First Amazon kills AWS, now Microsoft kills Azure. First of all, Azure is like their crown jewel so this is a colossal fuckup. Second of all, this is :optimistic: since nothing ever happens but hopefully people'll start waking up to the whole cloud BS.

As for the deobfuscation, it only applies to nu-Minecraft versions so I really couldn't care less, shit's been dead for years and years now with the balkanized modding API's and version chasers.

Speaking of:
This will be 12 years old soon. So Mojang: where's the modding API?

I have been playing nothing but GTNH for the last few weeks (got directly from starting the world to early MV within ~100 hours) and it feels like playing the game for the first time when you were a kid and everything was so new and expansive. I had gotten very turned off of GT before because for some reason I tried to play a GregTech 6 pack on my old computer, which was very frustrating both due to that PC sucking, but also the early game being fucking awful, the lack of documentation, and my world and my backup eventually getting corrupted. I got burned out on the game a long time ago because of how repetitive it felt (even with mods) so it’s nice to have something that’s so new and expansive.

Also, playing this has just reminded me of how dogshit the new design philosophy is. Every update adds a few decoration blocks, a new biome, and a mob that does nothing. Mods are becoming worse too. Every new pack is the same create-based garbage where everything has the same bright soulless nu-Minecraft textures.

On the removed obfuscation
I am not that good at coding stuff, but this is probably pretty good for mods. Possibly a new golden age. Some of the newer mods look pretty swell, I was already eyeing up nuversion stuff.
Also, this might be :optimistic: but could this be a prelude to java getting deprecated? Finally all the mods on the same version, even if divided between 3 launchers.

This isn’t even a good retort to the Notch wojak, it’s not like he said “trans people are untalented”. Goes to show they’re not denying being mentally ill.
is that supposed to be a notchjak? it looks like a jew that got his hair cut as a prank until you notice the nose size...

honestly the de-obfuscation is a good thing even if for nu-versions because it will allow backporting "easily" even to ancient versions, modders can keep versionchasing but other types of modders will prop up just to backport stuff and maybe slap tranny flags on it because... modders.
they don't need to make a new modding API if the community's done it for them nigga
they don't want to make a modding api, notch was the one that wanted to do a starsector and make a modding api, curiously enough starsector is also on java, now notch is a "problematic figure" and to be honest there isn't a skilled developer in there to pick up from where he left from, also why i think the PvP rework update isn't coming out either since jeb can't code for shit.

No thank you, Bugrock is a piece of shit based on a mangled mobile version that had no, and still HAS no, feature parity despite attempts to backport broken 'features' to Java.
It's also the version i actually paid for instead of having forcibly attached to a fucking legacy account.
It being deprecated will probably result in a community version sprouting up from 24152 directions at once and completely fucking Microsoft's hold on the community because everyone knows the differences between the shit knockoff and Actual Minecraft, even the kids.

Imagine getting back on a server after a month ban because "ultra hardcore LOL" and then dying to a skelly in like two minutes just to get banned again for a month... I'm a masochist clearly because I play Minecraft in 2025, but I should seek help. In other news I got my copper cape and I love it. I don't care if I'm a basic bitch for it. I love copper so much like lemme lick a chunk of it. 😋 Like people go on and on about how awesome gold is but copper is better. I wouldn't be playing vanilla again if it wasn't for the new copper stuff really.

Good.

I think that's where the trajectory of Java Edition is going anyways, JE now accounts for less than ¼ of the total sales volume, and it doesn't have the addon marketplace for further monetization. All the incentives align for Mojang to prioritize Bedrock, but the moment Java is deprecated/taken off support is the moment open source alternatives can take over in its niche. I want them to deprecate it, because the modding community has shown itself decently capable of filling the niche with independent alternatives. The sooner the better I say

just say you like vintage story, no one is going to laugh at you, i mean you might get laughed at for thinking it has a chance against minecraft but that's just you being retarded even though the only true and honest competition minecraft has is roblox, to dig deeper in that rabbithole you'd need a zoomer kiwi because they can explain better to you about how roblox is incorporating many flash-era games to it and doing all of the monetization stuff you'd see in minecraft back in the day, minus the DDoSing.

