

Well I've seen people encrypt and rewrite large parts of their mod just out of pure spite so I quite curious. He'll probably just get pissy and make a rule on his dicksword that makes telling others how to edit his mods is a bannable offense.

he is literally inviting people to crack open his gay mod and make it configurable, he can't even do gaytarded "locks" on it either because i remember people mentioning on 4trannies that both the orespawn nigger and the sex mod guy tried doing something like that only for people to edit their mods and remove the restrictions anyway.

I never migrated my account, instead I simply disconnect from the internet while loading Minecraft. It still lets me play it. I'm stuck on 1.17 or whatever, which is fine by me, I don't want to FUCK my world up with the shitty new world generation anyway.
 
Stupid question, but what exactly are the hardcore mode hearts supposed to represent? The only things I can think of are either angry eyebrows or lightning bolts. Or are they meaningless and just there to remind you "hey, you're playing hardcore"?

I have an account that was made before the Microsoft purchase and I merged it, but I'm hesitant to give my personal information. I'll have to think on it more. Honestly it would be fun to join a giant 'f u' lawsuit against Microsoft. But who knows if it'll go anywhere.

Only key notes I see is they're all for Microsoft being sued but they strongly believe the guy has no case and/or it's a scam. Can't be bothered to stay on that cesspit of a site too long to read the same thing over and over.

Whenever I see the news of one of these Gamers Rise Up class action lawsuits they never go anywhere but the same retards clap it on as they're just a different brand of neighbour cattle than FIFA players.

No, he's completely right. Microsoft spent a literal billion dollars for the game with the most copies ever sold in history. They will not balk at the terms of any lawsuit, full stop. It does not negatively affect them at all. On the contrary, it's actually good for them. It means there is still significant interest in their product, which they can parley into a bigger quarterly return on investment.

What is the end goal of this lawsuit? To force Microsoft to alert people to the changes in terms of service that doesn't make any difference, since it's going to happen anyway? Wow, I'm sure they're quaking in their boots. Sorry but this is just grifting off of Ross's popularity with Stop Killing Games. The equivalent of an ambulance chaser for gaming. It's a waste of energy for everyone but the lawyers.

Feel free to dunk on me for an epic win in six months if Microsoft emails you an activation code for Minecraft as an apology for jewing you ten years ago. I'll just be over here playing my cracked copy, not giving a fuck about what the cattle happen to be mooing about this week.
