I'm 99% sure I don't have a mod that increase the difficulty, it might be because I don't have protection on any of my gear but even then it feels like my hunger runs out too fast even when just running.
Don't know about the hunger since I usually use food mods that give good saturation and other hunger related effects, and while protection is a must have it shouldn't be that much of a jump in difficulty when not using it. Dunno I rarely play vanilla anymore and so I can't speak for how hard vanilla mobs hit. Again double check your mod list or post it here in case someone recognizes a mod that might cause this change in difficulty.
Nether fortress bricks are usually black when I have Iris off and increasing the brightness seems to have no effect on it
Maybe it's a resource pack issue? Nether Bricks aren't that dark.
Finding out a troon did a music disc I like was awful. Been a long time and it still sucks.
Feels great to know that I disliked the troon's music before I knew they were a troon. """Lena""" can get bent and seethe over never going to have work so good it was in a fucking museum. His music doesn't even fit Minecraft man.
so I'm gonna build a ship using a mod called Valkyrie Skies and sail over the ocean
Fun mod, due to being creatively inept I can never really use it even half-decently but you can do some sick shit. Recommend you check out Clockwork too if you ever use Create. The Physics mod (you can get the full version for free on their patreon since Microjang told them to cut it out) also allows waves that do work with Valkyrie I believe. Also if you want actual ships you need this mod I believe.

I couldn't help but like otherside. :/ wish I could have lived in ignorance.

Shipwreck idea abandoned, I crafted a bunch of balloons and flew it over to the lake near my base and then I noticed that all the stair blocks on the outside of the ship that were underwater when it turned into an entity became water source blocks even though they were occupied by stairs, I assume this is because I didn't modify them since stairs don't spawn naturally and it would've been a pain either way to break all the blocks and replace them so they'd be marked as player-placed so I moved onto another idea and I'm making a much grander ship, 46 blocks in length, 11 in height, 8 in width. I'm following this guide from the whitest website known to man: Reddit.

Are you going to mention anything specific or just vaguely state they messed up?
Well they did something to break Azure. Then that broke their logins and pretty much everything. Like airports are stuck because they can't check people in for flights. Minecraft just does not work because no Microsoft accounts can be logged into or used.

Hate to interrupt Lena Raine circlejerking session #42345235323 but there is actual good news for once:

Removing Obfuscation in Java Edition
Do you like to mod Java, tinker with builds, or take deep dives into Minecraft’s code? Then this article is for you!

For a long time, Java Edition has used obfuscation (hiding parts of the code) – a common practice in the gaming industry. Now we’re changing how we ship Minecraft: Java Edition to remove obfuscation completely. We hope that, with this change, we can pave a future for Minecraft: Java Edition where it’s easier to create, update, and debug mods.

An obfuscated history

Minecraft: Java Edition has been obfuscated since its release. This obfuscation meant that people couldn’t see our source code. Instead, everything was scrambled – and those who wanted to mod Java Edition had to try and piece together what every class and function in the code did.

But we encourage people to get creative both in Minecraft and with Minecraft – so in 2019 we tried to make this tedious process a little easier by releasing “obfuscation mappings”. These mappings were essentially a long list that allowed people to match the obfuscated terms to un-obfuscated terms. This alleviated the issue a little, as modders didn’t need to puzzle out what everything did, or what it should be called anymore. But why stop there?

Removing obfuscation in Java Edition

To make things even easier – and remove these intermediary steps – we’re removing obfuscation altogether! Starting with the first snapshot following the complete Mounts of Mayhem launch, we will no longer obfuscate Minecraft: Java Edition. This means that this build (and all future builds) will have all of our original names* – now with variable names and other names – included by default to make modding even easier.

*Names in this context refers to technical names of elements of the code, including variables, fields, methods, classes, etc.

What this means for modders

We know that this change may pose challenges for existing modding tools, which are typically designed for obfuscated code, and we’re going to help modders prepare for this change. Starting with the next snapshot we will provide un-obfuscated “experimental release” versions alongside obfuscated ones. Modders will be able to use these to test their tools and workflows before we transition fully to non-obfuscated versions.

The first snapshot following the complete Mounts of Mayhem launch will be the first version without obfuscation.

Why are we doing this?

Modding is at the heart of Java Edition – and obfuscation makes modding harder. We're excited about this change to remove obfuscation, as it should make it quicker and easier for modders to create and improve mods. Now you won’t have to untangle tricky code or deal with unclear names. What’s more, de-bugging will become more straightforward, and crash logs will actually be readable!

No changes to EULA

Just a quick reminder: these changes don’t affect our Minecraft End User License Agreement and Minecraft Usage Guidelines. Both still apply to Minecraft: Java Edition and any mods, so please keep them in mind. For extra transparency, you’ll now find a LICENSE file inside the jar that links directly to the EULA.

Here’s what modders can expect in upcoming releases and snapshots:
  • No more obfuscation maps in version .jsons – as they’re no longer needed
  • The client and server .jar files won’t be obfuscated
  • Each .jar now includes a new LICENSE file

As with all of our releases, we’ll want your feedback on this change – especially as we transition from an obfuscated past into our new, more transparent future!

I still don't understand why it was obfuscated for so long, especially the fact that this was an early-notch decision and not Microsoft.

the impression I get about working for mojang in 2025 is that, in order to do anything actually cool or useful, you must find a way to penetrate the ten layers of bureaucracy microsoft dropped onto the company after they increased their employee count from 20->600+ over 2 years and opened a new office in washington.

like you're a swede and you want to deobfuscate the game because modding is a huge part of it, but to do that, you have to get permission from your ten middle managers put into your company by microsoft. you hop into god knows how many zoom calls with Pooja Singh, trying to dumb it down as much as you can, and after 10 minutes of him staring at you, eyes glazed over, he says "saar, we cannot into deobfuscate the game because hackers will cause system virus for us." you repeat this process over and over until you finally discover the one white man still in a position of power at your company who signs off on it in three minutes.