what microsoft wants and sometimes get is marketplace coin sales, if mojank has ever hinted at dropping java for good to focus on bugrock then you'd see ten million billion videos of people trying to doompill about it but it's sort of a badly kept secret that microshart wants to kill java edition, slowing updates, hinting at parity even though the modding community has already solved it and making shitty branding marketeer shit like the anniversary event, so much so they gave all of the event focus on bugrock and gave shitty capes to java but it's as the other kiwi says, everyone and their mothers know bugrock is a iredeemable piece of shit for a myriad of factors and one of them, and the most critical part of it, is the coding laguage of that version, it's probably part of the Expand phase where bugrock will be the main focus and all of the seasonal/thematic updates will be given to bugrock first and then are ported to java but will be a sloppy job so it "will be buggy" until a modder fixes it or a unofficial minecraft patch pops up with the code deobfuscation, i can't really tell if minecraft has a shartmoor equivalent.

while reading the comments of the video i found this because phoenix compared creepers to phantoms in being a threat:

and you know what? the guy is right, jeb is a artist, even if he takes a game design course o algo he is still an artist and artistes have a shitty retarded ego which need tardwrangling by someone downright psychotic, also notch joined in trying to defend the hate jeb got for being retarded and ended up saying he would do everything all over again to add creepers in the game even though he admitted to sharing it with jeb that he thought they were a "anti-fun" thing, i fucking loled loud when i saw that xweet.1762096200635.png1762096161168.png

Those are a good 3-4 hours I'm never getting back.

I actually don't (well, not like I hate it but I prefer modded MC over it anyways). It does do some things better than Minecraft, but it's still a proprietary commercial game, even if the ownership is more "down to earth", and anyhow I'm more of an automation game enjoyer than gritty realism TFC type gameplay fan.

I'm thinking more like Minetest but with vastly more polish and hopefully some continuity with Java Ed. Possibly :optimistic: but I think there's enough autism in the Java modding scene to make an independent, open source re-implementation of Java Edition possible and realistic if Mojang were to ever drop JE (consider the GTNH team porting 1.7.10 over to newer LWJGL to support modern Java versions for performance gains); which is why I maintain that this:
it's sort of a badly kept secret that microshart wants to kill java edition
is a good thing, ackshully

open source alternatives
Oh no, i mean flat-out Minecraft: Java Edition: Community Edition.
Microsoft is really, really bad at fighting multi-front 'infringements' and they already have numerous problems in the way of said unofficial continuations being legal infringements to begin with.
A FOSS recreation would probably get nuked by tranny infighting.

nu-Minecraft versions
I despise their update scheme after 1.16. They keep updating the game like every month to add useless patches and garbage no one cares about, gameplay wise I cannot fathom why people update their game past 1.18. And yet you end up being forced to update anyways solely for the sake of mod compatibility or multiplayer servers which all require different versions.

I think Mojang does listen to the players to some extent, many people wanted a cave update for the longest time so boom, Caves and Cliffs. People then wanted more uses for copper so we got The Copper Age. I’m not saying that they do it perfectly or well enough not to cause more bloat and problems in the long run, but it’s not like they 100% have their heads perpetually in the sand like Bethesda. They at least try, sometimes.

IF this was the case, we would've had a more indepth Pillaging update.

Like Pillagers are another civilization and we can't trade with them. There's potential for a slave labor market right there with Villagers & Pillagers.

I'm not just referring to the content of the updates themselves, I'm talking about the way they update. It took them like 3-4 major updates to release caves and cliffs across several years with multiple patches in between, which is hell for updating mods and compatibility, as well as multiplayer servers.

Wanna play on this server? Gotta update to 1.36.4! But on this other server? Gotta update to 1.36.2.2! And good luck if your mods are compatible! And all because mojang wanted to add 3 more wood colors and gender affirming capybaras.
