Given how Soyjang decided not to add fireflies because the implication of frogs being able to eat them might maybe cause frogs somewhere in real life to get sick, you will unfortunately be waiting a while.

Having all the different colors of wool and concrete for slabs and stairs will be really nice, that’s what I’m most hyped for, and the other changes are just mid Microslop. Everyone’s going nuts glazing the cushions but I’m just not feeling it, maybe they’ll grow on me but meh whatever.
The poplar wood is also just not that great of a color, but I really like the look of the leaves and the forests for that autumn vibe. I’m already thinking about how I want a nice pumpkin patch and scarecrows and maybe a hay bale maze, real Fall harvest festival type shit.
i still remember when they leaked the bare bones pack from merl, yet mojang in their infinite knowledge ignored what happened instead of releasing that resource pack as a additional download and i still laugh at it, what a wasted opportunity.
they were glazing it's gay utilities like being able to literally cushion up to overworld level with some suffocation damage but most of the things they glazed cushions for was nerfed so, yeah, it was just engagement shit.

you know what i still miss? variations of the cracked, smooth and chiseled stone, it's been decades at this point, i need to add fucking chisel if i want to give some atmosphere to my cuckshed.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=WNP6g-6HQc8he has some okay videos but this one is pretty meh, especially with his gay rant about AI, the video he made about dimensional mods helped me find some really good shit for a playthrough i did a while back with dimensional doors.
"Normally I'm against AI but I need to use it to make this video because the mdos do"
Sounds like he doesn't actually give a shit about AI if his usage of it is dependent on how many views it can get him. I'm not even a fan of the majority of LLMs (Fuck it dude I'm so tired of them being the face of "AI") but the performative fake outrage on them is so annoying when you see those same people with at least ONE chatgpt tab open or they blatantly show themselves relying on the AI overview on google searches.
Found some interesting mods with low downloads that might be interesting. AMBUSH - Allows players to make configurable ambushes using Data Packs. What separates this from other encounter mods is how customizable it is and what can trigger them (walking through a portal, trading with a villager, frequenting an specific area), if it has waves, mod compatibility (there seems to be a volley system which has compatibility with Create Big Cannons), and some other stuff. It can even be used with Create Aeronautics which is cool since we only really have one mod as far as I know that takes advantage of it regarding enemies.
Right now it's "potential mod" but I can see some cool things coming from it. Seamless Portals - Adds configurable portals similar to Immersive Portals, except instead of linking dimensions it's just linking locations in the same dimension. Seems to be made with compatibility in mind since he tested it on a kitchen sink pack (ATM). Now you can have both Immersive Portals for clean dimension travel and Seamless Portals for clean same-plane travel.
It is bloat & pointless but being able to instantly find your hostile drop, animal drip & redstone chests is why i've dyed Shulker boxes for half an hour.
It would eliminate the need of placing signs & those empty paintings where you put an item in it.
I’ve been trying to, through trial and error, learn more redstone as my tech is roughly Stone Age because I’m from the times before we even had comparators. I made an evil laboratory to store my redstone stuff and put some farms in it.
Behold, La Abominación, my dye factory hooked up to a cactus farm. Most cactus gets turned into bone meal, some gets smelted into dye (a bamboo farm makes the fuel), and the bonemeal makes more flowers that get crafted into dye. I used it to teach myself how the fuck a comparator works so that the hoppers loading the dispensers would only work if there’s more than a certain amount of bonemeal in the feeding chests, it ain’t pretty but it works. There's also the Chicken Slimer, where I use oozing potions and harming potions to get slime.
I also, through some miracle, made a working flying machine to harvest sugar cane and make paper and I’m blown away that it actually works. Here I set it up so that the crafter would only work when it has three slots filled so we don’t get sugar, and that’s controlled by a comparator that turns a clock on when there’s items and off when there’s not. But I'm really happy with a shulker filler I made, when the shulker is full of sugarcane a piston breaks it and then a new one is dispensed. It and some other basic farms are above my witch farm so that when I’m in the area I have a bunch of stuff being made.
Redstone is wild, but it’s fun when you make something that actually works. And while I do mostly play Creative Mode, I enjoy making farms and contraptions because it's a fun puzzle and I'm not autistic enough for Factorio.
Creative is awesome, there's always something fun to do there. I suck at making anything large scale/ornate like some server lobbies have but there is some primitive fun just making TNT cannons and trying to figure out more complex redstone systems serving some purpose without going into autistic 'make calculator in redstone' degree of wiring. Though I remember fondly times of early Alpha MP server hosted through one of forums that people behaved well enough and collaborated on builds, gathering resources and going into somewhat light RP, like being a glassworker that just focuses on getting glass for Atlantis project or lighthouses, whatever people thought would make the 'city sprawl' look cool. No plugins were at the time, the server just dealt with gold as currency and I remember that slimeballs were used too because of little use back then, though mobs were notoriously glitchy on MP and slime spawning was bound to specific chunks like clay used to.
Create, even before it got its expansion with vehicles, allowed to do cool shit besides just 'automating farms and smelting', one of the best examples I can think of was an automatic bore that buddy made - essentially it continuously ran forward mining everything on its path, can't remember if it was using tracks to deploy->move->grab tracks->deploy or pistons, but it was like a bunker buster drilling through the world for few thousand blocks before jamming up.
Easily one of the best mods for automation that exist right now (despite creators being version-chasing retards) for sole factor of just aesthetics and intuitiveness that does not appeal to the most extreme autists like GTNH packs tend to.
Also fun reminder; when Microslop did feature Create in one of the trailers for mods, they did absolutely no justice to showcase it, instead slapping random parts around, resulting in the Create devs making a 'ponder' that mocks it:
But then again as far as MS is concerned, they care about IP just to push out merch and toys which outweighs priority for them 'working' on the source material. Because pushing shitty LEGOs and merch works for them, evident by fact there are kids that watch minecraft, nag parents to buy them toys and clothes but not actually play it.
I'm honestly a little surprised nujang haven't changed oak trees dropping apples given how much they've tweaked things & nixed update features because they're ""harmful"" or ""unrealistic"". But then how much damage can happen to a retarded kid because he ate an acorn thinking it was an apple.
Inventory bloat is real and I've had uniquely unpleasant inventory hell with a mixture of apotheosis affix items and born in chaos mobs dropping 600 different giblets. This shit filled up even a occultism dimensional storage quickly if I didnt keep it pruned.
The best way to provide colored chests and etc imo would be an application system where you simply right-click the chest/furnishing block with a dye or piece of wood in order to inherit that color. (And depending on how much you enjoy flagellating yourself if the dye drops when picked back up) That would mean while there would be tons of variantbloat on the backend [something you already have in any modpack and that Minecraft can handle] you have zero new true items being created that will clog your bag and your storage.
i don't get it, factorio isn't really that hard, although it has a higher tech progression than minecraft you are like 20% good to go already on factorio, 22% if you use copper golems and autocrafters, the rest is play to learn.

A lot of mods do this unfortunately. Apotheosis items I can scrap at least, BiC is uh...well BiC is a bit of a headache to deal with all around. Fuck that Nightmare Stalker spawning in when I'm exploring and don't have the gear to fight it.
